Proposal 6
This proposal would:
Require the approval of a majority of voters at a statewide election and in each municipality where new international bridges or tunnels for motor vehicles are to be located before the State of Michigan may expend state funds or resources for acquiring land, designing, soliciting bids for, constructing, financing, or promoting new international bridges or tunnels. Create a definition of "new international bridges or tunnels for motor vehicles" that means, "any bridge or tunnel which is not open to the public and serving traffic as of January 1, 2012." I would vote no because the people we voted into power have a better ability to make these decisions due to their knowledge on the topic. Michigan will be better if the people vote no because people can be easily persuaded to vote a certain way. Politicians look at the facts and vote accordingly.

Support of Proposal
Arguments Founder of Washington, D.C.-based Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist, has voiced his support for the measure arguing that the government should not get "into the business of building bridges." Norquist says federal funds will be used to construct a U.S. customs plaza for the bridge, something he says, "is not free."

Opposition of Proposal
Arguments In a press release published in September 2012, Gov. Snyder said, "While the proposal is intended to protect one company's monopoly on truck crossings between Detroit and Canada, it was sloppily written and jeopardizes ANY bridge under construction today that won't be completed by January 1, 2012, or any bridge built thereafter."

Opponents
