Cyberbullying is a growing problem with the constant introduction of new technology. Bullies are hiding behind their computer screen or their cell phone, which often leads to more hurtful actions. Cyberbullying can be anonymous and cause heightened distress for the victim. It can happen any time of day or night, leaving victims constantly stressed and scared. Cyberbullying has a permenance never seen on the playground, as pictures or words posted can exist on the internet forever.

Everyone should stay involved. Parents, teachers, and students should work together toward bully prevention and other initiatives. Policies and rules. Students need to know what they can and cannot do. Reinforce positive social interactions and inclusiveness Stay educated. Make sure everyone is aware of any problems.

PREVENTION AT SCHOOL

Seek necessary medical assistance. Stay calm and be a role model. Be respectful. DONT ignore it! Dont try to nd out what happened right away. Dont publicly question bystanders or the children involved (speak separately). children involved as well as any witnesses. Always talk to them separately. Listen without blaming, and make no accusations. Find out if its really bullying. Bullies tend to target students that seem weak. Gaining confidence can help bullied students seem stronger. Bullies who begin martial arts training will have another outlet for their confidence.

Martial arts teaches respect and self-control, skills that could prevent bullying. Students will learn not to provoke bullies, without seeming vulnerable. Lack of respect is a big cause of bullying. Martial arts teaches respect.

Bullies can be anti-social and seek approval. Leadership skills will help them be more community-oriented. Having friends at the martial arts school will make bullied students less isolated and less prone to bullying. Martial arts teaches self-defense, not offense. It can be a physical outlet for bullies as well. Bullied students will no longer be easy targets for bullies with their new knowledge of self-defense.
