Two-Days Workshop on IFRSs

Saturday & Sunday 3rd & 4th of November, 2012
Dear Member, Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan has been contributing to economic development of the country since its inception in 1951. The Institute was given statutory status through Cost and Management Accountants Act, 1966 being the only Institute in Pakistan to regulate and promote the profession of Management Accounting. The Institute has provided competent Management Accountants to the government, Industry, trade and business, who are playing their role effectively in achieving the objective of these organizations. Objective: To impart the practical oriented knowledge on the application of IFRS to the participants. In this workshop participants will learn the knowledge of recognition, treatment and effective disclosures of various financial aspects based on case study approach by considering the financial statements of the various corporate giants of Pakistan. The workshop will cover following IAS's/ IFRS's: IFRS's: IAS-12, Taxation IAS-16 Property, Plant & Equipment; ( with intangible and impairment) IAS-17 Leases contract IAS-18 Revenue Recognition IAS-19 Employment Benefits IAS-32/39 Financial Instruments, Measurement and Recognition IFRS-7/9

Program Facilitator: Enver A. Ferzan is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and fellow member of the Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants and holds MBA with over 25 years experience of serving Telecommunication, Oil Refining , Oil Marketing, Leasing and Pharmaceutical sectors . During his association with various multinationals and blue chips he has been CFO and Company Secretary of National Refinery and Pakistan Refinery. He has led efforts in product design and developed tax strategies with companies and liaised with local and foreign institutions for arranging financial facilities for different projects.Enver is also an established lecturer with educational institution and professional bodies . In his teaching career of more than ten years he has conducted various courses for ICMA, ICAP, PIPFA , Banking and MBA students Enver A. Ferzan with CBM,IBA and IBP. For the last two years he has been associated with Institute of Cost and Management of Accountants of Pakistan and conducting classes for Financial Reporting and Business Taxations.
