The Indian mobile telecom sector has emerged in the last decade to be one of the biggest telecom sectors in the world. Describe briefly the market structure. Also write about service provision, tariff levels and profitability of the different entities in this sector. Finally, indicate whether this sector has contributed to social welfare in a developing country like India. 2. In recent years, outsourcing of various services from Western developed countries has been seen as providing employment in countries such as India, Pakistan and indeed the entire South East Asian belt. What are the various economic reasons that are driving this phenomenon? More generally is outsourcing welfare enhancing for third world countries? Give reasons. 3. Today we are facing an imminent shortage of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, given exponentially expanding demand for these resources. However, alternative energy technologies have not increased as much as expected over the last two decades. What are the probable reasons for this lack of expansion of alternative fuel technologies? Also if these alternative technologies do not grow, does it hurt the less developed countries more than the advanced countries? Why or why not. Explain.
