Senior project staff


Description of jobs An international NGO working in Pakistan requires the services of four senior officers for its various projects mostly related to training and capacity building. The employer organization is running a capacity building program since last 10 years. The program aims at helping civil society organizations (NGOs) perform more effectively and efficiently. The program is implemented through many training initiatives of various types and duration. One major part of the program is about training NGO staff members on various skills and sets of knowledge required by these organizations. Another is focused on accountability mechanisms for NGOs working for emergency relief and rehabilitation still another is devoted to training of teachers of rural schools. The senior level vacant posts require ability and experience of heading one or more projects independently. The applicant shall exhibit strong leadership qualities and creativity in designing newer trainings initiatives. The responsibilities include program promotion at various levels, liaison with participants and experts/trainers, facilitating training sessions, follow-up, documentation and reporting. All posts require travelling some more extensive than others. Recruitment process a: Terms and conditions for applying All applicants will be selected through a recruitment process that will grade/mark their competence and suitability for a post. The grading system will assess the applicants through written tests and/or assignments and/or panel interviews. The applicants will be accordingly offered salary packages and designations. Masters in any discipline related to social sciences is the main educational requirement for all posts. A higher degree in relevant discipline for senior cadre posts carries additional weight. Senior cadre applicants must have 5 years or more of relevant experience in similar organizations. Longer and/or more relevant experience carries additional weight. Senior cadre posts carry a monthly salary starting at Rs 70,000 with a maximum of ten increments of Rs 5,000 each (making Rs 120,000 the upper limit) All candidates have to apply on the Applicant Info Form. No CV or bio data in any other format will be accepted. Applicants assessed as suitable will be asked to undertake a written test on a specific date and time. 2: Written test All applicants will undertake a written test that is designed to assess their level of English language skills and knowledge, both general and specific to the projects. The test will mostly comprise of MCQs and

comprehension. The applicants will be informed of date, time and place of the test. The test will be one to two hours long. The test will be graded and the scores will help the administration in selecting applicants and also decide their salary and level of responsibilities - designation. 3: Assignments The qualifying applicants will be invited for a day long engagement during which they will be required to complete specific assignments. For example, they may be asked to develop a brief presentation on a topic by using their knowledge or may be sent in field to find out something. The applicants performance will be graded and their scores will help the administration in selecting applicants and also in deciding their salary and level of responsibilities - designation. 4: Interview The qualifying applicants may also be called for a panel interview that will be the final stage. The salary package, designation and other terms and conditions will be discussed and decided with the successful applicants who will join in February 2012. Junior level posts require a certain level of competence and an eagerness to learn and experience. The responsibilities include program promotion at various levels, liaison with participants and experts (resource persons), facilitating training sessions, follow-up, documentation and reporting. All posts require travelling some more extensive than others. Recruitment process a: Terms and conditions for applying The applicants will be selected through a recruitment process that will grade/mark their competence and suitability for a post. The grading system will assess the applicants through written tests and/or assignments and/or panel interviews. The applicants will be accordingly offered salary packages and designations. Junior cadre applicants shall preferably have an experience of two years. Fresh masters however can also apply. Junior cadre posts carry a monthly salary starting at Rs 25,000 with a maximum of ten increments of Rs 5,000 each (making Rs 75,000 the upper limit)
