The Testo mini wind tunnel is used for regular checks on velocity probes and measuring instruments in your company. You can draw up your own ISO certificates using the wind tunnel and a certified Testo measuring instrument.

Measuring instruments conform to EN 61 326-1

Marks licence test in accordance with DIN EN 610 10 - 1 (VDE 0411 Part 1) Westenberg Engineering, Cologne, Germany

Please read prior to operation

Probe holder Please note the following: - Calibration applies only to Testo probes. - The wind tunnel must be freestanding. - Uninterrupted flow - at least 1 m space in front of and behind the wind tunnel. No obstacles, no moving objects, no open doors or windows. - Flow direction. - Probe geometry influences the readings. See table 2 for correction factors. - The conveying rate of the tunnel depends on the air density (temperature, humidity, height above mean sea level, barometric pressure. Adjust if necessary. - Small parts with low weight are sucked in or blown away. (in particular, small parts in the wind tunnel could be spinned out again; do not look into tunnel against the direction of the wind). - Measuring ranges of sensor. - The 0.2 A factory fuses must be exchanged for 0.4 A fuses, supplied separately, when operating at 115 volts. To be avoided: - Quick fluctuations in pressure and temperature - Removal of flow rectifier at the inlet funnel Risk of injury. This instrument should only be used for its intended purpose in accordance with this instruction manual. The warranty no longer applies if the instrument is inexpertly handled.

Cleaning
Clean the wind tunnel with a damp cloth. Do not use corrosive cleaning solutions!

Switch on mini wind tunnel. A minimum of 15 minutes` warm-up time must be adhered to at 10 m/s.

Remove reference probe. Position the reference probe. Test measurement - Set up test probe. - Take reading for 60 seconds. Calculate mean. Ensure that the probe is positioned exactly in the centre of the tunnel.

Align the centre of the probe: - with the horizontal marks in the tunnel - probe axis should be parallel to the pipe wall Close off the tunnel opening with the plexiglass slide cover.

Adjustment
Mini wind tunnel
The conveying rate of the tunnel depends on air density. Consequently the elevation, air temperature and meteorological air pressure fluctuations have to be taken into consideration. The tunnel has higher velocity speeds in low lying areas than in higher areas. This does not have any influence on the calibration of the velocity probes. However it is possible to correct the velocity speed in relation to the respective elevation using the calibrated reference probe: 1. Measure the current value with the calibrated reference probe. 2. Correct the reading in the reference measuring instrument in accordance with the deviation in the corresponding calibration protocol . 3. Using a screwdriver (see Figure) on the corresponding adjustment potentiometer, keep adjusting the velocity speed until the selected velocity speed is also displayed. Testo warranty

Warranty/Service

Dear Customer Thank you for your confidence in Testo which you have shown by purchasing this instrument. You have made the right choice. If you have reason for complaint we will repair any faults free of charge if it can be proven that they are manufacturing faults. The fault should be reported immediately after it has been found and within the warranty time guaranteed by us. Excluded from the warranty are working parts and fragile parts. Also not included is damage caused by improper use and non-adherence to the instruction manual. The warranty is also cancelled once the instrument has been opened provided this is not described in the instruction manual for maintenance purposes. This is also the case if the serial number has been changed, damaged or removed. The warranty time is 1 year for the mini wind tunnel and 6 months for accessories, if not otherwise stated. Warranty services do not extend the warranty time. If in addition to the warranty service necessary repairs, adjustments or similar are carried out, the warranty services are free of charge but there is a charge for the other services in addition to the transport and packaging costs. Other claims, especially those for damage occurring outside the instrument are not included unless responsibility is legally binding.

NOTE: Set the corresponding adjustment potentiometer in accordance with the set velocity speed (2.5 m/s, 5 m/s or 10 m/s).

After-sales service after the warranty time has elapsed

Maintenance
The mini wind tunnel is maintenance-free. The speeds set in the factory can be readjusted.

We are, of course, there for you after the warranty time has elapsed. In the case of function defects please send us your instrument with a brief description of the defect. Include your telephone number in case we need to contact you. Testo`s CUSTOMER SERVICE puts the customer first.
