Astro-meterology of Hurricane Sandy

Barack Obama has warned Americans to take Hurricane Sandy seriously as authorities started shutting down the eastern seaboard ahead of its arrival. Several states have declared emergencies, with tens of millions of people affected as schools are closed and transport services suspended.Experts fear Sandy may become a super-storm when it makes landfall later. At 05:00 EDT (09:00 GMT), the storm was swirling about 385 miles (615km) south-east of New York City, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Mercury has just moved into the sign Sagittarius. In the ingress chart at New York, Mercury is on fourth house cusp the house primarily associated with weather. Kim Farnell in A Basic Guide to Astro-meterology writes: Mercury ingress charts indicate the nature of air movement for the period of time that Mercury is in a particular sign. Hurricane force winds are found under Mercurys domain. The charts are interpreted using the 4th house as the main indicator followed by the first house. 50% of the overall prevailing conditions are described by the planets in the 4th house, their sign and the aspects they make to other planets In Tetrabiblos, Ptolemy makes the following observations about Sagittarius: The sign of Sagittarius as a whole is windy; but, taken part by part, its leading portion [first decan] is wet, its middle temperate [second decan], and its following part [third

decan] fiery. Its northern parts are windy, its southern moist and changeable. Ptolemy Tetrabiblos, Book 2 Chapter 11 Mailles Godefroy writes: Mercury's role in hurricane formation is usually greater when it is in retrograde motion.Mercury square Neptune: a storm-breeding relationship between two planets.
[In our case here Mercury is square Neptune and in the shadow period of a Mercury retrograde about to begin on 6th November ]

When outer planets reach the conjunction, square, and opposition of eclipse degrees there is usually a weather reaction over the places where the Sun and Moon were angular. The Weather Alternative Feb 27, 2008

The Lunar Eclipse of 4th June 2012 at New York was at 14Sag *.The eclipse SunMoon formed a sharp T-square to Mars [16Vi] and the meridian axis 16 Pi-Vi. The star Achernar on the MC at 16pi in Eridanus has been associated with floods**. Mars is at 16Sa [the blackhole V801 in the constellation Ara] transiting right over the eclipse Moon and square its own place and the meridian! Aratus wrote that Ara was a mighty sign of storm at sea. Diana Rosenberg * The eclipse Sun-Moon were placed on the horizon axis of (a) the US Sibly chart (July 4,1776, 5:10 pm LMT, Philadelphia) [12 Sa-Ge] (b) the US Sibly 2012 Solar Return at NY [16 Sa-Ge] ** This is also the horizon axis at NY for the current Tauras Full Moon

Incidents like Hurricane Sandy cannot only be explained by simple secondary factors like (a) a Full Moon chart (b) the event chart . We must make an attempt to discover primary factors that are at work the hour hand of the clock so to speak. Carrying this analogy forward secondary factors can be looked upon as the minute hand (Full Moon) and the second hand (event chart). The Full Moon chart at NY has its Ascendant 16Pisces square the Mars 16SagJupiter 15Ge axis. The event chart [Landfall 29 Oct 2012, 8:00 pm EDT, Atlantic City, NJ] once again has Mars-Jupiter on the horizon axis. The primary factors are of course as always eclipse charts or the countrys chart. As explained above (a) the Solar Return of Sibley chart at NY has its Ascendant at 16Sag (b) the 4 June 2012 eclipse chart has the Sun-Moon on the same axis square the MC 16Pi and triggered by the Mars transit on 29 Oct as mentioned earlier. Finally we need to consider two other factors (a) eclipses can be triggered in advance by transits or New/ Full Moons (b) countries are ruled by zodiacal signs. The upcoming Full Moon eclipse of 28 November has the Moon at 6Gemini47 (US is ruled by Gemini ) and its meridian axis at 7 Ta-Sc was triggered by the 29 October Full Moon at 6Ta. The Moon at 6Ge47 is amidst the stars of the constellation Hyades. The Hyades consist of Theta1 (1) Taurus, theta2 (2) Taurus, gamma (, Prima Hyadum) Taurus, delta ( Hyadum11) Taurus, and epsilon ( Ain) Taurus. Pliny wrote of them as being "a violent and troublesome star group causing storms and tempests raging both on land and sea. The Greeks knew them as Uades, which became "Hyades" with the cultured Latins, supposed by some to be from uein, "to rain," referring to the, wet period attending their morning and evening setting in the latter parts of May and November; and this is their universal character in the literature of all ages.
