Report on 4 Days Orientation Program

It gives me immense pleasure to present the 4 Days Orientation Program- Parichay 2012. The orientation program started on 30th Oct 2012 with the inaugural function. Shri Ramesh Kothari Chairman of Gen Society inaugurated the function by lighting up of lamp. Mr. Jitesh Jain Secretary, Mr. Bharat Jain President , Directors, Staff and Students graced the function. Dr. Manik presented institution profile and Dr. Ramakant kulkarni introduced the Management, Staff, Admin Staff and support staff in a most innovative way. Dr. Ramesh Kulkarni gave the overview of academic guidelines and orientated the dos and donts in academic. Academician and well known personality Prof. CC Dixit gave presentation on Goal Setting. Prof. Bhargav gave broad guidelines on discipline policy. The day ended with students introducing themselves in a most innovative way organized by Prof. Jagadish and Mrs. Keerti K. Day 2: Started with the detail orientation on SIP and MCP by Dr. Manik, GMG is the USP of GBS hence orientation on GMG was done by Dr. Ramakant kulkarni and Prof. Tazeen Taj, Industry expert Mr. Pusharaj Mohanty enlighted the audience with latest trend in hotel industry. All the admin people gave presentation on their respective admin areas. Interclass group events were designed i.e. Collage cum skit event to inculcate team building, division on work and stress management organized by prof. Mahesh, prof. tazeen taj and ms. Tejashwini patil. Student policy is vital component and guidepost to students which was presented by Mrs. Vanishree mathad. Day 3: Started with Kannada Rajyotsav celebration. We had video presentation to showcase the culture of Karnataka. We had virtual guest lecture of eminent personality like narayan murthy, stev job, barrack obbama, bill gates, followed by video presentation on hubli dharwad attraction and life at GBs. We had Mr. Ramani Venkat Expert in NLP technique who with his inspiring lecture made the students think of goal setting, mind mapping and confidence building. Innovation is the heart of GBS and Best out of waste is

one such event where group of students should develop a innovative product out of waste material and market it. Day 4: Started with Guest lecture on Importance of Communication in corporate world by Mr. Girish naganoor. We has had one more guest speaker from first source the HR Head Mr. Sundaramkumar who delivered a talk on evolution and recent trend in HR. Alumni are the brand ambassador of GBS and we had an opportunity to invite alumni from 2007, 2008,2009,2010 batch, they gave a insight about the industry expectation and the learning they got from GBS. GMG is the nerves of GBS hence the contribution of various committee in the span of 1year was well documented and presented by the respective committee. Any event starts with formals ends with cultural. So goes the Parichay 2012. As the theme specifies introduce, innovate, celebrate. The performance by new batch students was marvelous and the contribution by senior in the cultural is also mindblowing. Parichay 2012 ended up with valedictory program and distribution of prizes for the winner. I take this opportunity to thank our Management, Director, Faculty members, staff and support staff for making this event successful.
