Preface: Love Everybody Rolf Auer 21 September 2012 This accounting is of my voyage of discovery with regards to Christianity. It was written from approximately beginning of April 2012 to end of September 2012. It resembles both a diary and a stream-of-consciousness narrative, this latter unlike any Ive seen before. That would probably account for the often repetitious quality of the book. Its a short book, only 123 pages long. However, I must give fair warning: It has many, many Biblical quotations, and some readers would undoubtedly rather avoidwhat they might perceive as tediousreading these passages. However, the book isnt entirely that: There are also poems, anecdotes, etc. For example, on p.81, there is a short bio piece about me. If you, dear reader, dont want to wend your way through the entire book, might I suggest skipping around to see what might please you. As per {Mark 12:30-31 Jesus:}, I first of all wrote this for The Lord God Jesus, and The Lord our God JEHOVAH. Lastly, I wrote this for my family and friends, and for all the social justice groups with which I have worked. Jesus, JEHOVAH, I do love thee with all my heart, and all my soul, and all my mind, and all my strength, for ever.

I Peter 5:14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity: Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

LOVE EVERYBODY By Rolf Auer ... in the entire world. John 3:16-17 16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved. Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. I Timothie 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord, shall be saved. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Much earlier... Deuteronomie 5:6-7 6: I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 7: Thou shalt have none other gods before me. And much later... Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not your selves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. What is Gods Vengeance? Ever hear of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, which were rife with evil? Genesis 18:17,20-21 17: And the LORD said, shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; 20: And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous: 21: I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me: and if not, I will know. The LORD God Jehovah demonstrates His great compassion and mercy (and perhaps humour?) by allowing Abraham to haggle with Him about terms for leaving the cities alone. Genesis 18:23-33 23: And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24: Peradventure there be fifty righteous men within the city; wilt thou also destroy, and not spare the place for the fifty righteous, that are therein? 25: That be far from thee, to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all earth do right? 26: And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous, within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27: And Abraham answered; and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD, which am but dust and ashes. [Face to face! Brave, brave man!] 28: Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. 29: And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there: and he said, I will not do it for fortys sake. 30: And he said unto him, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall be thirty found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty

there. 31: And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twentys sake. 32: And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for tens sake. [Abraham had guts, thats for sure! Please forgive my egregiously inappropriate lack of respect for presuming to know the Mind of God, but by this time the LORD God must have been sorely tried even with His infinite patience.] 33: And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned to his place. Not even ten righteous men could be found. Genesis 19:24-25 24: Then the LORD rained upon Sodom & upon Gomorrah, brimstone and fire, from the LORD out of heaven. 25: And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. I used to have a recurring dream of this until I prayed that it be taken away. On a verdant plain were sprawling cities; overhead, ominous black cloudsso large that these blotted out the Sunwere amassing, swelling, and swirling. Oblivious to their impending doom, the city inhabitants carried on with their evil. Vivid red fire and brilliant yellow masses of burning sulfur started streaking diagonally down from the terrifying dark thunderclouds, engulfing the environs. The air was so thick with the stench of sulfur that it was impossible to breath. People, trying desperately to escape their calamity, were either vaporized as they ran, or else they caught on fire from the intense heat and fell, burning to death. The acrid smell of burnt flesh coated ones tongue as with a rancid grease. All of the surrounding vegetation was blackened to a crisp. Finally, there was nothing left but a stinking pool of sulfurous, molten, melted blackness, tens of kilometres across. The utter devastation of Sodom and Gomorrah was total and complete. Behold the righteous Wrath of the LORD God! Could it happen today? Why would it happen? Love Poem IV By Rolf Auer April 4, 2012 For LeAnna Im trapped. I cannot talk; I cannot move; I cannot write. However, I can think; I can see; I can love.

I dont want your pity, but I thank you for your help and your friendship. Despite the accident which left me a quadriplegic and more, within and without, Im still pretty small consolation that may be, at least in some ways I am still fortunate. If you only knew how I yearn for things to be as they were, to be set free as I once was. But you cant hear me; you wont look at me; you wonder if you should befriend me. One problem is that very few consider me their equal. Equality has always been a contentious issue in our civilization. There isnt even a word for the discrimination suffered by disabled people. I am 20 years old. * * *

LeAnna, please forgive me for expropriating your voice, particularly without even asking for your permission. Im not trying to excuse that behaviour: However, I, too, am disabled Type I rapid-cycle bipolar disorder (an invisible disability) to the point where I cannot hold down a steady job and I have also often experienced forms of the discrimination described. That the disabled are nearly always extremely poor is concrete, visible evidence of that type of discrimination. The measure of a countrys greatness should be based on how well it cares for its most vulnerable populations. Mahatma Gandhi, 1869-1948 This country is 145 years old. * * *

Ephesians 3:16-21 16: That he would grant according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might, by his Spirit in the inner man, 17: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye being rooted and grounded in love, 18: May be able to comprehend with all Saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height: 19: And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. 20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh within us, 21: Unto him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Lets review for a while the topic written about before the previous poem. Im singling out this one example of the types of wickedness: Genesis 19:1-5 1: And there came two Angels to Sodom in evening, and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them, rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. 2: And he said, Behold now, my

LORDS, turn in, I pray you, into your servants house, and rest all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early and go on your ways. And they said, Nay: but we will abide in the street all night. 3: And he pressed upon them greatly, and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house: and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. 4: But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, all the people from every quarter. 5: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came into thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. Let us suppose the two Angels were Michael and Gabriel, Gods Archangelsamong all the Angels of Heaven, the highest of the high. Do you think they would be less than supremely offended at what these men demanded? Im not saying, Be careful who you hit on. (Although thats a good idea.) Actually, it occurs to me that these evil men might have been possessed by the devils called Legion. Mark 5:5-9 Jesus: 5: And always night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6: But when he saw Jesus far off, he came and worshipped him. 7: And cried with a loud voice, and said, what have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I abjure thee by God that thou torment me not. 8: (For he said unto him, come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.) 9: And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion, for we are many. Jesus destroyed Legion. Please note: I am notrepeat, nottrying to imply that sexual orientation is somehow related to demonic possession. Please take another look at Genesis 19:1-5. What was about to happen was nothing less than rape: the rape of Angels by devils. That the Archangels immediate response was merely... Genesis 19:10-11 10: But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut the door. 11: And they smote the men that were at the door of the house, with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. ...showed their restraint. God is not mocked, however. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.; also, II Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the Angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment: Thus, Gods destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19:24-25 (please see above). I would like to write for a while about the goodness of The Archangels Micheal and Gabriel. Disclaimer: I am aware of Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward, in a voluntary humility, and worshipping of Angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind:. My intent is certainly not to elicit the worship of Angels. As the Angel which showed John the vision of Revelation said, Revelation 22:8-9 8: And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down, to worship before the feet of the Angel, which showed me these things. 9: Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the Prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. I only wish to dispel any mistaken impression I may have given that Angels are agents of doom.

Michael and Gabriel: The Archangels Of God A poem by Rolf Auer April 5, 2012 Angels walk among us, undetected. As they are ambassadors of the good LORD God, that can only be to do what is right, according to Gods Will. Consider Matthew 6:9-10 9: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 10: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven. As God is love, so also His Will must be love. Here, love refers to ethereal love which perfects earthly love, so that His Will, as in Heaven, is done on earth. We have at least two examples of prima facie evidence of Angels dominant characteristic goodness. First, Gods Archangel Gabriel was sent to earth by Him to announce the birth of The CHRIST, the Messiah the Saviour of all mankind. Second, Gods Archangel Michael, ultimate soldier of The Lord God Jesus, will marshal Heavens armies to fight Satan and his minions in the coming final battle in Heaven, Armageddon,

where good decisively emerges triumphant over evil. (If one looks carefully, one can see evidence of earthly brushfire conflicts between good and evil occurring now on earth, the presence of Michael is indicated by the continual triumphal nature of good over evil, in my opinion.) A third famous example is the announcement of the Resurrection of The LORD Jesus. Luke 24:23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of Angels, which said that he was alive. Careful investigation of The Holy Bible turns up numerous other examples of Angels being agents of good, serving God, who is love. One doesnt owe love; one just loves. Fealty one can owe; love one doesnt. Love is unconditional. God: Do. Or, sometimes, Just do. Jesus: Theres a difference between those who appear to be doing something and those who are actually doing something. Never forget that. What might one do? One can always pray, for a start. Why pray? Matthew 21:22 Jesus: And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Ten prayers follow. (I was informed by a reliable source that one of these, once a day, is sufficient.) Matthew 6:9-13 [The Lords Prayer.] Jesus: 9: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 10: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven. 11: Give us this day our daily bread.

