Chicken Lickn
Have you ever smelled bad food before and judged its taste? I have judged the food Butter chicken before. Butter chicken is an Indian cuisine, which is served with rice and naans. Butter chicken may not be the most appealing dish but it has value to my culture and tastes good.

Butter chicken looks and tastes. Butter chicken is served with curry and with some chicken o top. Its basically like a chicken curry. You can eat it with either naans (which is like bread) or rice. Butter chicken looks normally like a dark yellowish curry; it has chicken pieces in it. It is also a little spicy which adds a lot of flavor to it. It tastes really good, like a burst of flavors all in your mouth at once. To me butter chicken is like eating at a fast food but not gaining all that fat.

An experience I had with butter chicken, is the first time I smelled it ewww I dont want to eat that, it smells really bad, I said. But my sister said, just try it; you never know you just might like it. I slowly put it in my mouth I had a weird feeling about it; I chewed, and then pause for a minute I could feel the taste in my mouth. But then as I continued chewing, a smile came upon my face mmmmmh this is

actually pretty good, I thought to myself. My sister said, what did I tell you, its good uhhh. Since that day I have had a new type of experience with butter chicken. But I always wondered why its called butter chicken.

Butter chicken name. Well nobody really knows how butter chicken got its name. Theres this myth about butter chicken. This cook had to prepare some chicken dish for this VIP customer and he only had a half of tandoori chicken and not many other ingredients but he did have tomatoes, masalas (spices) and butter. So what he did was cut the tandoori chicken in small cube pieces and mixed it with spices and made a tomatoes butter paste, then add that the tandoori chicken to it. So thats how butter chicken got its name by accident. But they say, the best things happen by mistake or in this case the tasty things happen by mistake.

Mistakes are commonly made by everyone; in this case its not mistakes but the opinions about butter chicken. There are many opinions towards butter chicken. Some are good while other are not so good. The most common ones are, ohhh it tastes good but smells bad, others are like me who never try it but judge it, ewww that smells bad I am not going to eat that, But no matter how many opinions butter chickens have you cant really judge it without trying it.

As you can clearly see butter chicken is good because of many reasons. One, its description. Two, my own personal experience with butter chicken. Three, how it got its name. Lastly, people opinion about it. So yes butter chicken might not be the most appealing dish but it tastes good. Remember, Dont judge a chicken by its smell

Arranged or love mmmmmmh which one?

If you had a choice to marry someone would you pick him out yourself or have someone arrange it for you? Would you want to have a love marriage or arranged marriage? My grandparents have had a love marriage, whereas in a culture where arrange marriage was common.

Arranged marriages are the most common in India. Love marriages do happen but really rarely or they fall in love after their first meeting when they see each other, or along the way of their marriage. Arrange marriages dont mean that whoever your parents pick for you, you have to marry them, your parents will ask for your consent if you want to marry him or not.

If you look back at Indians history of marriages you will mainly find that there are more arranged marriages because back in the day in India your parents will find a girl or boy for you to marry. That was a tradition, and now that tradition still exists, but its just been a little more modernized.

So my grandparents were born in the 30s where arrange marriage was really common. But not in my grandparents case, they fell in love. My grandpa would go to my grandmas village and thats where they first saw each other/ met each other. My grandma would wait by the window, and secretly look at him and blush. My grandpa would do the same expect he would walk in the village and look at her through the window. Then finally my grandpa mustered up the courage to tell his parents that he fell in love with this girl and wants to marry her. Then both of the parents meet each other and they have been together ever since. Until death did them apart but still not even death could kill their love for one another.

My perspective is that both are good because you can love the guy you marry, its not necessary that your parents pick somebody for you and you have to love/ marry them. You could fall in love with somebody also. But I would prefer arranged marriage because my parents have seen the world and I am sure the person they pick out for me would be the best for me. Also I dont want to find a guy for myself and get married to him because I think he is the one for me but then we arent together anymore, because in a haste we got married. People say, ohh hes my soul mate and I am going to be with him forever. But more than half one them end up getting a divorce or cheat on one another. Love marriages are good and all but for a girl like me I prefer arranged marriage.

So what do you think arranged marriage is better or love marriage? You want to love somebody and get married to him or get married to someone and fall in love with him. I told you my perceptive. The culture perspective. And my grandparents perceptive. Remember time and countries dont have anything to do with love, which can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone.

