The nearest metro station - Koroglu From Koroglu metro station you can reach Baku Expo Center by buses 24, 50, 101, 160, 171.

SHUTTLE BUS SCHEDULE

Exhibitors can use the buses which leave every half an hour from Narimanov Narimanov Metro Station (the bus stop is opposite to McDonald`s) to Baku Expo Center and back. Shuttle buses time-table can be obtained from the website www.bakutel.az on the VISITING page (schedules are usually posted on the site 1 month before the exhibition starts).

RULES OF ENTRY
VISA PROCEDURE
Note: The visa support is given as a part of accommodation package and it is free of charge. If the visa support is ordered without accommodation it will be subject to 60 per person. Citizens of the most CIS countries do not need visa to enter Azerbaijan (except Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan). Citizens of Turkey has simplified visa entry procedure. The visa is granted upon arrival at the Baku Airport. Citizens of Israel taking direct flight of AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines) from Tel-Aviv can obtain visa on arrival to Baku Airport. Citizens of other countries need to obtain visa in one of the nearest Azerbaijani diplomatic missions abroad before traveling to Azerbaijan. The Letter of Invitation (LOI) from the organiser should be obtained to apply for the visa. Issuing of LOI takes 1-2 working days. See the list of Azeri diplomatic missions abroad on pages 6 8. Citizens of the most Asian, Pacific Ocean Islands and African countries should have the Visa Support Letter (VSL) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan when applying to visa. Please, note that the VSL to these nationals is provided selectively. Proceeding of visas in the Consulate takes up to 10 working days (please, confirm with the correspondent diplomatic mission). Note: As many exhibitors usually plan to visit several exhibitions and have many business trips, it is strongly recommended to obtain your visa beforehand.

VISA SUPPORT LETTER (VSL)

For the VSL the following is needed: good quality scanned copy of the passport sent to exhibitions@gwtc.az along with printed Full Name of Company, Arrival date, Departure date, Name of country and city where you apply for visa, Contact details. The VSL is submitted to the Consulate Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in Baku. The approval process takes minimum 20 working days. Approved VSL is faxed/e-mailed directly to the relevant Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan where the visa is to be obtained. The copy is sent to the applicant by email. Important: Due to the new visa system (from January 2012) all applicants should apply to the Consulate in person to provide their fingertips and biometric photos, new online applications are filled by the Consulate employees in applicant`s presence. In this case there is no need in the VSL. Before appliance, please, confirm if the particular Azeri consulate is already connected to this system. Warning: Non-compliance with the entry regulations will result in the deportation of the traveler.
More information on the types of visa and period of stay in Azerbaijan can be obtained at www.mfa.gov.az. The rules and fees are subject to change without prior notification.

GENERAL CUSTOMS RULES

Foreign currency must be declared upon arrival. The amount of cash brought out of the country should not exceed the amount stated in the declaration on arrival. Export of the amount exceeding $1000 USA (or its equivalent) is charged 1% tax. Bringing items intended for private use is permitted free of charge, including up to 3 blocks of cigarettes, 1,5 l of strong alcoholic beverages, 2 l of wine, needed medicines. It is permitted to export personal belongings, articles of craft and goods obtained in the country. Export of any antique goods (including precious stones, coins, transcripts and other works of art as well as carpets and handiworks produced before 1960) is forbidden without the correspondent official certificate of the Ministry of Culture. Such certificates are given automatically only in the official art shops (private shops and markets do not have such certificates). Export of more than 600 g of caviar, valuable timber trees, antlers of elks and roedeers is forbidden. Transit of narcotic substances, guns and ammunition (excluding shotguns for which permission is given), literature and video materials offending moral and violating laws of the country is forbidden.

CURRENCY
National currency of Azerbaijan is Azerbaijan manat (AZN). Foreign currency can be exchanged to Azerbaijan manats in all banks, ATMs, currency exchange points. Master Card/Visa are acceptable in banks, hotels and many stores. Banks` working hours are from 9.30 to 16.00 from Monday to Friday. Banks are not working on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

RESERVATION POLICY & TERMS OF PAYMENT

Note: Please, carefully read the conditions on this page before booking. BOOKING. To make reservation you should select the required accommodation from the list of hotels and transport services we offer. Fill in the Reservation Form stating all necessary information and send it to the Greenwich Travel Club (hereinafter referred to as Travel Agent). If you havent found the required accommodation or you need different type of approach, our operators will provide you with more options to select from. Note: To ensure the required number of rooms in the hotel the Reservation Form is advised to be sent in minimum 30 days prior to your arrival (50 days for groups more than 10 people). CONFIRMATION & INVOICING. The Travel Agent will forward you the details of the reserved accommodation within 1 (one) working day by e-mail or fax. After you confirm in written the selected package of accommodation the Travel Agent sends you the scanned Invoice with total amount along with the Hotel Reservation Confirmation by e-mail. The original Invoice will be submitted on your arrival to Baku, if needed. If you prefer to pay for your accommodation by Credit Card directly to the hotel upon arrival, the scanned copy of the Credit Card (face side) should be sent to the Travel Agent to guarantee the booking. RE-BOOKING. You may change your reservation after it has been confirmed (hotel, guest name, date, etc), by sending a written notification to the Travel Agent no later than 10 (ten) days before the check-in date. For groups of 10 and more persons changes has to be done no less than 20 (twenty) days before the check-in date. The Travel Agent will try to assist but cannot guarantee to meet such requests. The payment is made in Azerbaijan Manat (AZN) or its equivalent in the related currency (EURO, USD, RUB). Ateshgah (The Temple of the Fire Worshippers) The Ateshgah or "Fire Temple" is a castle-like religious structure in Surakhani, a suburb of Baku. The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetra pillar altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned after 1883 when oil and gas plants were established in the vicinity. The complex was turned into a museum in 1975 and now receives 15,000 visitors a year. Gobustan Qobustan is a settlement and municipality in Baku. It is best known for being the home to the famous rock petroglyphs and mud volcanoes. The area has been settled since the 8th millennium BC. It is known for hosting thousands of rock engravings spread over 100 square km depicting hunting scenes, people, ships, constellations and animals. Its oldest petroglyphs date from the 12th century BC. In 2007, UNESCO included the 'Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape' in the World Heritage list. There are inscriptions nearby left by a Roman Legionaire around 75AD during the reign of Emperor Domitian which is the eastern-most Roman inscription ever found. Gobustan is also famous for its mud volcanoes. Nearly 300 of the world's 700 mud volcanoes are located in this part of eastern Azerbaijan near the Caspian Sea.