12: And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever, Amen. Matthew 5:44 [The most important verse in The Bible.-Jesus and God.] Jesus: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you: I Peter 5:14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity: Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. II Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. I Thessalonians 5:28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, Amen. I Timothie 1:17 Now unto the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever & ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. I Peter 5:10-11 10: But the God of all grace who hath called us into his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11: To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. I Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God: if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth, that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:16-21 16: That he would grant you according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might, by his Spirit in the inner man, 17: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye being rooted and grounded in love, 18: May be able to comprehend with all Saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height: 19: And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. 20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh within us, 21: Unto him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. What might one ask for? May I suggest help for others, more love, more patience, more understanding, peace on earth, and so on; in other words, whatever is in keeping with I John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us. However, please note John 9:31 Jesus: Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.

Jesus is God. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God.; John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (& we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.; I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.; I John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Jesus Saves. Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified, through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all.; Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.; I John 4:15-16 15: Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16: And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. Jesus and God love unconditionally, and want us to do the same. John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.; I John 4:7-8 7: Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God: and every one that loveth, is born of God and knoweth God. 8: He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Dont give up in trying to worship The LORD God. From The NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1544, footnote 7:7-8: Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God. People often give up after a few halfhearted efforts and conclude that God cannot be found. But knowing God takes faith, focus, and followthrough, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded. Dont give up in your efforts to seek God. Continue to ask him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love, and understanding. He will give them to you. Gods love is for everybody. From The NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1565, footnote 15:23: ...Be open to the beauty of Gods message for all people, and make an effort not to shut out those who are different than you. From The NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.868, footnote 41:13: [This book of Psalms] teaches us much about Gods eternal love and care for us and how we should trust him even in the day-to-day experiences of life. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body: and be ye thankful. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew, nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Here are nine Christian virtues: Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Matthew 6:24 Jesus: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon. Mammon is defined as wealth considered as a false object of worship. It seems to me that one must beware of hating and despising, or else one might fall into the trap of serving two masters. Checking The Bible, Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation: abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good. Abhor is the most diminutive form of dislike. Its sort of equivalent to mildly dislike. Another definition is dislike that makes one shudder. It generally equates to avoid. I Timothie 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. The foremost example of this that I can think of is the betrayal of Jesus by one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot: Matthew 26:14-15 14: Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief Priests, 15: And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? and they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. Its worth noting here that before he betrayed Jesus, Judas was possessed by Satan, at the feast of Passover attended by Jesus and his disciples. Luke 22:3-5 3: Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve, 4: And he went his way, and communed with the chief Priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. 5: And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

As A Child, I Dreamt Of The Crucifixion A confession by Rolf Auer April 8, 2012; Easter I was about seven or eight years old. One of my parents took a photo of me around that time proudly wearing my favourite baseball cap to bed, intending to fall asleep with it on. I dont know if it was a waking dream I had. I was at the outer edge of a kind of grassy, muddy field. Off in the distance were crosses, altogether three, I think. I could barely see the man on the centre cross, he was so far away. There was no blood on him evident from where I was. I could tell by his position that he was in great pain. There was something on his headI couldnt make it out. He wore a purple robe, I think. Did I ask to look at this? I cant rememberI might have. Suddenly, my Mother appeared between the man on the cross and menearer to the cross. Filth! she yelled. I woke up, or came to, abruptly. It took me a long, long time to figure out why my Mother shouted that particular expression. It was because Satan had planned and executed the Crucifixion. I dont know if other people did what I did, too, or how we appeared to The CHRIST, The Messiah, The good LORD God Jesus. Were it happening to me, their mawkish gawking maybe would have made me feel like I was in some kind of transdimensional three-ring circus at the crossroads of time. In itself, the Crucifixion would have been excruciatingly unbearable, but to also have that type of dreamworld rubbernecking going on at the same time, as if some kind of mind/time-traveling paparazzi were collecting material for a cheap sensationalist expos, was nothing less than spiritual violation, I Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans wisdom teacheth, but which the holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.; John 15:26 Jesus: But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. I should not have been viewing this. Children can be cruel. At least they have the excuse of not knowing any better. Too often, adults can likewise be unmerciful. They, however, should know better. Schadenfreude? The Resurrection Of Jesus April 8, 2012; Easter Three days after being crucified, Jesus, Son of God, was resurrected by His Heavenly Father, The LORD God Jehovah. Two Angels (The Archangels Michael and Gabriel?) gave the joyful news: Luke 24:4-7,23 4: And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6: He is not here, but is risen: Remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7: Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third

11

day rise again. 23: And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of Angels, which said that he was alive. Jesus appeared before His disciples: Luke 24:36-39, 46-47, 51-53 36: And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and sayeth unto them, Peace be unto you. 37: But they were terrified, and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38: And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled, and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39: Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I my self: handle me, and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 46: And said unto them, Thus it is written, & thus it behooved Christ to suffer, & to rise from the dead the third day: 47: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his Name, among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 51: And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. 52: And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem, with great joy: 53: And were continually in the Temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. Jesussin freedied for us, taking all of our sins upon Himself, so that we might have salvation, if we have faith in Him, which works by love. I Peter 2:21-22 21: For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. 22: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified, through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. I John 2:1-2 1: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Romans 5:1-2 1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2: By whom also we have access by faith, into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 10:9,13 9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 13: For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord, shall be saved. Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. I Timothie 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Temperance, patience equate to self-control, self-denial.

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 9: Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things, God will bring thee into judgment. 10: Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood & youth are vanity. Matthew 16:24-26 Jesus: 24: Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25: For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it. 26: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 18:18 Jesus: Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven. NIV Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1571, footnote 18:18 This binding and loosing refers to the decisions of the church in conflicts. ... Ideally, the churchs decisions should be God-guided and based on the discernment of his Word. ... Matthew 18:15-17 Jesus: 15: Moreover, if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16: But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word may be established. 17: And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the Church: But if he neglect to hear the Church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man, and a Publican. NIV Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1951 Chart Sometimes rebuke is necessary, but it must be used with caution. The purpose of any rebuke, confrontation, or discipline is to help people, not hurt them. Luke 17:3 Take heed to your selves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him, and if he repent, forgive him. We are meant to forgive each other, before rebuking each other. We are meant to love each other, before forgiving each other. Matthew 6:12 Jesus: And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:14-15 Jesus: 14: For, if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. 15: But, if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses. Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another. tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you. Colossians 3:13-15 13: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14: And above all these things, put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to the which also ye are called in one body: and be ye thankful. Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye being rooted and grounded in love, John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Isaiah 43:25 The Lord thy God: I, even I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. NIV Application Study Bible, 2005, p.2278, sin No sin is too great for God to forgive. I John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God. Psalmes 119:5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Therefore, beware of overdoing things similar to self-aggrandizement, etc.

