The ability to clone device configurations directly from a device or pulled from a database, that can then be pushed to the same device types Enhanced support for PMP 320, PTP 250, PTP 300, PTP 500, and PTP 800 products Support for multiple default configuration templates per device type that can be applied during device discovery Elimination of the requirement of customers to have their own physical map licenses Enhancements to the software upgrade utility Removal of all direct support of Motorola Mesh devices these devices are treated as generic in WM 4.0 Support for up to 20 concurrent client sessions Additional release information can be found on the Cambium website at: http://www.cambiumnetworks.com/support/planning/index.php?cat=1&type=0

3 Should I upgrade to WM 4.0 or remain on WM 3.0?


Upgrading from WM 3.0 to 4.0 is free. Existing WM 3.0 node licenses will work with WM 4.0. Other network factors to consider: If your network includes: Only PMP and PTP devices Only Motorola Mesh devices PMP, PTP, and Mesh devices The recommended upgrade is: WM 4.0 Remain using WM 3.0 WM 4.0 to have full access to the latest support of PMP and PTP products and can manage Mesh devices generically WM 3.0 if your primary concern is to manage the details of Mesh devices

4 Are evaluation copies of WM 4.0 available?

5 Do I need a node license for every device?


No. Devices needing a license include: PMP Access Points PTP Masters in a link CMMs 3rd party devices Subscriber Modules and PTP Slaves in a link do not need a node license.

6 Can I migrate my existing WM 3.0 data?


Yes, the WM 4.0 includes an installation tool for migrating the MySQL database.

7 What are the hardware requirements for WM 4.0?


Minimum server requirements: Server class CPU (as distinguished from a desktop computer) 2 GHz or greater Dual-core processor 4 GB RAM RAID storage Minimum client requirements: 15 MB storage space High speed link of at least 1 Mbps Screen resolution of 1024 x 768

10 What will happen to previous versions of Wireless Manager?


Support for Motorola Mesh devices within Wireless Manager 3.0 are managed through point releases and/or service packs released from Motorola. Cambium will initiate an end of life plan in 2012 for WM 3.0 for PMP and PTP products. Wireless Manager 2.2 will begin the end of life cycle in 2012.
