On this latest TOP10 meeting, R&D Sappi Services was represented by Koos Langemeijer and Arno Janssen, who gave a presentation on the subject of paper testing and galley proofs and demonstrated the revolutionary inkdrying speed of the new Sappi tempo papers, comparing it with drying times on the more traditional HannoArt Silk. As on many other occasions, tempo's ink-drying performance did not fail to impress the audience.

As shown in the picture above, the Sappi technicians used the Heidelberg Set-off device in their demonstration, while also measuring wet ink rub and white gas in tests designed to determine rub resistance and chemical drying in time intervals.

One other test performed to highlight the unique properties of Sappi's tempo papers was the so-called blocking test, which uses a weighted down stack of sheets, printed without the use of anti set-off powder, to determine the amount of ink transfer, if any.

The TOP10 specialists clearly valued the insight they had been given into Sappi's R&D activities on a day that once again proved the importance of mutual support and continuous research in the never ending quest for maximum quality. Arno Janssen Jr. Printer, R&D Maastricht
