Pray through Gods Story (Week 30)

Focus on God
There is no one like our God in his mercy, love and faithfulness. Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old. (Micah 7:18-20)

Respond from the Heart

Pray for a heart like God in expressing true devotion to God in faithfulness, mercy and justice. With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:6-8)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray against idolatry and syncretism in our nation. Pray that worship in all churches will be purified and will be radically and exclusively God-centered. But every nation still made gods of its own and put them in the shrines of the high places that the Samaritans had made, every nation in the cities in which they livedThey also feared the Lord and appointed from among themselves all sorts of people as priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the shrines of the high places. So they feared the Lord but also served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried awaySo these nations feared the Lord and also served their carved images. Their children did likewise, and their childrens childrenas their fathers did, so they do to this day. (2 Kings 17:29-33, 41)

Present Your Requests

Pray that as you know God more, you will sense your unworthiness before him, and as you hear him calling you, you will respond. In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the templeAnd I said: Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts! And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me. (Isaiah 6:1, 5, 8)

Close in Celebration
Thank God for his forgiveness and all the good things flowing out of that. Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. (Isaiah 1:18-19)