Luke 4:18 Jesus: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me, to preach the Gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, One of the first things Jesus did with His ministry was to teach in Galilee. (This took place just after His temptation by the devil (please see above).) Jesus was always extremely conscious of prioritizing his words, sayings, parableshe was extremely conscious of timing. As one example of this please consider: Mark 12:28-31 Jesus: 28: And one of the Scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him which is the first commandment of all. 29: And Jesus answered him, The first of all commandments is, Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord: 30: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: This is the first commandment. 31: And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self: there is none other commandment greater than these. (Im not sure that the opening involvement of the Scribe is necessary; maybe Mark felt some sort of cleansing of the reputation of the Scribes was in order.) Note that Jesus first emphasized, Love the Lord thy God, and second, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self. He did that on purpose, as in: Ephesians 6:7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, Im only pointing out that Jesus was very careful prioritizing his teachings. Now please reconsider Luke 4:18. Please note that the first idea mentioned was to look after the poor. This theme occurs again and again, both in the Old Testament, and in the New Testament. Please consider: Luke 14:12-15 Jesus: 12: Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. 13: But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, 14: And thou shall be blessed, for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. 15: And when one of them that sat at meat with him, heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

15

Please note Luke 14:13 (above). Metaphorically (and Jesus was fond of using these, i.e., parables, for example), a feast might refer to relatively well-off economic well-being in the world, such as is found in developed countries, particularly in the West. In other words, the tremendous rise there of economic inequality, wage stagnation, the disappearance of the middle class, the inappropriate high taxation of the population while giving corporations a free ride, along with other indications of class warfare, are antithetical to Jesus teachings. (The economic rape of the third world countries by the developed countries is yet another example of this ethically twisted thinking, also known as neoliberalismwhich is nothing more than hyper capitalism, i.e., a stripped down version of capitalism stressing greed as its uppermost tenet. Carried out to its logical conclusion, corporatism and neofascism will be the ultimate result, such that governments will primarily be subject to economic whimsy instead of the people for whom they are working, and will culminate in totalitarianism, in some fashion or another; the signs of this happening are already presente.g., rigged elections, faked economic crises (in order to facilitate unwanted social program changes), globalization to the detriment and destruction of the earths environment, ongoing and rising neglect of the most vulnerable segments of countries populations (the poor, seniors, the disabled, to name a few), contemptuous treatment of public monies, adequately illustrate how the seeds of this are incipienthow soon these will sprout and take a stranglehold is unclear, but if allowed to continue, it will happen. Please remember: I Timothie 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. James 1:17 Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, & commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Our souls he does both refresh and renew our regaining consciousness is His gift to us. As dew, which commeth as blessings from Heaven collects each morning as earthly evidence of the intervention of the good LORD God: His wanting to save as many souls as possible for eternal life. Matthew 18:14 Jesus: Even so, it is not the will of your father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. The most plentiful compound on earth is water as if the physical manifestation of Heavens intervention has collected on earth over eons: evidence of divine intervention. Matthew 5:6 Jesus: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Those who thirst after perfect and pure love shall be quenched. Revelation 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as Crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God, and of the Lamb. A crystal clearas from The CHRISTriver of water, a river of eternal life awaits those who keep their faith, who keep the words of God close to their hearts, and souls, and minds, and strength. I John 1:5,7 5: This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Light enables us to see our reflections in mirrors. What are we looking at, as we are thus enabled at the discretion of the good LORD God?

17

Is it our souls refracted from a different angle on this earthly plane of existence? Light, passing through droplets of water in the air, can also be refracted. What exactly does its result, the rainbow, signify? Does it harken back to one of the earliest Covenants of the good LORD God? Genesis 9:13-16 The Lord thy God: 13: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant, between me and the earth. 14: And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud. 15: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you, and every living creature of all flesh: and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16: And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature, of all flesh that is upon the earth. To keep the words of the good LORD God close: John 8:47 Jesus: He that is of God, heareth Gods words: ye therefore hear them not, because you are not of God. John 14:23 Jesus: Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Luke 11:28 Jesus: But he said, Yea, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. As the dew, one sign of Heaven, arrives everyday, Matthew 6:10 Jesus: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven. So might we thus celebrate this with our meals by saying grace: John 6:51,54 51: I am the living bread, which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of this world. 54: Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

18

Remember, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. I John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Therefore, I Timothie 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. And, Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind: And, John 14:6 Jesus: Jesus said unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man commeth unto the Father but by me. John 12:46 Jesus: I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me, should not abide in darkness. An orchid about to receive a needed shower of rain. What is the first flower or blossom you picture when you think of love? Friendships dont automatically become love, as seeds dont necessarily germinate, so why does love develop? Is it a kind of yearning for fulfillment of discovery of identity to be found reflected in anothers eyes and thoughts? Does ones yearning heighten perception thus intensifying reality so that its beauty is more apparent? Do you love when you first picture a flower or blossom? What about a rain shower to an orchid in need of water? Did the rain come from clouds coming out of nowhere across a light blue sky? What was that artwork and who painted it? Would you look at it again?

Perfect Love A verse poem by Rolf Auer April 11-12, 2012 I John 4:16-19 16: And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17: Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of Judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. 18: There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment: he that feareth, is not made perfect in love. 19: We love him: because he first loved us. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covereth all sins. Romans 5:1-5 1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2: By whom also we have access by faith, into this grace wherein we stand, rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3: And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience: 4: And patience, experience: and experience, hope: 5: And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the holy Ghost, which is given unto us. I Corinthians 12:3-4 3: Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost. 4: Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day redemption. John 14:26 Jesus: But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, & bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. John 15:26 Jesus: But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.

21

Luke 3:22 And the holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a Dove upon him, and a voice came from the heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved son, in thee I am well pleased. II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Galatians 5:13-14 13: For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty, only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14: For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self. Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye being rooted and grounded in love, I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. With Respect To Faith In Jesus and God Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. I Peter 1:3-5 3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4: To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord, shall be saved.

22

Romans 10:17 So then, faith commeth by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Galatians 5:5-6 5: For we through the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness through faith. 6: For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that commeth to God, must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. I Peter 5:9-11 9: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10: But the God of all grace who hath called us into his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11: To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude, that a man is justified by faith, with the deeds of the Law. Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the Law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Romans 5:1-2 1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2: By whom also we have access by faith, into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. John 12:44-50 44: Jesus cried, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45: And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me. 46: I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me, should not abide in darkness. 47: And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not; For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48: He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49: For I have not spoken of my self; the the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment what I should say, and what I should speak. 50: And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

23

If you should lose faith, please do not remain an apostate; rather, please pray for forgiveness. (Above, ten prayers are recorded.)

A poem for God, my friend By Rolf Auer April 18, 2012 We know that God is love. We know that the Spirit of God is in us until the last day. I John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. We who believe in God believe that we dwell in God; that is, that we dwell in love. We who believe in God are therefore friends of God. The stars testify as to His existence. The earth testifies as to His existence. Earthly love testifies as to His existence. Pristine Nature avows His existence. How life begins and grows avows to His existence. That light is composed of colours avows to His existence. That I see in colours avows to His existence. Colours: what I like are the gray criss-cross straws all around the fields of rural greens and the grounds of rustic browns. God is everywhere and He is unfailingly with me wherever I am. I am but ashes and dust but He will be with me at the end for He is my friend.

Matthew 5:7 Jesus: Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:3 Jesus: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10 Jesus: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The above verses are three of the very first statements by Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount. These are very nearly at the core of Christianity; Christians are supposed to strive to have mercy, they canif not in themselves find others who are poor in spirit and help them; and they can be persecuted for righteousness sake: this last is spoken from firsthand experience. I am a Christian. I do the works of Jesus. I try to save as many people as possible for eternal life. John 15:12-14 Jesus: 12: This is my Commandment: that ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13: No greater love hath a man then this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14: Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. John 14:6 Jesus: Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man commeth unto the Father but by me.

From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1769, footnote 14:5,6 This is one of the most basic and important passages in Scripture. How can we know the way to God? Only through Jesus. Jesus is the way because he is both God and man. By uniting our lives with his, we are united with God. Trust Jesus to take you to the Father, and all the benefits of being Gods child will be yours. Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation: I will trust, and not be afraid; for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song, he is also become my salvation. I Peter 5:10-11 10: But the God of all grace who hath called us into his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11: To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. April 20, 2012 Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour, From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1961, footnote 1:3-5 Gods plan all along was to save us by Jesus death. We have been rescued from the power of this present evil agea world ruled by Satan and full of cruelty, tragedy, temptation, and deception. Being rescued from this evil age doesnt mean that awe are taken out of it, but that we are no longer enslaved to it. You were saved to live for God. Does your life reflect your gratitude for being rescued? Have you transferred your loyalty from this world to Christ? Matthew 16:25 Jesus: For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it. From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1568, footnote 16:25 ... If we try to save our physical life from death, pain, or discomfort, we may risk losing our true eternal life. If we protect ourselves from pain, we begin to die spiritually and emotionally. Our lives turn inward, and we lose our intended purpose. When we give our lives in service to Christ, however, we discover the real purpose of living. Romans 12:6-19 6: Having then gifts, differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophecy according to the proportion of faith. 7: Or ministry, let us wait, on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching: 8: Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity: he that ruleth, with diligence: he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9: Let love be without dissimulation: abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.

