Start Stage Editor How to start the stage editor


After installing CosmicBreak, launch the game through the CosmicBreak Launcher. Next to the [Start Game] button, you will find the [Start Stage Editor] button. Click on it to launch the stage editor.

This screen should appear.

(a).Main menu The toolbar at the top of the screen houses the basic functions and controls.

FILE Menu
NEW

Discard the current map and create a new one.


SAVE

Save and/or rename the current map.


LOAD

Discard the current map and/or load a map from the local hard disk.
QUIT

Exit the stage editor

EDIT Menu
UNDO

Reverse the last change made.


REDO

REDO a change that has been undone.


DELETE

Delete the selected object.

PREVIEW Menu
SCREEN

View the map as it would be in-game.

(b).Show/Hide Ground

Clicking on the yellow part [Icon Fields] you can select if the 2D ground shall be displayed or not.

ON

OFF

If both [Water] and [Grass] are ON, you can see if everything is hidden or not.

(c).Show/Hide Ground Height

Clicking on the yellow part [Icon Fields] you can select if the height of the 2D ground shall be displayed or not.

OFF

In ON mode you can see the different height by color,

but in OFF mode no height difference will be shown.

(d).Show/Hide Buildings

Clicking on the yellow part [Buildings] you can select if the building in the 2D ground shall be displayed or not.

OFF

In ON mode [Rocks] will be displayed, in OFF mode they won`t.

(e).Show/Hide Objects

Clicking on the yellow part [Objects] you can select if the Team Mark in the 2D ground shall be displayed or not.

In ON mode the [TEAM Mark] will be displayed and in OFF mode they won`t.

*Team Object

The place where the players will appear.

(d).Show/Hide Polygon Field

Clicking on the yellow part [POLYGON FIELD] you can select if the if the number of polygons in the 2D ground shall be displayed or not.

In ON mode the amount of polygons can be seen by color difference.

The more red -> the more objects [polygons] * Due to the PC specs that program speed might decrease.

Controls & Shortcuts

The Camera for the Stage Editor is controlled from within the screen.

The camera can be positioned by clicking on the screen in the desired direction.

up

down

Holding down the right mouse button while moving the mouse will move the camera vertically or horizontally.

DELETE
Press this key to delete any selected elements.

Stage Element Swap


There are various stage elements that can be changed by clicking on the

[Standard Set] and [Apply] button.

Elements already placed within the map will change accordingly.

(a).Object change If you change the expansion set, the object type can be

also changed.

In that case, the objects and buildings will be automatically adjusted and replaced. Unsupported objects won`t be replaced.

(b).Distance setting By changing to the [Sphere Drawing] you will be able to see distances. If the [Sphere Drawing] is not activated you can select a scale from 50 to 150 in the [Radius] field

The smaller the sphere radius is

the more you will see

The higher the sphere radius is the less you will see

By changing the yellow framed field [Environmental Effects] and clicking [Apply] various landscapes can be selected.

Stage Size Change Stage Size Change


By changing the value in the yellow framed field [Stage Size] and clicking [Apply] the map edit screen can be changed in real time.

(a).Changing the horizontal axis X shows the horizontal axis and can be changed by entering a value.

The stage narrows down at the side in the possible range.

(b).Changing the vertical axis Y shows the vertical axis and can be changed by entering a value.

Changing the vertical axis from Y=80 to Y=60

The stage vertically narrows down in the possible range.

Movability Range Setting Movability Range Setting


By changing the yellow framed field [Movability Range Setting ] and clicking [Apply] the border at the outer edges (Movability Range Set) can be changed.

(a).Changing the maximum height The height limit a player can reach in a level.

Height Limit
If the maximum stage height is 10 and if the player shouldn`t be able to reach a higher point than 10 the setting of 10 will prevent them from doing so.

Restrictions in Map
The height restriction is a "limitation" in the map. Players
would be able to reach an unlimited height if no setting is made therefore settings should be made for every map.

Copy Ground Copy and Reflect a Certain Ground


By clicking the [Mirror Copy] buttons in the yellow framed field
the terrain will be reflected.

