Compass
Film
are
an
independent
events
organisation
and
have
been
delivering
events
in
Bristol,
and
bespoke
stages
at
summer
festivals,
for
six
years.
Compass
Film
are
looking
for
a
passionate,
hard
working
and
creative
individual
to
take
on
a
curator
role
for
the
run-up
and
delivery
of
our
next
exciting
event.
The
Caligari
Experience
will
be
a
multi-media
extravaganza,
a
show
combining
elements
of
film,
movement,
circus,
VJ-art,
performance,
music
and
installation.
Held
at
the
Creative
Common,
a
new
and
dynamic
space
housed
at
Temple
Meads,
the
event
will
take
place
May
17th
19th
2013.
This
is
a
fantastic
internship
for
anyone
with
an
interest
in
film,
VJ-art
and
moving
image,
and
who
wants
to
develop
their
experience
from
within
the
creative
industries.
This
is
an
exciting
opportunity
for
someone
with
ideas
about
how
moving
image
can
be
used
to
enhance
narrative
film,
and
alongside
other
media,
to
create
audience
impact.
You
will
work
alongside
the
event
organisers,
to
whom
you
will
be
responsible.
Minimum
4
hours
per
week,
including
occasional
meetings
that
will
fall
on
an
evening
or
weekend.
Additional
hours
in
the
direct
run
up
to
the
event.
Minimum
commitment
of
6
months.
Task:
In
the
initial
stages
you
will
be
asked
to
present
a
range
of
ideas
to
the
event
organisers.
You
will
then
collaborate
with
the
curators
of
movement
and
costume/
set
design,
with
the
silent
film
accompanists,
VJ-artists
and
the
event
organisers
in
the
creation
of
a
visually
exciting
response
to
the
theme
and
content
of
the
event.
You
will
edit,
and
possibly
create
original,
moving
image
material
for
performance
as
part
of
the
show.
You
will
need
to
communicate
effectively
with
event
organisers
and
other
(above
mentioned)
collaborators
and
show
resourcefulness,
creativity,
and
flare.
Skills
and
competencies:
You
will
display
openness
to
the
exploration
of
creative
ideas
around
a
theme
You
will
be
resourceful
in
your
ability
to
work
on
small
budgets
and
within
limited
time-frames
You
will
show
creativity
and
flare
in
editing
and
devising
moving
image
that
is
simple
and
has
impact
What this role can offer: This is a unique opportunity to produce a key piece of work (possibly but not necessarily to tie in with your MA or study), and become an integral part of a small organisation with a key role to play in the delivery of a large-scale ambitious event. You will work alongside creatives and gain experience of working at a venue that has a hosted a range of high-profile events. We will enable advice from key professionals, and provide a professional reference at the end of the process.