10: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love, in honour preferring one another. 11: Not slothful in business: fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. 12: Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer. 13: Distributing to the necessity of Saints; given to hospitality. 14: Bless them which persecute you, bless, and curse not. 15: Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16: Be of same mind towards another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17: Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18: If it be possible, as much as lyeth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19: Dearly beloved, avenge not your selves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:14 For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self. John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Jesus Unified The Old Law And The New Law April 21, 2012 Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmitie, even the Law of Commandments contained in Ordinances, for to make in himself, of twaine, one new man, for making peace. From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1979, footnote 2:15 By his death, Christ ended the angry resentment between Jews and Gentiles, caused by the Jewish laws that favored the Jews and excluded the Gentiles. Christ died to abolish that whole system of Jewish laws. Then he took the two groups that had been opposed to each other and made them parts of himself. [one new man] means that Christ made a single entity or person out of the two. Thus he fused all believers together to become one in himself.

Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ, by the Gospel: From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1980, footnote 3:5,6 Gods plan was hidden from previous generations, not because God wanted to keep something hidden from his people, but because he would reveal it to everyone in his perfect timing. God planned to have Jews and Gentiles comprise one body, the church. It was known in the Old Testament that Gentiles would receive salvation. (Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou may be my salvation, unto the end of the earth.); but it was never revealed in the Old Testament that all Gentile and Jewish believers would become equal in the body of Christ. Yet this equality was accomplished when Jesus destroyed the dividing wall and created the [one new man]. Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have an access by one Spirit unto the Father. From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1979, footnote 2:18 ... Both Jews and Gentiles are now free to come to God through Christ. ... Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion on over you, for ye are not under the Law, but under Grace. Ephesians 2:4-8 4: But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5: Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) 6: And hath raised us up together, and made us fit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7: That in the ages to come, he might show the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus. 8: For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (& we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 10:30 Jesus: I and my father are one.

Love And Friendship April 21, 2012 John 15:12-14 Jesus: 12: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14: Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. From the NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1772, footnote 15:12,13,15 We are to love each other as Jesus loved us, and he loved us enough to give his life for us. We may not have to die for someone, but there are other ways to practice sacrificial love: listening, helping, encouraging, giving. Think of someone in particular who needs this kind of love today. Give all the love you can, and then try to give a little more. Because Jesus Christ is Lord and Master, he should call us servants; instead he calls us friends. How comforting and reassuring to be chosen as Christs friends. Because he is Lord and Master, we owe him our unqualified obedience, but most of all, Jesus asks us to obey him because we love him. John 13:14 Jesus: If I then your Lord and Master have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one anothers feet. Revelation 21:1-4 1: And I saw a new heaven, and a new earth: for the first heaven, and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea. 2: And I John saw the holy City, new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3: And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the Tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Speak in my heart, with truth, for you alone speak thus. I will leave them outside, blowing into the dust and raising up dirt into their own eyes. I will enter into my chamber and there I will sing songs of love to you, groaning with unspeakable groanings on my pilgrimage, and remembering Jerusalem, with heart lifted up towards it Jerusalem my country, Jerusalem my

Gods Will Is Love For Ever For All A poem by Rolf Auer May 4-5, 2012 We are one of the few species on this planet that can see in colour. That in itself is proof of Gods love for us. God is love and He is above us and through us and in us all. Sightless fish were found in pools of water at the bottom of caves. That they had no sight didnt make them any less able to swim although they couldnt see where they were. Even though we have eyes that see in colour, we cannot see visible evidence of God, Who is love. Sightless fish swimming in Gods love, can we say absolutely He is not there?

41

Isnt being alive proof enough that He exists? We cannot see past our deaths does that mean there is nothing beyond? God is love. Do you think He created us merely to live and merely to die? Open your eyes, open your heart: God wants us to live for ever. By The Spirit Which He Hath Given Us May 7, 2012 I John 3:20-24 20: For if our heart condemn us, God is greater then our heart, and knoweth all things. 21: Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then we have confidence towards God. 22: And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandment, and do things that are pleasing in his sight. 23: And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the Name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24: And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him: and hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the spirit which he hath given us. I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. John 3:16 For God so loved that world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. John 14:16,26 Jesus: 14: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, and he shall abide with you for ever, 26: But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, & bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 15:26 Jesus: But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, he shall testify of me. I Corinthians 2:12-14 12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans wisdom teacheth, but which the holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. I John 5:14 And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us. John 9:31 Jesus: Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.

Requiescat In Pace Ludwig Auer, My Father March 9, 2011 A poem by Rolf Auer May 9, 2012 My father was a good man. He was a kind person. He loved his family dearly. He liked to work with his hands. He liked to build patios, gardens: he loved the environment. He liked to design and build things as out of wood. Though an extremely strong man, he was a pacifist. He always liked to please forgive the usage of this word spoil his children. On Christmas and Birthdays, he was wonderfully generous. He had a subtle, understated sense of humour. He wouldnt permit the usage of a word unless it was in the dictionary. 45

I once used chintzy to describe something. Is that a word? he asked. I looked it up. Sure enough, it was. As if to belabor the point, the next opportunity he had to use it, he did. I never used it again. He was well versed in the classics. He had learned Latin and Greek when he was in school. Im not sure who his favourite philosopher was. It could have been Schopenhauer, it could have been Nietzsche. I remember one time he tried to use reverse psychology to entice me to read The Critique Of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant. I wasnt having any part of it. He gave me an appreciation for etymology by quoting from memory Latin and Greek roots of words. He taught me how to read at a very early age. He would regularly read bedtime stories to us children, often translating them from German to English. He also taught me how to write. And, he drilled me on the multiplication tables until I had them down pat. He worked himself so much I often wondered where he got all his energy. One time, when he threw out his back, I received a call

to come cut the lawn for him. As I walked through my parents living room, he was recuperating on the couch. Planning on lying around all day? I joked. He nearly jumped off the couch to get at me. I nearly jumped out of my skin. He settled back, with a satisfied smile. I miss him so much. Ill always have loving memories of him, and Ill always love him. Aside from it being the shortest verse in The Bible (and therefore the quickest prayer, since every verse in The Bible is a prayer), it also marks a special circumstance: Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Even while mortal, The Lord God Jesus had the same abilities as His Father, The Lord God Jehovah. Some verses follow: John 11:39-44 39: Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40: Jesus said unto her, Said I not unto thee, that if thou would believe, thou should see the glory of God? 41: Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lift up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee, that thou hast heard me. 42: And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by, I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43: And when he thus had spoken, he cryed with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44: And he that was dead, came forth, bound hand & foot with grave-clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. We know the Scriptures state that Jesuswhile mortalwas able to do the works of his Father. John 5:19,21 19: Then answered Jesus, and said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, The son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also do the son likewise. 21: For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickened them: even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. Ephesians 2:4-8 4: But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5: Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved) 51

6: And hath raised us up together, and made us fit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7: That in the ages to come, he might show the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus. 8: For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God: As Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, so also did The Lord God Jehovah, The Almighty Father of His Son, Jesus Christ, raise his Son from the dead. I John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be propitiation for our sins. The following verse explains the topmost priority of Jesus teachings: John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

58

Forgiveness is the second highest priority of Jesus teachings. Please note that the forgiveness verses (Matthew 6:14-15) immediately follow the Lords Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), further emphasizing their high priority. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Matthew 6:14-15 Jesus: 14: For, if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. 15: But, if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses. Rebuking is possibly a third priority in Jesus teachings, after the first two. from the NIV Application Study Bible, 2005, p. 1951: Sometimes rebuke is necessary, but it must be used with caution. The purpose of any rebuke, confrontation, or discipline is to help people, not hurt them. Matthew 16:26-27 Jesus: 26: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27: For the son of man shall come in the glory of his father, with his Angels: and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Revelation 20:12-13 12: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God: and the books were opened: & another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it: and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Salvation Of Your Own Making May 25, 2012 I Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God: if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth, that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Luke 22:19-20 Jesus: 19: And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you, this do in remembrance of me. 20: Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you. [This last set of verses Ive heard in Church, and in that order observed.] I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love.

