PART I GENERAL
The Flight Trails side mount, when installed, will permit operators of MDHI 500N model helicopters equipped with the Spectrolab, Inc. Model SX5 Star burst Searchlight System to easily install or remove the searchlight from the aircraft depending on mission requirements. This supplement must be carried in the approved basic MDHI 520N Model 500N Rotorcraft Flight Manual when the rotorcraft is modified by the installa tion instructions. Refer to the cover for list of helicopter serial numbers af fected. This supplement also contains an illustration of a unique instrument panel (Ref. Figure 1). Instrument locations may vary depending on what optional equipment is installed. Except as modified by this Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement, operation in compliance with Section II of the basic approved Rotorcraft Flight Manual is mandatory. Other sections of the RFM or supplement are recommended proce dures.

PART II LIMITATIONS
Airspeed limits: Maximum airspeed is 129 KIAS or less. Refer to Section II, VNE Placards. Placards: Instrument Panel DO NOT OPERATE SEARCHLIGHT BELOW 50 FEET. SEARCHLIGHT MUST BE HORIZONTAL BEFORE LANDING. Control Box MONITOR AMMETER WITH SEARCHLIGHT ON. REDUCE ELECTRICAL LOADS AS REQUIRED TO REMAIN BELOW 75% OF AMMETER LIMIT. MAGNETIC COMPASS UNRELIABLE WHEN SEARCHLIGHT IS ON.
