Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Vashi, Navi Mumbai Emerges Winner of

Indias First Ever Inventor Student Design Competition at IIT Madras

Chennai, India, 20 October, 2012 Team UKTI was declared the winner of the 2012 INDIA INVENTOR STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION, held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in Chennai today. The competition was organized by Indian Institute of Technology Madras & National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in association with Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software), academic partners ( IIT Delhi, IIT Gandhinagar, ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, MSRIT Bangalore , PSG College of Technology , Coimbatore ,). The winners of the competition, in addition to receiving attractive cash prizes & certificates, are being offered chance to participate in international Events like Autodesk Panorama & WorldSkills International Competition.

Over 1100 teams from various Engineering colleges across the country registered for the competition and we received more than 400 designs for the competition. Student teams digitally designed design a futuristic or innovative foldable / transformable vehicle using Autodesk products. Teams submitted their innovative and sustainable designs for evaluation by the academic advisory committee. The top 12 teams were shortlisted for evaluation by an eminent jury comprising of renowned industry and academic experts at the national competition held today at IIT Madras.

Autodesk & IIT Madras , NSDC played a pivotal role in challenging students to create designs by offering students Autodesks Digital Prototyping portfolio of Products - specifically Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Showcase softwares - to design a futuristic or innovative foldable / transformable vehicle

The objective of 2012 INDIA INVENTOR STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION was to sensitize young minds to Indias Design requirements and engage them in developing innovative solutions. About Autodesk Panorama 2012:

The AUTODESK PANORAMA 2012 is specially designed for students where they get together and share their experiences with the cream of crop design enthusiasts across various countries; and get trained by world-class industry experts to hone up their skills and knowledge. Selected national finalists will take part in a 4-day bootcamp held at Singapore from the November 5 to November 9 2012.

WorldSkills Competitions 2013

World Skills Competitions is the largest International Vocational Skills Competition in the world. It takes place in different countries every two years-bringing together over 1000 young people from across the world to compete in a variety of skills. The 42st World Skills competition is being hosted from 02 July to 07 July 2013 at Germany .World Skill India-India became the 48 member of the World Skills on 20th January 2007 with CII as its only member organization, the responsibility since taken over by (NSDC), set up by the Ministry of Finance under Public People partnership (PPP) mode, to provide the prestigious event an International platform. NSDC represents World Skills activities through World Skills India.

Winners of Inventor Student design competition will compete for Worldskills India In Mechanical Engineering Design CAD on Day 2 & Day 3.