Jesus: Thou Shalt Be With Me June 7, 2012 The following verses are about The Crucifixion: Luke 23:39-43 39: And one of the malefactors, which were hanged, railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thy self and us. 40: But the other anwering, rebuked him, saying, Doest not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41: And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds, but this man has done nothing amiss. 42: And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou commest into thy kingdom. 43: And Jesus said unto him, Verily, I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in Paradise. From No Thing Shall Be Impossible, book (inc.), by Rolf Auer, Chapter 1: Its a saying of mine: once youre with God, youre always with God. As it is written in Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified, through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (The latter can be defined as being freed from sin forever, or in other words, salvation.) Phrasing this a little differently: once youre with Love, youre always with Love and who could argue against this? I know whose side Im on: Gods. I love The One True God who is love, only and forever. Heavenly Melodious Angels By Rolf Auer June 8, 2012 The Angels lyrical singing only could have come from the Kingdom of Heaven, from the Kingdom of God. Unearthly it was, not of this world. The beauty of their ethereal harmonies was deeply moving. They sang of love, of perfect love, which can come only from God. So powerful an impression this experience had on me that it immediately, significantly strengthened my faiththat is, my belief in Jesus and in God. As per James 1:17 Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, & commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning., God Himself must have been conducting their singing. Their voices were incredibly, ineffably beautiful. I woke up thinking: Why am I still here? (Undoubtedly an unintentional side effect.) It was both joyful and inspiring.

Brief as it was, so strong was its influence on me that it was unforgettable. It was sheer glory, incomparable to any singing Ive ever heard. Was it from another time? Could I have had the transcendent privilege of hearing the Angels singing when Christ, The Messiah, was born? When One Asks For Forgiveness And Is Not Forgiven June 9, 2012 Matthew 5:39 Jesus: But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. Matthew 5:11 Jesus: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Proverbs 19:11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger: and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. Ephesians 4:31-32 31: Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice, 32: And be ye kind to one another. tender hearted forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you. Colossians 3:8-10 8: But now you also put off all these, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9: Lie not to one another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds: 10: And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of him that created him, I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love.

Some Teachings By Jesus June 10, 2012 Luke 6:27-37 Jesus: 27: But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28: Bless them that curse you, & pray for them which despitefully use you. 29: And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek, offer also the other: and him that taketh away thy cloak, forbid not to take thy coat also. 30: Give to every man that asketh of thee, and of him that taketh away thy goods, ask them not again. 31: And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32: For if ye love them which love you, what thanks have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33: And if ye do good to them which do good to you, What thanks have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34: And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thanks have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35: But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again: and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36: Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. Always I Love Love, And God Is Love, Therefore Always I Love God June 11, 2012 Its a saying of mine: once youre with God, youre always with God. Exodus 3:13-14 13: And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them? 14: And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: And he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Romans 8:14-16 14: For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear: but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, father. 16: The spirit it self beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. Please note that Abba is Aramaic for father, here meaning God. Please note also the similarity to Gods name given in Exodus 3:14, I AM THAT I AM. The idea of the name being self-defining (explained later) here repeats in a different format, again suggesting the nature of God as having no beginning or endin other words, infinite. In the last book of The Holy Bible, Revelationa record of a prophecy by the Apostle JohnGod says He is the Beginning and the End four times; declaring that he is past, present, and future, all at the same time. This first instance in The Bible of Gods name (Exodus 3:14 from above) connotes eternality. As Ive already stated, I postulate that since Gods name is structured as self-defining or infinitely recursive, it is representative of the nature of God: Therefore, He has no beginning or end. (For who named God? He gave Himself His Name, of course.) This discussion of the existence of God is meant to lead to some kind of verification: with certitude, I pray. Descartes I think, therefore I am. comes to mind. The actual question posed is Prove ones own existence. But is this possible? Shouldnt this question be framed in a larger sense? In other words, Something thinks, therefore something exists. What would this something be? I imagine it would have to be capable of thought so powerful that our very existences are by it affirmed. I can only picture one entity thus capable: Luke 1:37 For with God no thing shall be impossible. I Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. We know from The Bible (Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our Image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the foul of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.) that we have been created by pure thought once already, at least in the beginning. How do we know that this isnt an ongoing process? That to some or all degrees, we are created and recreated in thought by God? Are not prayers and their responses indications of this? Romans 11:33-34 33: O the depth of riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34: For who hath known the mind of the Lord, or who hath been his counseller?

I John 4:12 No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. I John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Gods Manifest Power June 12, 2012 John 3:16-17 16:For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved. Matthew 6:9-13 [The Lords Prayer.] Jesus: 9: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 21: Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23: Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all. Jude 20-25 20: But ye beloved, building up your selves on your most holy faith, praying in the holy Ghost, 21: Keep your selves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22: And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire: hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. 24: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25: To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, now and ever. Amen. I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Ethereal Love Versus Earthly Love June 16, 2012 Ethereal love means heavenly love. John 8:38 Jesus: I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. I John 2:5 But who so keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. I John 4:16-19 16: And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.

I John 4:7-8 7: Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God: and every one that loveth, is born of God and knoweth God. 8: He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Mark 12:30-31 Jesus: 30: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: This is the first commandment. 31: And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self: there is none other commandment greater then these. John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Luke 4:18 Jesus: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me, to preach the Gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 6:30-31 Jesus: 30: Give to every man that asketh of thee, and of him that taketh away thy goods, ask them not again. 31: And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. Luke 14:12-15 Jesus: 12: Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. 13: But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, 14: And thou shall be blessed, for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. John 12:8 Jesus: For the poor always ye have with you: but me ye have not always. Luke 6:20 Jesus: And he lifteth up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of heaven. I John 4:8 He that loveth now, knoweth not God: for God is love.

Salvation By Faith Trust In Christ, Then Live To Please God By Rolf Auer June 17, 2012 To trust in, or to believe in, Jesus isnt difficult: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. Romans 10:9,13 9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 13: For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord, shall be saved. To say Jesus is Lord and to believe that God sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins is all that is necessary to trustor to believe, or to have faithin Jesus. As faith works by love, this ultimately means to love Jesus. Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love. I Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, I John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. I John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. After having established that one trusts in Christ, how does one live to please God? In my opinion, to adopt and live by Christian virtues is a good start. Here are some:

Colossians 3:12-17 12: Put on therefore (as the elect of God, holy and beloved) bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering, 13: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14: And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body: and be ye thankful. 16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalmes, and Hymns, and Spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father, by him. Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Sixteen Prayers June 21, 2012 Matthew 6:9-13 [The Lords Prayer.] Jesus: 9: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Amen. Amen. Philippians 4:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. I Timothie 6:12-16 12: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 13: I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good Confession,

14: That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15: Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed, and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords: 16: Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light, which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus: 18: And Jesus came, and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost: 20: Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Revelation 1:17-18 Jesus: 17: And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead: and he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not, I am the first, and the last. 18: I am he that liveth, and was dead: and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and of death. I John 4:8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Day 35: 60-Day Introductory EditionOur Daily Bread Arriving Late (excerpt) By Dave Branon June 22, 2012 Eddie denied Christ for 50 years and spent just 2 weeks loving and trusting him. But because of his faith, he will experience forever Gods presence, glory, love, majesty, and perfection. Some may argue that that this isnt fair. But according to Jesus parable in Matthew 20, its not about fairness. Its about Gods goodness and grace (vv.11-15). (italics added) Matthew 20:11-16 Jesus: 11: And when they had received it, they murmured against the good man of the house, 12: Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have born the burden, and the heat of the day. 13: But he answered them and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14: Take that thine is, and go thy way, I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. 15: Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? 16: So the last shall be the first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Everyone Ought To Examine Themselves June 23, 2012 Aside from the three sets of Communion verses found in the Gospels, as detailed in the June 6, 2012 entry (Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20), there is also this set in: I Corinthians 11:23-25 23: For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread: 24: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat, this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25: After the same manner also he took the cup when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new Testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. From the NIV Study Application Bible, 2005, p.1927: Footnote 11:27ff Paul gives specific instructions on how the Lords Supper should be observed. (1) We should take the Lords Supper thoughtfully because we are proclaiming that Christ died for our sins (11:26). (2) We should take it worthily, with due reverence and respect (11:27). (3) We should examine ourselves for any unconfessed sin or resentful attitude (11:28). We are to be properly prepared, based on our belief in and love for Christ. ... I Corinthians 11:26-28 26: For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lords death till he come. 27: Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28: But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. Short Bio: Rolf Auer (1953 - ) June 25, 2012 When I was little, I was a brat, a real troublemaker. I remember one time my Mother made me write I will learn to control myself. 100 times on a chalkboard. Still, my brattiness persisted. (It probably still does, even at present.) Very early on, the first major question I can remember pondering was: Does God exist? I thought about that one for a long time. If youre reading this here, in this work of mine, you know what my final decision is... That is, YES, unequivocally! As it often is with brats, I neglected my schoolwork as soon as I was able. As a reward, my desk in the classroom was moved out into the hallway. When my parents visited my teacher on a PTA day, they were just thrilled to discover this. (My Father probably was forced to sit at it, at the same time as my Mother was forced to discuss my overarching puerile tendencies with my, lets say, less than happy teacher.) In my teens, I settled down a little. In High School (1968-1972), in 1971/2, I excelled in the Sciences and Maths. (In Grade 13, I scored 100% on the three Math courses offered, for the entire year. The previous year, in a nationwide Mathematics contest, I scored 14th out of 19,123

