TEST!!

Stop Motion Animation: TEST

1. Follow these instructions CAREFULLY!!! You have everything you need to know in this packet. Ask questions only AFTER you have read these instructionsremember Ms. Krieger is only one person and can only help one group at ONE time.

2. Some computers are still acting weird.double check to make sure youre on a computer that works correctly. You can do this by

clicking the start circle < MS Student < Look under the Computer section on the far left < MS Shares (G:) If you have the shared drive then your computer is all set up. Congratulations! If not, your entire group must move to another desktop.

This is only the test.once you have completed this then start following the direction for the making of your movie.

Stop Motion Animation: MAKING THE MOVIE

1. Put your flash drive into your computer. 2. Go to Start < All Programs < Windows Live Movie Maker < Click to Open program

3. If your computer hasnt been used prior then you will get this screen. Click Accept. 4. It may ask you to verify by using a password. Click out of this box.

5. Windows Movie Maker (WMM) should pop up. This is what the program should look like.

6. If anytime you mess up, YOU CAN CLICK CTRL Z AND THAT WILL GO BACK.

7. Click in the center screen where it says, Click here to browse for videos and photos

8. Scroll down on the far left hand side and find where your flash drive is located.

9. Click on your flash drive and all your contents should show on the right hand side.

10. Find the folder with your photos. Click that folder to open all your photos.

11. To double check to make sure all your photos are there. Look at the very top of the box, find the first button on the top right hand side. It should say Change View Click that drop down arrow < Large Icon

12. Now youre finally ready to open all your photos! 13. DO NOT START CLICKING ONE AT A TIME!!!
14. Click the first photo < ctrl A . Ctrl A = control ALL. Now everything should be highlighted.

15. Click Open

16. All your photos should show up on WMM. 17. BE PATIENT! IT MAY TAKE A FEW MINUTES FOR ALL YOUR PHOTOS TO SHOW UP!!! Remember these are large files and you have a TON of photos.patience is a virtue.

18. This is the time to reorganize your photos if you need to. To speed up this process click the first photo < hold down the

shift button < then click the last photo that you want to move. That section should not be highlighted. If not, you did something wrongmake sure youre HOLDING the shift key, not just clicking it once.

19. Simply move them up on the screen. NOTE THIS COULD TAKE TIME!!!If all your photos are in the correct order then move on to the next step.

20. This is the time to saal220. This is the time to save your movie in progress in case the computer freezes, or you exit out

without saving, or anything else epically tragic. 21. Find the little disc save button on the top left hand corner of the screen.

22. A new window will pop up. Find your flash drive by scrolling down the left hand scroll. Click on the flash drive and find your folder. Rename and save it under your group name. Click Save. 23. It must be saved under the folder on your flash drive!!!!

24. Once all your photos are in the correct order (double and triple check!), save it,

25. Click Edit up at the very top of the screen.

26. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!!!! IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS STEP YOU WILL HAVE TO START ALL OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
27. Click on the first photo < ctrl A. All your photos should be highlighted now. Note: If you do not do this then the transition duration will only be set for the first photo! 28.Find Duration under the Edit page. Duration = how long your photo will be shown on the screen. Since we want our photos really fast then we have to change it.

29. By default it is set to 7 seconds. This means that all your photos will be shown for 7 seconds which equals a really bad stop motion animation movie. We must change it to .250 seconds. You must click the box where it says 7.00 and physically type in 0.250 NOTE THIS IS NOT AN OPTION ON THE DROP DOWN SCREEN FOR THE DURATION BOX!

30.After you type in 0.250 the computer will automatically change it to 0.25 and that is OK.

31. Now your movie should be set to the correct duration. The time is dependent on how many photos you took. For example, 318 = 1 minute and 19 second video (1:19:00)
32. Now check the time on the preview screen (left hand side). If the time says 35:00:00 that means your movie is 35

minutes long which means you did not do step number 26. Go back to step #26 and start over. Check the time to see if it changes. If not, delete your photos and start at step #1 again..

33. You can preview your movie by hitting the play button in the preview screen. Note if your preview screen is black when you click play, try clicking on the full screen box on the right hand side of the preview box. It should show up after you are in full screen.

34. Now for the fun stuff.

35. You will need to add a title page. It must have your group name and year on the title page somewhere. Click on the first photo (if you click someplace else then your title will go there instead). Then click the Title button under the home page.

