Reliable, quality focused Operations Manager with a passion for Fleet & Driver Management,. Having worked with Australian Pinnacle Tours for over 9 years I am currently looking for a suitable Fleet & Driver Management role with a progressive transport company to further my career. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 9 years here but sadly the company has been sold and as a result of this my position has been made redundant. I thrive under pressure and enjoy running and leading a significant size team & fleet. My desire to continue learning and improving my skills is a key factor for me and I enjoy being challenged and working in a fast paced industry. Starting with the business as a coach driver I was promoted to the role of Operations Manager in 2003 I have since expanded the role to manage a large team of drivers and maintain the fleet maintenance records including taking on the responsibility of subsidiary company Western Xposure. I successfully implemented MEX (Fleet Maintenance System) across our operations in Perth, Tasmania, Adelaide, Darwin & Sydney. Pinnacle Tours operates approximately 2500 five star tours and charters across WA each year running MAN, Scanias, Hinos, Volvos & Mercedes coaches ranging from 27 seats to 53 seats moving approximately 70,000 passengers a year. Western Xposure operates 4 to 28 day back packer tours between Esperance & Broome via Karijini in Coasters, Rosas or Isuzus and has approx 10 departures a week. In addition to the tourism industry we also service the mining industry providing 27 4WD luxury coaches charters.

Relevant responsibilities:
Managing & rostering a team of up to 40 drivers & foreign language guides. Conducting regular performance reviews and setting KPIs. Implementing & maintaining a CMMS (MEX). Creating and maintaining a Preventative Maintenance Schedule for a fleet of 40 vehicles consisting of Ivecos, Sprinters, Hinos, Volvos, Scanias, Mercedes, MAN, Coasters, Rosas and a fleet of light vehicle company cars. Ensuring the workshop adheres to the maintenance plan by monitoring all data being recorded into MEX and driver reported faults. Coordinating the movement of 70,000 passengers a year. Dealing with breakdowns and coordinating a recovery plan of both passengers and vehicles with minimum disruption to the tour often in remote areas with limited resources. Recruiting & training of drivers & language guides. Reporting. Budgets and cost allocation. Quality control of external service providers. Planning of new tours/ products. Predicting trends in the overseas traveler market and creating products to suit. Dispatching drivers and vehicles. Coordinating drivers pick up routes and manifests. Drive & guide 53 seat coaches where required. Ensuring we operate according to all Government Standards in particular the Work Safe Driver Fatigue requirements. Monitoring fleet operation costs. Purchasing parts.

Staff payroll (ADP payroll system). Manage tour expenses including salaries & wages to acceptable levels with reference to pax
yields and departures. Monitor and explain expenditure variations against targets on as required to the General Manager.

Close liaison with the Sales Managers to ensure tour yields are managed to optimum

profitability. Ensure the accuracy of information supplied to ATAG internal departments including coding of purchase requests and accuracy and timeliness of timesheet preparation. Continually review purchasing / supplier options to ensure the most optimal decisions are made. Put forward recommendations to improve operations and realise savings where possible however at all times bearing in mind excellence in tour delivery. Safeguard of company assets. Optimal utilization and yield management. Maintain effective working relationships with key local suppliers / tourism bodies Responsible for the implementation and adherence to, on behalf of all team members, the Organisational Occupational and Passenger Safety Standards and Compliance Framework. Target achievement for incidents/accidents. Supervise, support, mentor and develop Operations staff, including tour guides. Provide technical guidance/support on Operational policy and business development issues. Monitor work and allocate workloads in line with priorities. Actively review work and team outputs. Ensure that all significant issues raised in passenger complaints are addressed within a timely fashion. Maintain the quality of suppliers accommodation in accordance with ATAG Accommodation Agreements. Maintain the Operations offices, depot and other equipment to meet company and Customer Expectation standards.