81

students, above the 99th percentile. (I skipped a year, through a loophole in the credits system, which was not discovered by me, by the way.)) In a Physics class, we were once assigned as homework the question: What is Time? I pondered this for about five hours after I returned home, and decided that Time equates to Motion. (My reasoning: for without Motion, how can one distinguish one moment from the next?) Much, much later, I found out that St. Augustine had written more or less the same thing around A.D. 380 in his monumental work, Confessions. In the Arts, however, I was dismal. I slogged along in English, resenting every iambic pentameter moment. I tried to finagle my way from Grade 10 Literature directly into Grade 12 Twentieth Century Literature. I immensely enjoyed that class (D.H.Lawrence, The Rocking Horse Winner oh... wow...! (Of course, I then had to read EVERYTHING by D.H. Lawrence...); E.M. Forster, The Machine Stops yah, baby, yah! etc. etc.), but apparently I was having too much fun because I was somehow discovered to be illegally taking that class and was therefore immediately sent back to Grade 11 English. Oh joy, King Henry IV, Part I. As my life was rather dissolute at that point, I resented having young Prince Hal shoved in my face. However, on a positive note, I did learn how to write an essay, and a fine job of teaching that was, too, as I remember. After that, basically it was decades of odd jobs, ranging from computer programmer to cleaner. Travelling around Canada, and so on. I sort of had it in the back of my mind that one day I would start writing after I had accumulated the necessary amount of critical mass of life experience. I started writing in about 1986, keeping a tiny journal, with each daily page divided into two parts: Neologism Of The Day, where I would make up an entirely new word, as in the spirit of a portmanteau, and then define it. The other half of the page was a journal entry of a few sentences of what had transpired that day. In 1997/8, I started writing for the social justice monthly newsletter, The Long Haul. I was eventually offered the chance to write a column for it, which I immediately (or so, thats how I remember it) accepted. I did this until about 2001/2, when I switched to writing fairly regularly for The Carnegie Newsletter, continuing in the same spirit, and I wrote for it until very recently. At present, I write for the PEN (Peace and Environment News, the Peace and Environment Resouce Centres bimonthly Newsletter), and also for Amnesty International (I am a member of the Urgent Action Network. My specialty is legal and illegal murders and executions. I receive two alerts per month, which have to be acted upon by letter writing within a 24-48 hour period of receiving the alert.). I am on Facebook, https://facebook.com/rolf.auer, and can also be found on Twitter as @Rolf_Auer, and on Flickr as Rolf_Auer42. (A photo of me follows this article.) About three and a half years ago, I had a crucial insight to the idea that, yes, The One True Almighty Lord God does indeed exist. This came about after I had on my own decided to study The Holy Bible purely for my interest and edification, and had indeed been pursuing this for what I considered to be a lengthy period, compared with, say, reading a book. (Im not sure how I arrived at the decision to study. Its possible that a statement I had read by the ne plus ultra literati Northrop Frye that most, if not all, ideas found in Literature can be traced back to The Holy Bible somehow triggered this.) Again, a critical mass of learning had been reached, and I had a awakening, so to speak. (I dont have the time to describe this. Besides, I consider it to be private.) In 2012, to celebrate my belief in The Lord God Jesus, and in The Lord our God Jehovah (for I have officially studied with Christians and with Jehovahs Witnesses), I was baptized on March 4 (A photo of my Baptism Certificate follows this article).

Of course, I have a blog, bubblicious42.wordpress.com, which I insist everyone must memorize. Im joking, of course. If you read only one thing on it, thats just fine by me. However, please do me a favour: skip my first novel (in progress, on this blog) titled Shrivel Drivel: Theres nothing in it but humour, plus serious stuff such as urging organized action against evil corporations such as Monsanto, and that sort of thing. Not that interesting. As you well know, theres no place for humour in this world: You easily can tell that by observing our political leaders. Save your strength for some powerful social justice writers, like Noam Chomsky, Chris Hedges, John Pilger, The New Testament (for the philosophy of Jesus (hint: John 15:12)), and if you feel particularly daring, try The Old Testament, also, for thoughts by The Lord our God. (You might start with Deuteronomy 5:7.) If youre wondering about my prioritizing of all those just named, please see Matthew 19:30. If you have a taste for reading for pleasure, might I suggest, oh, say, Margaret Atwood (I read for pleasure and that is the moment I learn the most.), F. Scott Fitzgerald, Lynn Crosbie, Timothy Findley (in particular, The Wars), and Aristophanes (Lysistrata and The Birds will have you rolfing or is it rofling), to name five examples for fiction (including poetry); for nonfiction, John Ralston Saul, Murray Dobbin, St. Augustine (Confessions), Fredrich Nietzsche, and Frances Peck or Anne Hungerford (Im not joking, youd better read anything by either of the latter two, or else... (If you dont, I might have to write something aboutcha, and you wouldnt want that, would you?)). So, in conclusion, thats all you need to know about me, by my reckoning.

The Lord our God Jehovah sometimes chooses others to help him June 25, 2012 First of three examples: God chooses Esther, in the Old Testament, to save her people, the Jews. Haman plots to kill the Jews: Esther 3:5-6 5: And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

84

6: And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had showed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, euen the people of Mordecai. Esther learns of Hamans plot (Mordecai raised Esther; Esther was King Ahasuerus Queen): Esther 4:3-4,8 3: And in every province, whithersoeuer the kings commandment, and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing, and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. 4: So Esthers maids and her chamberlaines came, and told it her: then was the Queen exceedingly grieved, and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away the sackcloth from him: but he received it not. 8: Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree, that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to show it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him, for her people. God intervenes as only He can: Esther 6:1-10 1: On that night could not the King sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of Records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. 2: And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana, and Teresh, two of the kings chamberleus, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 3: And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the kings servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. 4: And the king said, Who is in the court? (now Haman was come into the outward court of the kings house, to speak unto the king, to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.) 5: And the kings servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the King said, Let him come in. 6: So Haman came in, and the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? (now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour, more then to my self?) 7: And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour, 8: Let the royal apparel bee brought, which the King useth to wear, and the horse that the King rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head: 9: And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the kings most noble Princes, that they may array the man withall, whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour. 10: Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel, and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the Kings gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.

85

Due to God helping Esther, the slaughter of the Jews was averted: Esther 7 1: So the King and Haman came to banquet with Esther the Queen. 2: And the king said again unto Esther, on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, Queen Esther, and it shall be granted thee? and what is thy request? and it shall bee performed, even to the half of the kingdom. 3: Then Esther the Queen answered, and said; If I have found favour in thy sight, O King, and if it please the King, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request. 4: For we are sold, I, and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish: but if we had been sold for bondmen, and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the kings damage. 5: Then the king Ahasuerus answered, & said unto Esther the Queen: Who is he? and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? 6: And Esther said, The adversary and enemie, is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the King and the Queen. 7: And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath, went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the Queen: for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the King. 8: Then the king returned out of the palace garden, into the place of the banquet of wine, and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the King, Will he force the Queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the Kings mouth, they covered Hamans face. 9: And Harbonah one of the chamberlaines, said before the king; Behold also the gallows, fiftie cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon. 10: So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the Kings wrath pacified. Key verses: Esther 7:3-6. Second of three examples: Paulwho had previously led a sinful lifewas chosen to be an Apostle: I Timothie 1:12-17 12: And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me: for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the Ministerie, 13: Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious. But I obtained mercie, because I did it ignorantly, in unbelief.

