Representatives from APO were present in the meeting to discuss about UPCAT Assistance. CA SC Councilor Jarred Ansaldo was endorsed by CA Representative dela Cruz, and was given approval by the body to participate in the deliberations and elections. Chairperson Ante attended a meeting with Business Affairs Office. Chairperson Ante: Hanggang 9pm lang allowed mag-stay sa USC Office. 30 minutes extension. Itutuloy sa labas ang meeting. Ilagay sa letter na itutuloy ang meeting sa labas after 9:30 p.m. Chairperson Ante: Sa pagkakaalam ni Maam Calderon, sa basement ilalagay ang USC Office. Chairperson Ante: Dapat accessible sa students ang office. Kung sa basement ilalagay ang USC Office, ailangan may sariling entrance. Accesible dapat, may signal, and pwedeng kabitan ng internet. Next agendum: UPCAT Assistance Query (APO representative) asked for the assistance of USC in securing the permits and sending volunteers for the upcoming UPCAT Assistance. USCs letter head will be used in drafting permits. USC will vouch APO since they are not recognized. Councilor Holt manifested to make this activity a partnership between the USC and APO. Councilor Holt: USC ang may jurisdiction para sa isang university-wide activity. Wala sanang mag-branch out na CSC. Wag gawing issue kung sinong nag-spearhead. Magkaisa na lang dahil para sa estudyante din naman ang activity. Chairperson Ante: Ihahapag itong request ng APO sa all SCs meeting. APO representatives left the meeting at 9:01 PM. Next agendum: UP Summit CAS Representative Bucay: gave updates regarding the upcoming UP Summit in Los Banos. CAS Representative Bucay stated that those who will only attend based on attendance will be excused from their classes according to Chancellor Cruz. Chairperson Ante: Magfaculty hop para mapakita kung sino ang mga umattend na pwedeng ma-excuse. Councilor Miller: What if academic freedom is raised? Prerogative pa din kasi ng teacher kung ieexcuse ang students. Chairperson Ante: Ipapakita yung letter then ask the faculty if willing sila magpaexcuse. CA SC Councilor Ansaldo: Pwede ding mag-ask ng dagdag incentive sa subject kung aattend sila sa UP Summit. Chairperson Ante: Ang laging nilalapit sa prof ay una, iparequire sa prof. Councilor Resuello stated that the organizations being asked to perform want to know the exact time of their performance. Chairperson Ante: RTRs for UP Summit will start tomorrow, July 6, 2012. Chairperson Ante: By next USC meeting, ex officio members need to attend in USC meeting. Next agendum: Ex-officio members Chairperson Ante will give some names of ex-officio members and their contact numbers to Councilor and Secretary General Marjorie Resuello. Councilor Go: Volunteer na tumutulong sa lahat ng activities ng USC. Councilor Go (Her plans): Cooperate sa PubCom para sa pubmats, RTRs, orghops. Councilor Go: VolCor volunteers per org. Councilor Miller started presenting her GPOA. Chairperson Ante asked what Councilor Miller knows about VolCor. Councilor Miller: Place where other people can help the USC and serve the people. Councilor Miller prepared and delivered her speech. If there were no volunteers, there can be no FebFair last year. They [Volunteers] are like stars. Councilor Miller: Support group for the volunteers. They can learn from us. Councilor Miller: Being consultative, USC will allow to voice out their suggestions. Councilor Miller: Expand. Set guidelines for a happy council and happy constituents. Councilor Miller: Harness their abilities, team building activities and trainings and workshops. Councilor Millers GPOA has acronyms HOPE. BELIEVE. Councilor Miller : Guidelines for the volunteers.PPG (Project Project Gabay). Partnership with Gabay to be connected with Freshies. Well-fun activities exclusive for the volunteers. HOPE and BELIEVE through PPG. Councilor Miller: I felt my advocacy to help around people. Advocacy to volunteer. Being a Gabay volunteer, she has gained the experiences. Councilor Miller: Napuno ang Makiling Ballroom Office ng Gabay apprentices. Maging continuous ang LTS para maging training and tutorial session na rin sa kanila. Kahit 20 lang ang active volunteers, stable pa rin sila on the works they have to do. CA SC Councilor Ansaldo: Ang concern ay parang gagawing org ang VolCor. Second, paano ililink ang VolCor sa Gabay? Magiging pseudo-Gabay ba sila? Councilor Miller: Ask for partnership for the volunteers trainings. Chairperson Ante: Nakausap na si Tita Janet na ok lang mag-announce ang Council and mag-post ng pubmats para sa volunteers, pero ipadaan muna sa kanila. Councilor Miller: All-in-one type of org. They can showcase their talents and share what they have. Allow them to help in whatever they want. Councilor Criador: Ano yung magpupush sa kanila para magvolunteer? Councilor Miller: Enhance the skills of the volunteers. Yung mga walang org, pwedeng magcome together sa USC. Councilor Valencia: Anong plano sa orgs? Councilor Miller: Ita-tap ang orgs sa activities ng USC. Sa mga nakapartner na ng USC, sila yung unang iask na maging volunteer. Councilor Holt: Greatest problem na pwedeng kaharapin ng VolCor and solution? Councilor Miller: There are people and orgs na willing mag-serve so hindi kukulangin sa orgs. Acads, there can be people or orgs na iblame ang USC. Provide trainings for them. Councilor Melu: Paano mo ihahandle yung emotions mo? Councilor Miller: I am really an emotional person., but not really emotional kapag planned. Emotions are just brought out if something bad is triggered. The VolCor committee is not alone; it will be a group effort. CA SC Councilor Ansaldo: Paano ipapa-integrate ang plans ng VolCor sa ibang councils? Councilor Miller: Maging centralized. Collaboration and communication with SCs. Voice out. Open for suggestions. Councilor Criador: Best way para makakuha ng volunteers? Councilor Miller: Best approach is personal.
