Being an incredibly huge fan of artists such as The Drums, Cults, Young the Giant and Tame Impala,

I think its important for lms to have smooth and relaxing soundtracks to compliment the acting and cinematography. Alternative and Indie music works really well with genres like Social Realism.

Admittedly, I have a bit of a guilty pleasure for watching Made In Chelsea, its just so addictive for the way in which they present realistic issues which everyone can relate to, or have been able to relate through similar personal experiences. I think thats why I like watching Social Realism lms. The soundtrack for Made In Chelsea is really good, I love artists such as Tame Impala and Tribes.

In terms of what my favourite lm genre is, I dont have just one; I love Romantic Comedies, specically British rom-coms because I believe American productions are incredibly cheesy! Social Realisms are really good as they give a greater sense of realism and ideology, its easy to follow and are usually extremely quirky and creative. Some of my favorite lms- Submarine, Trainspotting, Another year.

I am 18 years of age and ethnically, I am White British. I live in quite a wealthy area of London and have done ever since I was born along with my mother, father and older brother. I guess you could say that from living in London; it gives me a greater understanding of some of the issues incorporated into a Social realism lm. I like watching British Social Realism lms as I can relate to the characters, specically when it is a female character playing the leading role. I also think it is important that the location in which the lm is set, should be placed in a recognisable and familiar area, such as London.

I believe the most successful lms targeted at an audience of people the same age as me have a greater popularity, specically if including aspects of a teenagers life with subtle hints of comedy. Its great to watch a lm involving a teenage group whereby you follow their lives through the struggles of school work with the contrast to a wild party life!

Personally, I would say I am very creative; I tend to buy clothing and accessories from independent stores, charity shops are markets- specically Camden Market! I stay clear from shops such as Topshop and New Look because they lack a sense of originality.

In my free time, I hang out with friends- we often go to the cinema, go shopping, party and just generally hang out and socialise. I have quite a good balanced lifestyle whereby I make sure to study in order to strive to the highest possible standard. Being a sixth former requires a high level of work, especially as I am aiming for university to study Art and Design.

I tend to stay away from genres such as horror because I think they are overrated and are becoming dull! They have been done so many times as storylines are often replicated, there is so only so much more times a storyline can be repeated before it becomes extremely boring and predictable. With Social Realism, there are many aspects of life which can be focused on and exaggerated to the point where the audience are able to look at current societal issues into depth to get a clearer understanding of others. When watching TV, my favorite programmes consist of Hunted, Russell Howards Good News and any general Sports or any one off factual programmes. I dont take any interest in articial reality programmes such as the X factor. When watching a lm, I like to hear music creating atmosphere to the scene. Often, a simple beat in the background of the lm, like a soft drum and bass works really well as you are able to focus on the characters speech and actions without the lyrics of a song interfering.

I am 17 years old, living in Bradford, Yorkshire. I live with both my mum and dad as well as my older sister. Living in an urban area means that I am pretty tuned in with the contemporary behaviors and language. I come from an average middle class family where all members of my family, including me, work for a living. I am White British, as are all my family members. I left school over a year ago to study Sport and tness at college. In my free time, I go snowboarding with a few friends at a slope near my home, playing video games, biking, chilling out. College only takes up few days of my week, over the other days, I work at Sainsburys in order to save up my money for taking a year out to travel.

Social realism and comedy are my favorite lm genres. I like watching British produced lms as it gives a greater, realistic view on England. Films such as The Boat That Rocked incorporate both British and comedy into one lm genre and I think that works really well. It also gives a great insight into part of our British history. When lms include stereotypical views of subcultures such as hippies in Englands society, it is entertaining to watch as well as it expressing a sense of realism. I think using stereotypes make a lm easier to understand, it also makes it easier to identify the lms genre specically as stereotypes are used in moderation in order to portray the lms genre.