86

14: And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant, with faith, & love, which is in Christ Jesus. 15: This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16: Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might show forth all long suffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 17: Now unto the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever & ever. Amen. Third of three examples: God chose His Son Jesus to bring salvation to all mankind: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. I John 4:8 He who loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. Why I Love Jehovah And Jesus So Much (one of a series) July 2, 2012 R.A.: Jehovah: R.A.: Revenge is a dish best served cold. And mine is very cold. In fact, its frozen. Like my heart. We can warm that up. Thats one reason I love you [both] so. Why I Love Jehovah And Jesus So Much (one of a series) July 3, 2012 R.A. Even if either of you are angry, you are still pleasant and smiling. Thats another reason I love you [both] so. The Poor Are The First Priority Of Jesus July 9, 2012 John 12:26 Jesus: If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall also my servant be: If any man serve me, him will my father honour. John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. These statements by Jesus are powerful inducements for mankind to forsake hatred and to love. Yet, as believers in God, we are free to do as we please: We have liberty. II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Galatians 5:13 For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty, only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

88

Uppermost in the mind of Jesus as requiring attention are the poor. Mark 14:7 Jesus: For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. Luke 4:18 Jesus: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me, to preach the Gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 14:13 Jesus: But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, Luke 6:20 Jesus: And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. Apology By Rolf Auer July 11, 2012 Galatians 6:7-8 7: Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8: For he that soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the spirit, shall of the spirit reap life everlasting. I Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. I Peter 5:6-7 6: Humble your selves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, 7: Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you. Luke 1:37 For with God no thing shall be impossible.

John 14:23 Jesus answered, and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. I John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. Saying Grace By Rolf Auer July 11, 2012 Words spoken by Jesus, while he was mortal, as recorded in The Holy Bible, intended by me to be said by me as Grace during breaking of bread before a meal [as described in giving thanks after breaking bread in numerous places in The Holy Bible, and the how-to of it in I Corinthians 14:16 Else, when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned, say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?], from: John 6:47-48,51,54 Jesus: 47: Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, hath everlasting life. 48: I am that bread of life. 51: I am the living bread, which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 54: Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. Amen. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Fellowship With Christ July 25, 2012 ...[S]eek out older people who have been drinking deeply from Gods love and goodness throughout their life. They have wisdom to share that will help you so that you also might flourish and grow in your faith (Ps. 92:12-14).David Roper, Our Daily Bread June July August 2012, Tuesday 24 July 2012 My revision of a verse by Garrison, on that page: Dear Jesus, take my hand and heart, And please grant me this, I pray: That I with your sweet Love may start Being more like you everyday. At the bottom of the page: Fellowship with Christ is the secret of fruitfulness for Him. Id add: Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against these there is no law. John 4:36 Jesus: And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth, may rejoice together. Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew which is one inwardly, and Circumcision is, that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter, whole praise is not of men, but of God. Romans 3:28-30 28: Therefore we conclude, that a man is justified by faith, without the deeds of the Law. 29: Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30: Seeing it is one God which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.)

Lacuna Rolf Auer, 1 August 2012 How best to fill this lapse sucking all my energy all my thoughts shredding my essence my being and sending it into a spinning vortex of nihilism? Pray tell, prayers will tell as we various gather round a large lake and realize there are not yet enough of us. Temporary, transitorythis a dream, dreamlike yet not that, nor a vision. We will escape thanks be to God, Who is Love. Praise God!

I John 5:6-12 6: This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ, not by water only, but by water and blood: and it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7: For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8: And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood, and these three agree in one. 9: If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God, which he hath testified of his Son. 10: He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God, hath made him a liar, because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12: He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son, hath not life. According to Wikipedia (as of 2012_07_18), the five criteria for this barter system to function is: 1. Cost of service: from the community for the community 2. Consent: there is no compulsion to trade 3. Disclosure: information about balances is available to all members 4. Equivalence to the national currency 5. No interest The Wiki article noted that the most contentious point is 4., Equivalence to the national currency. I maintain that this point should be modified to imply equality between members. Without equality, there can be no democracy.Sandy Cameron, Social Justice Activist, Poet, et cetera, in a conversation with me, ca. 2010-11 (SandyCameron.vcn.bc.ca). For with equality between members replacing equivalency to national currency, there is a better chance for such a barter system to work. In other words, members are not equal in terms of currency; rather, in terms of time. (This system might be in effect only temporarily, until a fair monetary system could be established. However, this barter system would always be potentially available to those who might prefer it, should it be more convenient.) In the definitive statement of JesusJohn 15:12 This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.equality between Christians is the sine qua non. We can learn even more from The Holy Bible in: II Corinthians 8:14-15 14: But by an equality: that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance may also be a supply for your want, that there may be equality2, 15: As it is written, he that had gathered much, had nothing over, and he that had gathered little, had no lack.

Xref.: Exodus 16:16-18 16: This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded: gather of it every man according to his eating: an Omer1 for every man, according to the number of your persons, take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17: And the children of Israel did so, and gathered some more, some less. 18: And when they did mete it with an Omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack: they gathered every man according to his eating. Superscript 1.: Omer: gallon (i.e., 2 quarts). (NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.120, fn. 16:36) The aforementioned quintessential teaching of Jesus could apply just as well to non-Christians or even non-believers. As for those of us who believe in The Lord our God, Jehovah, and in His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, The Messiah, we are meant to prosper in every way possible: III John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Upholding Christian values, such as those found in... Galatians 5:22-23 22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23: Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. ...exalts this idea of prospering. In The 60-Day Introductory Edition of Our Daily Bread, on Day 50 is the entry captioned Will work for friends. The entry concludes: Through love, lets serve one anotherphysically and spirituallyin the family of God (Gal. 5:13). Galatians 5:13 For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty, only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. I might add: II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Honorable Governor Rick Perry, Texas, U.S.A.; and, Clemency Section, Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, Texas, U.S.A. Dear Governor Perry, and Dear Clemency Board Members, I write to ask for clemency in the case of Marvin Wilson, Inmate No. 999098. He was convicted of the same murder twice: in 1994 and in 1998. In both cases, there were improprieties in the trial proceedings. These in themselves should have been enough to at least render the conferment of the death penalty in Wilsons case dubious, at the very least. Instead, the final verdict is capital punishment, due 7 August 2012. I am not trying to mitigate the circumstances of the murder for which Wilson was convicted. I note, however, that Wilson is not only African American, but is also developmentally disabled (in his case, that is, his intelligence is enough impaired that he has difficulty functioning on a daily basis). It is a well-known fact that if even only one of these characteristics is present in a prisoner, these prisoners are too highly proportionately represented on death rows in States where capital punishment is an option. Wilson has the dire misfortunes of having both characteristics, and of being misrepresented at his trials. In a similar case (Atkins vs. Virginia, 2002), the U.S. Supreme Court outlawed the executions of people suffering from intellectual disability yet a decade later the Texas Legislature hasnt enacted a law to comply with the ruling. A clinical neuropsychologist analyzing Wilson concluded that Wilsons intellectual disability in itself would be enough to make his execution unconstitutional.

103

Therefore, on compassionate grounds (and for the reasons I previously listed), I ask that Governor Perry and the Clemency Board Members please commute Marvin Wilsons death penalty sentence to a sentence of a lesser degree. Yours sincerely, Rolf Auer rolfauer@yahoo.ca cc: His Excellency David Jacobson, Ambassador for the USA

