Location:

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are not just for the gifted classroom
anymore! In this session, participants will explore Blooms Taxonomy, compare it with Webbs Depth of Knowledge as featured in Common Core training, and practice various strategies for implementation into their content areas. Strategies for managing a differentiated classroom environment will be detailed, and teachers will leave with a plan in hand to start implementation the next day in their own classrooms.

Ginger Lewman is an education consultant specializing in project-based learning,
technology integration, gifted and high-ability learners, and creativity. She was formerly the Director of the Turning Point Learning Center in Emporia, KS, where she worked to create the LifePractice Model, a rich, democratic learning environment utilizing project based learning and 1:1 laptops. She currently holds a consultant position at ESSDACK in Hutchinson, KS. She also serves as the co-chair of the Professional Development Committee for the Kansas Learning First Alliance; is on the Board of Directors for Advocates for High-Ability Learners; is a member of the Kansas Council for the Social Studies; is a Google Certified Teacher; and is a Discovery Education Network STAR Educator.
