Scenario: 1. APAC has 4 Childs 1. India 2. China 3. Japan 4. Singapore 2. USA has two Childs 1. USA1 2. USA2 Now I dont want to consolidate Singapore to parent APAC. I want it to be Consolidate to parent USA. How do you achieve this?
Answer: To achieve the result you need to create alternative hierarchy. First select the Singapore Entity in Metadata items then go to Members list tab next to Member Attributes tab in Workbench client. Drag the Singapore entity and drop at USA Parent. So it will become as alternative Hierarchy.
Now you will see Singapore Entity as child for both parents (APAC and USA)
Under USA parent, Singapore entitys default parent also showing APAC instead of USA. Because it is a Alternative Hierarchy.
Now Set the Singapore Entity PCON to 0 (Zero) to its Parent APAC. So that it will not consolidate to its parent.
By default all entities PCON should be 100. No need to change the alternative Hierarchy parents (USA) PCON percentage. So 100% will be consolidated to its parent USA.
India amount 110 USD only consolidated to parent APAC. Singapore amount 8000USD not consolidated to its Parent APAC
See below Singapore amount 8000USD is consolidated to Parent USA (in Alternative Hierarchy)
