1. ALTO ALLEGRO
A mellifluous fusion of classical and two other genres like folk, blues, jazz, rock, rap, pop, etc. Any number of songs allowed. Were all ears! Judging Criteria: Stage dynamics, Orchestration, Choice of songs and Vocals. A team of 6 participants per school. Duration: 6 + 2 minutes (setup)

2. COCKTAIL
Entertainment Galore!!! A conspicuous mime with a strong theme, interspersed with wit and humour without taking a dig at anyone is what we are looking for. Prerecorded background scores sans dialogues except for prologue allowed. Judging Criteria: Theme, Presentation, Costumes, Makeup and Props. A team of 6 participants per school. Duration: 6 minutes

3. MARKET GURU
We get to choose the product and buyer this time! Promote the specified product to the given target audience throwing in a bit of improvisation. (E.g. Promote pirated CDs to film stars) Judging Criteria: Improvisation, Presentation and Answering. A team of 5 participants. Duration: 4 + 1 minutes (2 hours for preparation)

4. FOOT TAP
Rock the floor with a throbbing spirit for songs of your choice. Adaptune (dance on the spot for the music played) for the last two minutes by two members of the troupe. Judging criteria: Theme, Synchronization, Choreography, Song and Costumes. A team of 8 participants per school. Duration: 5 + 2 minutes The winners of the event will bag an exclusive ROLLING TROPHY sponsored by V-POP School of Dance.

5. AGAINST MUQABLA
A test of your personality to crown you as Miss/Mr. MAHOTSAV 2012. Questionnaire, GD and Aptitude test climaxing with stress interview for the shortlisted candidates. 6 participants per school.

6. BRAIN BLAST
As long as one keeps searching, the answers come. Get ready to rack your brains!! Quizzing at its best!! 3 members per team. 2 teams per school.

7. MIND MANIA
Maze of crosswords, anagrams, spelling bee and mind boggling puzzles in store!! Bust it as fast you can!! 2 members per team. 2 teams per school.

8. RELAY TALK
Nothing different from a 100m relay. Just that you have a mic in place of baton and u pass only when we say! A team of 3 participants.

9. FACE PAINTING
As the byword goes Face is the index of mind. Perhaps not yours but the artists! Judging Criteria: Theme, Aestheticism and Creative use of face contours. A team of two members. Duration: 1 hours Bring poster colours and brushes required.

10. SOAP CARVING

Its art for arts sake. No theme just art! Judging criteria: Aestheticism, Intricacy 2 participants per school. Duration: 1hrs Bring one cake of soap each and the tools required.

12. VOICEOVER
Give voiceover (in Tamil or English) for the video clip played. Judging criteria: Humour, synchronization. A team of 3 members. Participants are advised to bring a laptop for their preparation and practice. Videos would be given 1 hr before the event.

13. SURPRISE EVENT

2 participants per school.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Students from std. VIII to XII are eligible to participate in the events. Registration is free and the identity badges provided must be worn throughout the day. All participants must wear their respective school uniforms throughout the competitions. A teacher must accompany the participants. Vulgarity in any form in any event will lead to disqualification forthwith. Background scores to be produced only in CD or pen-drive and strictly not audio cassettes. Participants must make their own arrangements for lunch, however canteen facilities will be available in the school premises. The decision of judges is final and binding. The schools are requested to confirm their participation and also send a list of participants on or th before 15 of October 2012.