36. In this section you can play and around and change the font, color background, transparency, the slide effect, and how long you want the title show. I would recommend that the title is up for the default of 7 seconds. 37. To change the title, just click inside the box on the preview screen. 38.You can also make the title bigger or smaller just by changing the font size and making the box bigger. 39. This process is very similar to PowerPoint. 40.At any time you can press the play button on the preview screen to check to see how your title looks.

41. You need to add credits at the end of your movie. 42. Go back to the home screen and click credits 43. Follow the same process as you did for your title screen.

44.If time allows, add music to your movie. 45. You can either bring music on your flash drive or convert it from YouTube.

46.MAKE SURE YOUR MUSIC HAS JUST THE LYRICSSOME VIDEOS HAVE INTROS OF PEOPLE TALKING, SILENCE ETC. AND ALL THAT WILL BE IN YOUR MOVIE AS WELL!!!
47. NOTE: ALL SONGS MUST BE CLEARED BY MS. KRIEGER!!!!! ASK HER FIRST. Then proceed. 48. To take music from YouTube: Go to www.onlinevideoconverter.com < click on USA

49.Click to mp3, wav, flac..

50. Open a new tab.

51. Go to www.youtube.com and find your music.

52. Once you found the video, highlight the URL in the top bar, right click Copy (or highlight < ctrl C). 53. Go back to your onlinevideoconverter screen. Paste the YouTube URL into the box.

54. Press the blue button under the URL box. 55. Make sure the MP3 320K box is checked. 56. Click the Blue button. 57. It should start converting. THIS TAKES TIME! BE PATIENT! At this time do not be on any other websites or programs. 58. Do not click the download button yet until it has completely downloaded.

60.Click the save as button on the far right.

61. When you click this button a new screen should pop up. 62. Scroll down on the left hand side and find your flash drive. 63. Save the music file in the SAME FOLDER AS YOUR PHOTOS!!!! THIS IS UBER IMPORTANT!!!!! OTHERWISE THE MUSIC WILL NOT PLAY ON YOUR MOVIE!!!! 64.It will show that saved by the box that pops up down at the bottom of the screen.

65. Once the song is saved exit out of onlinevideoconverter. This is to save energy for the computer since WMM takes up so much space on the computer. 66.Go back to WMM. Under the home page find the music icon. 67. It will bring up a new window, find your flash drive on the left hand side, find your folder; your song should be saved on it. If not, go back and start the music part over.

68. You will see the music will be added and it will have a green bar that runs across all your photos. 69.Click on the green bar, a black line should show up, move that black line slightly, a new page will appear on the top of the page. It says music tools,options in this section you can change the duration, if you want the music to fade in or out, the volume.

70. If you have silence at the beginning of your video or you want the music to start on a certain part of the song. You can

check where you want the music to start by pressing play under the preview screen. Follow the black line through the photos on the right hand side. Click the photo to stop the music. 71. Click that specific part on the green bar. Click split under the music tools/options page. You will a music note pop up where you clicked. Think of this as a new chapter
72. So now you have the ability to delete the rest of the song and your video will start wherever that music note is.

73. Click a space above the music note and hit the delete button. Now your video music should start wherever you split it.

74. Play around with this section. 75. Once you are done double check your movie by playing it on the preview section.
76. Once youre happy, lets

save this movie!!! 77. Go to your home page. 78. Click Save Movie on the far right hand side of the program. 79. A new window will pop up. Find your flash drive and the folder where your photos and music are and then click save.

80.Some of you may have too many things on your flash drive. In return your movie may need more space than your flash drive has to offer. In this case try to delete anything you can or else ask Ms. Krieger to back up some of your files so you may actually save the file to your flash drive. 81. This is very important. We need our photos, music, and movie all saved to the EXACT SAME FOLDER or else the video may not work. 82.It will start to save and probably take a long time. BE PATIENT and do not open any other programs.

83.Once you have waited very patiently your movie will be completed! 84.You can preview it from the screen.
85. Once the movie is done saving I recommend exiting out of WMM screen and opening it from your flash drive to double

check that it is there.

86.CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU DID IT!!! SIT BACK AND ENJOY YOUR MOVIE!!! I am so proud of you!