In case a terrain was copied by mistake, UNDO by pressing [CTRL+Z] How to use button control

Copy the lower part of the map from the center of the map editor
screen to the upper part.

Copy the upper part of the map from the center of the map editor
screen to the downer part.

Copy the right part of the map from the center of the map editor
screen to the left part.

Copy the left part of the map from the center of the map editor
screen to the right part. *A symmetrical map can be easily created by making only a half map and copying it.

Click the parts in the map edit screen and move them by drag & drop.

Things that can be done with Map Edit Screen


Placed objects can be moved in the map edit screen by dropping them anywhere. Also the players appearance position etc. can be easily repositioned by drag & drop.

Multiple Choice
Clicking next to an object and dragging the mouse over multiple objects enables the player to move multiple objects at the same time.

(a).Change layers

What is a Layer ?
Layers are editable canvas which don`t interfere with each other. Objects set in layer 1cannot be selected or edited in a different layer and the content of layer 2 must be edited in layer 2. *When creating multiple maps, a layer separation makes editing and corrections easier.

The layers can be exchanged by pressing the function keys.

*However ground and terrain can`t be separated by layers.

(b).Edit ground height

The more you move the slide bar for [Height} to the right the higher the ground will get. The more you move the slide bar for [Size} to the right the bigger the edit screen cursor will get.

Reflect the Terrain Height


Once the [Height] and [Size] is decided, the height will change by clicking the appropriate place in the edit screen.

(c).Place terrain When clicking the [Place Terrain] icon, the different terrain parts will be displayed and can be placed by clicking on the map edit screen.

How to Place Terrain


By clicking the mouse once parts can be placed. By clicking the mouse button for a longer time several terrains can be edited.

AUTO BORDER
If this part is checked, unnatural placed terrain parts will be automatically corrected. The function should be deactivated for fine terrain changes.

Size Change
When changing the size, the more the [Size] slide bar is moved to the right the wider the range gets.

(d).Place object parts When clicking the [Place object] icon, the different object map parts will be displayed, position can be selected and objects can be placed by drag & drop.

Change Height
By changing the ground height, objects might not be properly shown. That can be fixed by changing the height.

The height of already placed objects can be changed by clicking in the objects and moving the slide bar for height.

Rotate Objects
When placing an object in a wrong position it can be rotated to all 4 directions by clicking on "rotation"

(e).Place lights An area can be illuminated by placing a light source.

How to Place Light Sources


Click [Drop This] and drag the light to the map edit screen to place it.

Light Source Settings

Location The number of lights can be changed by editing the number.

The values are [Horizontal axis] [Height] [Vertical axis]


Range The range of the light can be changed. Color

The light color can be changed.


Light source 2 kind of lights, POINT and SPOT can be selected.. Shadow Shadows can be switched ON and OFF. *The location information can be directly moved in the map edit screen.

(f). Setting player spawn points. Set player spawn points using the map.

Team setting
There are 2 teams, TEAM0 (Team Alpha) and TEAM1 (Team Bravo) Position The number of lights can be changed by editing the number.

The values are [Horizontal axis] [Height] [Vertical axis]


Size Change the size of the occurrence location. The bigger the size, the more players will appear at that place.

The values are [Horizontal axis] [Height] [Vertical axis]


Direction The direction the players face to when they occur can be set. The value goes from 0 to 360 degrees. *The location information can be directly moved in the map edit screen.

(g).Moving camera to a specific position

Camera mode When clicking the camera icon, the player will switch to camera mode and the camera can be moved without using the camera operation screen.

How to operate in camera mode


When changing to the camera mode, the camera will move to the position clicked in the map edit screen.

Play in the Created Stage Make the Team Fight Rules


When selecting the stage in team fight, please select "User Stage"

Once "User Stage" is selected, an overview of self made maps will appear. After selection is done, the self made map will be loaded.

A team fight like shown below will be displayed when

playing in "User Stage" team fight.

After the fight started, other players can also play in the "User Stage".

*You may load other players' maps automatically without having to download them.
