TheInternationalMedicalCouncilonVaccinationanditsaffiliateddoctors,scientistsand concernedorganizationswouldliketoconveyourstrongsupportfortheworkoftheAustralian VaccinationNetwork(AVN)andcondemntheattemptsanAustraliangovernmentbodyismaking tocensorandsuppresstheirwork.TheAVNseemstobethetargetofAustraliasNewSouth WalesHealthCareComplaintsCommission(HCCC).OurunderstandingistheHCCChasasserted thatAVNprovidesinformationthatissolelyantivaccination,thatAVNswebsitecontains informationthatisincorrectandmisleading,andthatAVNquotesselectivelyfromresearchto suggestthatvaccinationisdangerous.

WefurtherunderstandthattheHCCChasorderedtheAVNtoplaceadisclaimeronitswebsite statingthatinformationprovidedbytheAVNshouldnotbereadasmedicaladviceandthata parentsdecisionaboutwhetherornottovaccinateshouldbemadeinconsultationwitha healthcareprovider.

InternationalMedicalCouncilonVaccination,havingknowledgeoftheAVN,stronglydefends theAVNagainsttheHCCCsclaims.ItisabsurdthattheHCCCwouldsuggestthattheAVNhas anyobligationtoconveyinformationwhatsoevertobalanceAVNsownresearchandactivities. Organizationsoperatinginfreesocietiesmustneverbeheldtoforcedexpectationssuchas these.IMCVcondemnsanycensoringofinformationorevenopinionAVNwishestoconvey whatsoever.

InternationalMedicalCouncilonVaccinationimplorestheHCCCandtheAustralianmediato supportfreeandopeninformationanddesistbullyingofthoseorganizationsandindividuals whoprovideit.Thissituationisofkeeninternationalinterest.Ourintentistobringwide publicitytothiscensorshipifnotimmediatelycorrected.WeareconfidentHCCCwilldotheright thing.
