SIGNS OF THE END DAYS

When the Lord Jesus Christ was on
this earth, He was asked when the end of
the age will be (Matt. 24:3). Jesus
frequently used the phrases like end of the
age (Matt. 13:40), end of the time (Matt.
28:20), etc. Does Bible teach that there is
a time called the end time? There are
about 50 references in the Bible which tell
us about the end days. If end time is so
strongly spoken of, when will it come? The
answer is in the Bible. Our generation is
shown as end time generation before the
millennial reign of Jesus begins. The Bible
prophecy clearly shows that we are living
in the last days of the last days. Jesus gave

several signs to discern the end time. One

of the important signs is about the false
prophets or false teachers who will be
deceiving the people. And many false
prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many
(Matt. 24:11). These false teachers will lead
many astray. They fool their followers. Paul
announces about these end time false
speakers who work with devils doctrines.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in
the latter times some shall depart from the
faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and
doctrines of devils (1 Tim. 4:1). Paul also
mentions about the people who dangerously

follow of these false speakers. For the time

will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they
heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears; And they shall turn away their ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto
fables (2 Tim. 4:3, 4).
In 2 Cor. 11:14&15 Paul warns, And
no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed
into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great
thing if his ministers also be transformed
as the ministers of righteousness; whose
end shall be according to their works. Jesus
gave clarity to this truth in His own words:
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in thy name? and in
thy name have cast out devils? and in thy
name done many wonderful works? And then
will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matt.
7:22, 23). Today, these devil-chosen false
teachers are rampant on the T.V. screens,
public meetings and other opportune places.
Their preaching is very simple and attractive:
Jesus loves you. You must have faith that
He is waiting to give you all the prosperity,
money and riches. He is waiting to heal you.
If you accept, the Holy Spirit is ready to
empower you with such power that your
touch can make others fall back. It is the
demonstration of the power of the Holy
Spirit in you This is the way they fool
the crowds. That is the reason the Lord
rebuked them saying, I never knew you
Ye that work iniquity (Matt. 7:23).

Jesus warns: Repent for the Kingdom

of heaven in at hand (KJV), Turn from sin,
and turn to God, for the Kingdom of heaven
in near (paraphrased, TLB), Change your
hearts, because the Kingdom of heaven is
very near! (SEB). Man is a sinner and he is
on his way to hell. The death of Jesus on
the Cross will not help him unless God sees
a genuine repentance and a regenerated
heart. Jesus declared: Enter ye in at the
strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is
the way, that leadeth to destruction, and
many there be which go in thereat: Because
strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be
that find it (Matt. 7:13, 14). The Lord
categorically declared, If any man will
come after me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow me (Matt.
16:24). People who come to the Lord Jesus
just for earthly benefits are deceived people.
We must seek His Kingdom and His
righteousness first then the Lord wil give
everything best for us. This is His promise:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and
his righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you (Matt. 6:33). We have
to seek God with all our heart. And ye shall
seek me, and find me, when ye shall search
for me with all your heart (Jer. 29:13).
Gods promises to such seekers is: For the
Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will
give grace and glory: no good thing will he
withhold from them that walk uprightly
(Psa. 84:11). If we love God and serve His

purpose, God is faithful and He will never

fail to fulfill His promise of Romans 8:28,
And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to his purpose.
King David experienced Gods faithfulness.
He says, Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the
heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto
the clouds (Psa. 36:5).
These false preachers make big
publicity on their healing miracles. God
heals according to His purpose. There is no
need of publicity or professionalism. God
doesnt heal all people. He heals according
to His wisdom and purpose. We can thank
Him for that. David said these words:
LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou
hast healed me (Psa. 30:2). God heals
directly in answer to our prayers. But
sometimes He heals through His servants,
but that also only according to His will.
Apostle Paul could heal many people, So
that from his body were brought unto the
sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the
diseases departed from them, and the evil
spirits went out of them (Acts 19:12).
However, we see in 2 Tim. 4:20, Paul was
not able to heal his spiritual companion
Trophimus, so he says, Trophimus I have
left at Miletus sick. William Mac Donald
commented on this, saying that this
statement is important in showing that,
although the apostle had the miraculous
power of healing was never employed as a
matter of personal convenience, but rather

as a testimony to unbelieving Jews as to the

truth of the gospel. Similarly, Paul advises
his beloved Timothy, Drink no longer
water, but use a little wine for thy stomachs
sake and thine often infirmities (1 Tim.
5:23). Here he justifies the use of
medicines as he advises that wine should be
taken a little as medicine.
God told King Hezekiah that He would
heal him. But He told that Hezekiah must
take a lump of figs and lay it on his boil for
the healing. For Isaiah had said, Let them
take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaster
upon the boil, and he shall recover (Isa.
38:21). When God wanted to heal Hezekiah,
why should He order the use of medicine
made of figs? Matthew Henry has this good
comment: We do not trust God, but tempt
him, if, when we pray to Him for help, we
do not second our prayers with our
endeavors How true it is!
The other signs of the end days are
found in the Bible and some of them are
here: Famines, Earthquakes, Plagues,
Lawlessness, Violence, Immorality etc.
Apart from these, we have signs of Israel:
1) Re-establishment of the state (Matt.
24:32-35)
2) Revival of Hebrew Language (Zeph.
3:9)
3) Resurgence of the military power
(Zech. 12:6)
4) Reoccupation of Jerusalem (Zech.
12:2-6)

From these, we can easily know now what

is happening on the earth and what is
happening in Israel. We have already reached
the end days and the prophetic scholars
believe that we are in the end hours. The
awaited Rapture of the believers may take
place any time. It will take place without
formality.

warns: I must work the works of him that

sent me, while it is day: the night cometh,
when no man can work (John 9:4). Yes, the
night is coming, the darkness. Woe unto you
that desire the day of the LORD! to what
end is it for you? the day of the LORD is
darkness, and not light (Amos 5:18). Please
prepare for Rapture. Your eternal future
starts from that hour.