I Peter 5:14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity: Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. John 15:12 Jesus: This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Starlit Lovers Rolf Auer, 5 August 2012 Who are you, my love, I wonder staring at the starry lights placed in the dark night sky by an Almighty Hand. Are you Andromeda? Cassiopeia? Venus? Are you blue, perhaps a blue giant? You arent Sirius, are you? Yes, its just that you are a shining red star a wine-red, brilliant rose, smelling and tasting oh so sweet! Philippeans 4:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Love Conquers All Rolf Auer 6 August 2012 In a poem of mine titled Resistance Is Not Futile, I conjectured that certain negative-value words in language detract from positive-value actions such as social justice, for example. In a few more words, here, I extrapolate upon that to assert certain negative-value concepts morally corrupt positive-value epistemologies. I choose, as an example for discussion, the play(s) Faustus, two of these by Marlowe and Goethe, concerning bargaining with the devil for advantages in exchange for immortal souls. Similar writings to these were published from 1593 to 1808 (Goethe). Could these have caused poet John Dryden (1631-1700) to write in 1686: O Gracious God! How far have we Profan'd thy Heav'nly gift of poesy? In the play, the protagonist sells his soul to the devil in order to gain knowledge and power. My contention is that the very existence of concepts such as these can act as corrupting homomorphisms on positive-value epistemologies, such as Christianity (if I may invoke the subject of this entire book as the working example of this argument). Can such concepts be somehow limited to mitigate their negative affects? Any attempt to impose restrictions, restraints, et cetera on any creative endeavours in light of this will immediately be seen as censorship, intellectual oppression, even dystopian realizationin other words, the cure would be far worse than the affliction. So, what to do? I suggest that the best answer is simply to overwhelm the opposition with good works, such that good will out. (I am not claiming that certain paradigm shifts are needed first, such as replacing equality-negating neoliberalism with equality-building social democratic capitalism; however, perhaps this and other more positive operative alternative ideas need to be at least considered. Im not calling for out-and-out revolution; at least, not yet, anyway.) As John Lennon wrote, Give Peace A Chance. I write, give love a chanceplease give love as many chances as possible. As the saying goes, Love Conquers All. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Gossip Is A Venial Sin Rolf Auer, 7 August 2012 God sent his Son, Jesus, to save mankind for eternal life. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. I Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Christ came to save, not to condemn. Mark 8:35 Jesus: For whosoever shall save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the Gospels, the same shall have it. Matthew 16:24 Jesus: Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Abhor evil. Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation: abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good. Gossip is evil. Matthew 5:37 Jesus: But let your communication be Yea, yea: Nay, nay: For whatsoever is more than these, commeth of evil. Therefore, abhor gossip. James 4:11-12 11: Speak not evil of one another (brethren:) he that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the Law, and judgeth the Law: but if thou judge the Law, thou art not a doer of the Law, but a judge. 12: There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save, and to destroy: who art thou that judgeth another? Christ lights the way to eternal life. John 8:12 Jesus: Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Follow Christ. Christ will take you to God, The Father of us all. John 8:32 Jesus: And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free. John 14:6 Jesus: Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life: no man commeth unto the Father but by me. Philippeans 4:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Very important, please note: I John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. II Timothie 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, & is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, To Earthly Totalitarians Rolf Auer, 10 August 2012 Excuse me, please. I didnt know that you think you own the rights to my body and therefore can tell me what I may or may not do with it. You see, I believe and know that only The Lord our God Jehovah (Is. 12:2) and His Son, The Lord God Jesus (I Jo. 4:15, I Pet. 1:3), are our bodies sole proprietors (I Cor. 6:15). The Father (Phil. 4:20), and Jesus, The Word (Jo. 1:1,14), and the holy Ghost (II Cor. 13:14) are God (I Jo. 5:7). Since God is love, and God perfects love (I Jo. 4:16-19), His Kingdom of Heaven (Mt. 6:9-13) precisely opposes totalitarianism (Rom.14:17). Earthly totalitarians, hands off and begone! The Kingdom of Heaven comes! I believe!

Bread Rolf Auer, 11 August 2012 When I was a young teenager, I had a newspaper route. When I would collect payments for my deliveries, one customer typically would say to me, Ive got no bread, man. (Intermittently, hed pay in full.) Sometimes Ive wondered about that expression: Is equating the word bread with the word money correct? You see, Jesus said, I am that bread of life. So, in part to dissociate my memory of those (in my opinion) mismatched words, I now often bake my own bread. The wonderful smell of baking bread revivifies the kitchen. In my mind, it is a most savoury symbol of my salvation. One cant eat money; one can eat bread. Jesus is the bread of life, of life everlasting. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. Prayer Rolf Auer, 12 August 2012 Jesus, if I stray from Thy path, please help me to avoid Gods Wrath. Please light the way that I must gain, Love is the strait gate yet again.

This does not mean that it is difficult to become a Christian, but that there is only one way to live eternally with God and only a few that decide to walk that road. Believing in Jesus is the only way to heaven, because he alone died for our sins and made us right before God. Living his way may not be popular, but it is true and right. Thank God there is one way! p.1702 Luke 13:24, 25 Finding salvation requires more concentrated effort than most people are willing to put forth. Obviously we cannot save ourselvesthere is no way we can work ourselves into Gods favor. The effort we must put out to enter through the narrow door is earnestly desiring to know Jesus and diligently striving to follow him whatever the cost. We dare not put off making this decision because the door will not stay open forever.

p.1757 John 10:7 In the sheep pen, the shepherd functioned as a gate, letting the sheep in and protecting them. Jesus is the gate to Gods salvation for us. He offers safety and security. Christ is our protector. Some people resent that Jesus is the gate, the only way of access to God. But Jesus is Gods Sonwhy should we seek any other way or want to customize a different approach to God? (See also the note on 14:6.) verse: John 14:6 Jesus: Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. p.1769 John 14:5, 6 This is one of the most basic and important passages in Scripture. How can we know the way to God? Only through Jesus. Jesus is the way because he is both God and man. By uniting our lives with his, we are united with God. Trust Jesus to take you to the Father, and all the benefits of being Gods child will be yours. John 14:6 Jesus says he is the only way to God the Father. Some people may argue that this way is too narrow. In reality, it is wide enough for the whole world, if the world chooses to accept it. Instead of worrying about how limited it sounds to have only one way, we should be saying, Thank you, God, for providing a sure way to get to you! John 14:6 As the way, Jesus is our path to the Father. As the truth, he is the reality of all Gods promises. As the life, he joins his divine life to ours, both now and eternally. Jesus is, in truth, the only living way to the Father. verse: John 15:12 Jesus: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. verse: Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

PSALMES 37 Scripture from 400th anniversary edition of The Holy Bible, original King James 1611 version. 1: Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2: For they shall soon be cut down like the grass; and wither as the green herb. 3: Trust in the LORD, and do good, so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verely thou shalt be fed. 4: Delight thy self also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5: Commit thy way unto the LORD: trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. 6: And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noon day. 7: Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thy self because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8: Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thy self in any wise to do evil. 9: For evil doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. 10: For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. 11: But the meek shall inherit the earth: and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12: The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. 13: The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. 14: The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. 15: Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. 16: A little that a righteous man hath, is better than the riches of many wicked. 17: For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. 18: The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. 19: They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. 20: But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume: into smoke shall they consume away. 21: The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. 22: For such as be blessed of him, shall inherit the earth: and they that be cursed of him, shall be cut off. 23: The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. 24: Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. 25: I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. 26: He is ever merciful, and lendeth: and his seed is blessed. 27: Depart from evil, and do good, and dwell for evermore.

113

28: For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his Saints, they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. 29: The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. 30: The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom; and his tongue talketh of judgment. 31: The Law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slide. 32: The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. 33: The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. 34: Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. 35: I have seen the wicked in great power: and spreading himself like a green bay tree. 36: Yet he passed away, and lo he was not: yea, I fought him, but he could not be found. 37: Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. 38: But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. 39: But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. 40: And the LORD shall help them and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them because they trust him. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. 8: An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he lyeth, he shall rise no more. 9: Yea mine own familiar friend in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lift up his heel against me. 10: But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up by that I may requite them. 11: By this I know that thou favoureth me: because mine enemie doeth not triumph over me. 12: And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integritie; and settest me before thy face for ever. 13: Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, from everlasting, and to everlasting. Go into the arts. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way to make life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heavens sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.Kurt Vonnegut, excerpt A Man Without A Country, 2005

The cost of our empire of illusion is not being paid by the corporate titans. It is being paid on the streets of our inner cities, in former manufacturing towns, and in depressed rural enclaves. This cost transcends declining numbers and statistics and speaks the language of human misery and pain. Human beings are not commodities. They are not goods. They grieve and feel despair. They raise children and struggle to maintain communities. The growing class divide is not understood, despite the glibness of many in the media, by complicated sets of statistics, lines on a graph that chart stocks, or the absurd, utopian faith in unregulated globalization and complicated trade deals. It is understood in the eyes of a man or woman who is no longer making enough money to live with dignity and hope.Chris Hedges, Empire of Illusion (pp. 159-160), 2009

Whatever trickles down below the bottom line from the multitudes of us bathing in success is all that sustains victims of privation. James 1:13,17 13: Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God neither can be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. 17: Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, & commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. I John 5:11-12 11: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12: He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son, hath not life.
