Sub: Applications are invited for the post of Chairperson for Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights, 5th Floor, ISBT Building, Kashmere Gate, Delhi- 110006 constituted u/s 17 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005. The Commission shall exercise the powers conferred upon it for speedy trial of offences against children or of violation of Child Rights and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. 1. Qualifications of Chairperson:- Should be a person of eminence and has done outstanding work for Promoting the welfare of children. 2. Following important points may be noted: (a) No person having any past record of violation of human rights or child rights shall be eligible for appointment as the Chairperson. (b) A Chairperson shall hold office, as such, for a term of three years from the date on which he/she assumes office provided that no Chairperson shall hold office as such after he/she has attained the age of 65 years. (c) The Chairperson may by writing under his hand addressed to the Government resign his office at any time. (d) In case of retired government servants, the pay will be fixed in accordance with the prevailing orders i.e. last pay drawn minus pension. In case of public figures, the amount will be Rs. 25,000/- p.m. consolidated for the Chairperson. (e) There is no provision for hiring/allotment of a house or of House Rent Allowance. (f) The chairperson will be entitled to fixed monthly car allowance of Rs. 9,500/- per month for use and maintenance of his/her personal car for transportation between residence and office. (g) The clause for removal from office and other relevant details may kindly be seen in the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 and the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights Rules, 2008. 3.
