SHOULD OBAMA BE PRESIDENT?

When Obama came into power in America it was heralded as a momentous event in world history, he was the first black President. It was as though he was the first black president ever in the world; he was however the first black president in America, there had been plenty of black presidents in Africa and elsewhere in the world. This aside, there was great hope that this man would be a world changer, that he would right some of the wrongs that had been committed by previous leaders such as Bush. Indeed, he said that he was going to pull his troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq, that he would close down the modern day torture chambers of Guantanamo and he would stop the military trials taking place. He was even awarded the Nobel peace prize within month of becoming president despite not yet actually doing anything. There was great hope for this man amongst many. Guantanamo, military trials and the occupation of Afghanistan are all still in place, not only that, drone attacks have increased, causing massive civilian deaths, creating a climate of fear in some areas of the world and above all they are acts of murder where the military take on the roles of judge and executioner. According to UN statistics the US foreign policy was responsible for a million deaths a year on average in the last century (that makes 100 million in total) and yet in the western psyche they are seen as a peaceful nation, in this century alone they have been the main instigators in two wars where we have seen major super powers fighting small ill equipped states. The good will not come from the colour of someones skin but rather what that person implements, the US will never change her spots or should we say stripes unless the whole system is changed, the US system is rotten and whether rich or poor, black or white there is no president that will make it good. The only system of life that has brought justice and good to this world is Islam and if we look to the history of Islam that is abundantly clear. Unfortunately today the whole earth (including Muslim countries) is dominated by laws and systems invented and made by men, consequently we see corruption, exploitation and injustice manifested all over the world. Mankind should be living according to the laws of God, divine laws that cannot be changed or adapted by man, laws that are fixed whether in times of peace or at times of war, torture for example is forbidden in Islam this means that whether in times of peace or in times of war we cannot torture. In western democracy it is also forbidden yet in the new age of the war on terror the same men that made the laws can change them and make the evil justifiable. Military trials are where the accused are tried according to different standards or laws, in Islam there is only one standard and one law, all will be tried according that divine law. We are always being told that we dont want to go back to the dark ages, how could we go back to those times, what if that was a lie? What if those ages were in fact the ages of enlightenment? What if those were the good days and these are the bad days? Does it really feel like we are in the good times, does this feel like a great era and if so, good for who? Why has poverty not been eradicated, why are men, women and children still being exploited, why is there not justice for all, because when Islam was implemented, in our great era, poverty was removed, there was justice for all and exploitation was eradicated.
