The KIT Newsletter is an open forum for fact and opinion. It encourages the expression of all views, both from inside and from outside the Bruderhof. We reserve the right to edit submissions according to guidelines discussed at numerous KIT conferences. Obviously, it's seldom easy to know exactly how best to carry out KIT's mission of allowing many voices and various points of view to be heard. We do not, and cannot, vouch for the validity of any opinion or assertion appearing in the KIT Newsletter. The opinions expressed in the letters that we publish must remain those of the correspondents and do not necessarily reflect those of KIT editors or staff. Yearly subscription rates (11 issues): $25 USA; $30 Canada; $35 International mailed f/ USA; 20 mailed f/ EuroKIT to UK & Europe

KEEP IN TOUCH August 26th will mark the tenth anniversary of Ramon Sender's daughter Xaverie Rhodes' unexpected death from melanoma cancer just after having given birth to her second child. This predates the tenth anniversary (we miscalculated in the June issue) of all that galaxy of activities that have come to be known as KIT. One overriding question many may wish to address in the upcoming get-togethers is "Where are we headed?" To some extent, KITfolk must react to whatever the Bruderhof does. Just now there seems to be a newly added shimmer of Christian rhetoric on their website, after the previous focus on "Revolution Now!" meetings and political activism. Although the seeds of the present have deep roots in the past, it appears that the Bruderhof many remember is simply no longer there, the 'primavera of the soul' an eroded dust bowl, even as the woods of Primavera are largely gone, replaced by the depleted soybean and wheat fields of Friesland.