Look its spider-man, no its superman no its Parents!!!!!!!!!!

What is a hero? A hero is someone, who doesnt only think about himself. A hero is someone who gains respect not by who is is but by what he does. Parents hold the title of hero in Indian culture.

Why are parents heros? parents are heros because they educate you, and give you a bright future. Many people say, ohhh thats their duties, they have to do that. Well they dont have to educate you, raise you, or even give you birth but the still do. Why? Parents are also hero because they put you before themselves. They protect you from all the bad and dangerous things in the world, like how spiderman does.

In Indian culture love marriage arent that common, like I said in my past essay. But my cousin had a love marriage and her dad supported her every step of the way, even though other people were like, omg she been with this guy forver, and didnt even tell her dad

till now, what a bad kid. Her dad ignored these comments and wedded his daughter to the guy she loves.

My parents are heros to me because they always give, give, and give without evening asking anything in return. My dads a truck driver and he stay away from home for days just to work. Most of the time he doesnt sleep or even get proper sleep and he doesnt even get fresh food to eat. He is doing all this just so that we dont face any problems in our life. My mom wakes up every morning with us, makes breakfast for us, and drops us home to school. Then she comes back home and does all the work in the house and doesnt even complain once. She cooks for us and gives us everything food, clothes, electronic, and everything we want. I remember one night I needed supplies for a project and she went to the store around midnight and got them for me, and didnt even complain or yell at me like, ohhhh couldnt you have got them in the morning. Also when I make mistakes my mom doesnt yell at me or anything, she calmly talks to me and says, you know youre not supposed to do that, so dont do it okay honey. Then when I still keep doing the same thing she like raise

her voice at me and then like after 30 minutes she comes and hugs me saying I am sorry for yelling at you, even though the mistake was mine she apologized to me and thats why my parents are my heroes. My

parents always put us before them and thats why they are my heros.

As you can clearly see parents are heroes not just in Indian culture but everywhere in the world. First, why parents are heroes. Second, how much they support you. Third, my experience with

my heros.

Remember no matter what happens, no matter what you do,

people will abandon you but your parents will always be there for you since the day you were born and until the day you day. So whos you hero?

Impacts of
Does your culture have any influence on the world at large? Well mine does. Some complicated but a whole lot of positives too. My culture is Sikh. My culture might not be well-known around the world but it does have influences on the world at large.

Why i define my culture as complicated is because that when 9-11 occurred everyone thought that those terrorist were Sikhs because they wore turbans. Because of this many Sikhs were killed in America because they believed that all Sikhs were terrorists. This Sikh named jeji shergill was thought to be a Muslim because he owned a gas station, some customers came in and called him bin laden, " Then I explain to them: sorry, you are misunderstanding. You are mixing us up with the Muslims. You try to explain about the turban and the beard. They still call you Bin Laden", he said. After 9-11 Sikhs lived in fear. This complicated things between the Sikhs and Americas.

Some positive things are that Gandhi believed in non-violence and thats the way he gave Indians back their country and rights. Marthur Luther king followed Gandhis ways and thats how he gained freedom for the African Americas. Then Cesar Chavez followed the same nonviolence, and he brought Mexican farm workers their rights. All because of Gandhi. Some other positive things are that when Columbus thought he was going to India, to trade with them he discovered America. Some other positive thing is the nagar kirtan, thats a parade where all the Sikhs go and pray to god and basically celebrate his birthday. There a lot of people come that are not necessarily Sikhs, theres a lot of Mexicans and blacks. They come to be a part of our culture, which is a proud feeling we get.

The future impact my community and culture will have in the world is most likely a peaceful and lovable impact. They will be involved more in our matters and we will be involved more in their matters. The hope they will achieve is stop comparing them to someone there not, and they are not terrorist even though they were turbans and doesnt make them bad people what makes somebody bad is their actions not there physical appearance. I plan on helping this long lasting

influence by getting my degree and coming back to Stockton and help all the people here. I also plan on being part of this lasting influence on the world by being more involved in political affairs, and by trying to make non-violence stay in this world. I also want to try and help by making America notice that we are peaceful people and dont believe in violence.

As you can clearly see, that my culture has made some complicated and positive influences to this world at large. The complications were that the were being accused of something their not. The positive things are that they helped a lot of people gain freedom indirectly, and also helped indirectly find America. Remember, every culture has impacts on the world some way or another.
