1.1

Onsite Hardware Installation

1) Introduction
This document describes the TableTop Media Restaurant Level network equipment, the installation requirements and process. The wireless access point cabling and installation must be complete prior to the installation of this equipment.

2) Equipment to Install
DMS Device management Server Aruba 650 Wireless controller UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply Patch Cables

3) Considerations / Potential Challenges


Locating an installation location for the equipment will be the most challenging part of the installation. You will need to locate well ventilated space for the equipment, an available power outlet and reasonable access to the customers Point of Sale LAN Switch. Note: Restaurant ERJ Chilis Management has been instructed to place an 8 1/2 Label marking the space for the equipment.

DEVICE MANAGEMENT SERVER, WIRELESS CONTROLLER AND UPS INSTALLATION LOCATION This space (minimum of 2 x 2 x 2) needs to remain clean and clear for the installation of this equipment. Space should be close to both an available electrical outlet and the POS Switch.

One electrical power outlet will be required for UPS o This may require that an existing outlet be utilized. If this is the case then a power strip can be used to expand the power outlet. One RED patch cable will be installed from the Aruba 650 Wireless Controller to Applebees POS Switch.

The preferential orientation of the equipment is: o The UPS vertical with the front voltage indicator panel viewable. Second choice would be horizontal with front voltage indicator panel viewable Final choice would be horizontal with top viewable o The DMS horizontal with the front viewable. Ensure the ventilation is on top. Second choice would be horizontal with front facing to the left (this will keep the power button closest to the front facing side) Final choice would be Vertical with front viewable o The Aruba 650 Controller horizontal on top of the DMS with the front viewable Second choice would be horizontal to the right of the DMS with the front viewable. Final choice would be vertical between the DMS and UPS with the front viewable.

4) Equipment
Equipment will be shipped to the store to arrive two days prior to the scheduled installation. Box with: o UPS Box with: o DMS Device management server o Aruba 650 Wireless Controller o Two(2) power cords. o Power Strip o Extension Cord o Patch Cables Four(4) seven foot green One(1) ten foot blue One(1) twenty-five foot blue One(1) seven foot black One(1) ten foot red One(1) twenty five foot red One(1) seven foot orange One(1) three foot orange One(1) seven foot white One(1) seven foot yellow o One(1) USB Cable o One(1) Serial to RJ45 adapter o 5 or 8 port Gigabit Switch Box(s) with: o Battery Charger(s) up to two per box o Battery Charger feet Two feet with 8 screws for one of the chargers

5) Installation Steps
Identify Equipment installation location and orientation Clear and clean location. Ensure there is adequate ventilation Identify electrical power outlet Identify ERJ Chilis Cicso Rotuer and port for TableTop connectivity. Remove all equipment from packaging. Connect Serial to RJ45 adapter to DMS. Tighten two thumb screws until Snug. (these pictures need to be updated with new label indincating that the white patch cable is placed into the ALT NIC port instead of how noted here as do not use.)

6) Install all patch cables in the Aruba 650 Wireless Controller


o o o o o o o Seven (7) foot Green cables to port Zero(0), port One(1), port Two(2) and port (3) Red cable to Port Four(4) (Ten or Twenty Five Foot depending on distance to Cicso Router) Blue cable to Port Four(5) (Ten or Twenty Five Foot depending on distance to Cicso Router) Orange (3) seven foot cable to Port Five(6) White Cable to Port Six(7) Yellow Cable to Serial Port Insert the power cable. Right rear.

7) Install DMS Cables


Place the DMS with the rear facing you Place the Aruba 650 controller on top of the DMS with the back facing you. This will be the rear view of the equipment when installed in its final location. Place the 5 Port Gigabit Switch on top of the Aruba 650 Controller. Label the 5 Port Gigabit Switch TTM Gigabit Switch as shown in the picture above. Connect all the patch cables to the DMS

Install the USB cable in the USB slot just to the left of the Serial Adapter Install the 7 foot orange cable into port 3 of the 5 Port Gigabit Switch Install the 7 foot white cable into port 1 of the 5 Port Gigabit Switch Install the 3 foot Orange patch cable from the Aruba 650 Controller into port 5 of the 5 Port Gigabit Switch

Install the 7 foot Orange patch cable from port 3 in the 5 Port Gigabit Swith in NIC 2 on the DMS Install the Yellow patch cable in the Serial to RJ5 Adapter Install the Black patch cable in NIC 1 Install the White patch cable from the 5 Port Gigabit Switch in ALT NIC Install the power cable in the DMS Install the power cord in the 5 Port Gigabit Switch

8) Install the UPS


o Plug in the extension cord and/or the power strip if required o Remove the protective plastic power cover o Label the UPS TableTop Media UPS. Affix the label to the UPS horizontally based upon how the UPS will be oriented when put in place. o Plug in the UPS. Ensure the plug is labeled TableTop UPS

o Turn on the UPS. You will need to hold the power button down until the blue UPS Indicator panel display illuminates. It will display the voltage. It should be between 114 to 120. It may fluctuate in this range. If it is consistently below 114, please locate a different power source for the UPS.

9) Placing the hardware in installation location


Place the DMS and Wireless controller in installation location. Attach USB cable to the UPS Plug the Wireless Controller into a BATTERY BACKUP OUTLET on the UPS Plug the DMS into a BATTERY BACKUP OUTLET Plug the 5 Port Gigabit Switch into a BATTERY BACKUP OUTLET

Run and connect the RED customer cable from the Aruba 650 Controller to an open port on Applebees POS Switch. Ensure the cable is labeled on the customer side with TableTop Run and connect the BLUE customer cable from the Aruba 650 Controller to the ????????? Applebees Bordband Router. Ensure the cable is labeled on the customer side with TableTop

Plug the four(4) green cables into the Wireless Access Point patch panel. Ensure that the cables are connected as follows: o Port 0 on Aruba 650 Controller to Port 1 on the Access Point patch panel. o Port 1 on Aruba 650 Controller to Port 2 on the Access Point patch panel o Port 2 on Aruba 650 Controller to Port 3 on the Access Point patch panel o Port 3 on Aruba 650 Controller to Port 4 on the Access Point patch panel Verify Port Connectivity. Port 0 through 7 on the Aruba Controller should have two Green Lights on each port. This could take up to 10 minutes for the controller to completely boot and individual port lights to come on. Tie wrap all cables to ensure a clean and neat environment. Tie wrapping cables should ensure that they will not become tangled with other cables. Again; all cables: o UPS Power Cord o DMS Power Cord o Aruba 650 Power Cord o USB from DMS to UPS cable o All Cables from Aruba 650 to DMS o All Cables from Aruba 650 to Wireless Access Point Patch Panel. These should be individually tie wrapped o Red Patch cable from Aruba 650 to customer POS switch/router. Ensure this cable is secured and neat all the way from the controller to the POS switch/router. This may require tie wraps and tie wrap mounts all along the path from the Aruba 650 Controller to the POS switch/router Ensure all the equipment is now properly arranged and in its final position. Installation should be impeccable.

Ensure ALL tie wrap ends have been trimmed. Ensure All trimmed tie wrap ends have been picked up from work area and properly disposed of. Ensure any other trash (tie wraps, packaging, labels, stickers, etc.) have been collected and properly disposed of. Verify that each access points proper individual lights have activated.

Required Photos The following photos will be required: - UPS power plug plugged into power outlet with proper label

Front of Aruba 650 Controller powered on with all cables attached. Indicator lights will be visible to ensure all equipment is connected and functional.
