Abstract

Facebook is becoming big social networking service and it has a lot of influence among Vietnamese young people. There are many opinions about it. The research used that was collected in different sources : questionnaire in Vietnamese young people, newspapers,magezines, and on the Internet. As a result, the readers have would enough information about facebook and the influence of facebook among Vietnamese young people. The research is hope to help the reader known advantages, disadvantages when using facebook, and choose the right way use facebook.

Chapter 1: Introduction
A. Research background
Nowadays, with the increase of internet, there is a big number of social networking service growing up. For example: Facebook, Google+, Myspace, Twitter Facebook just appeared in Vietnam several years ago but now it has a strong influence. Particularly, young people today are interested in Facebook . There are many discussions about the influence of Facebook among Vietnamese young people and give recommendation about this. This research will help readers have a clearly view about the effects of this social network.

B. Research purpose
Fcebook is the kind of social networking service. Bringing for Vietnamese people specially the young people good points and bad points, so this research will help everyone know more about the influence of Facebook among Vietnamese young people. This research has four main purposes: to show what Facebook is and what Facebook has, to identify the influence of Facebook among Vietnamese young people and reason, to know advantages and disadvantages when using the Facebook, to learn the attitudes of Vietnamese young people about Facebook.

D. Research structure
The research is structure as follows: The introduction part introduces general information about the influence of Facebook. Listerature review part mentions some ideas which were taken from previous studies and researches on the Internet. Methodology part shows the methods that are used to collect the information. It also helps to analyze the data relate to the research topic. Finally, Conclusion part summarizes the main data in research.

Chapter 2: Literature review

A. Facebook
Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, owned and operated by Facebook, Inc. Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitzand Chris Hughes. As of May 2012, Facebook has over 900 million active users, more than half of them using Facebook on a mobile device. Users must register before using the site, after which they may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics, and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends". The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by some university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the site. In 2009, Facebook has become the social network has the largest number of users. Mark Zuckerberg was earning huge profits from Facebook and he is becoming the worlds richest while he is 27 years old.

B. Attractive activities on Facebook

Social networking is a service connecting members with similar interests on the internet with many different purposes, regardless of space and time. Facebook features like chat, e-mail, movies, voice chat, share files, blogs, and editorials. Network innovation residency completely interconnected network and become an indispensable part of every day for hundreds of millions of members around the world. These services are more ways for members to search for friends, partners: based Groups (eg school name or city name), based on personal information (such as e-mail address or

screen name), or based on personal preferences (such as sports, movies, books, or music), areas of concern: business, buying and selling ... Profile page on Facebook: This is basically the Facebook page. Each user has a Facebook profile. Profile is the default page for personal using. It's like your home on Facebook. To create relationships with those around you must add Friend (or friendship) with someone on Facebook. Facebook update of the activities of your friends very quickly that attract Vietnamese young people Recreational activities on Facebook: GAME: According to a presentation at the conference of game developers, more than $ 1.4 billion has been paid to the game developers on social networking platform last year. So you can imagine how much Facebook was one of them. In fact, the game genre by the Facebook social networking inventions. Most successful games on Facebook are all free. C. The influence of Facebook among Vietnamese young people

Of the 350 million Facebook users have 67% between the ages of 13-25. More than 35 million users update their status daily, 2.5 million photos are added each month. Facebook is changing completely the young people. In Vietnam, Facebook user group is mainly young people. Most users are on Facebook every time while they access the computer. Facebook has appeared in Vietnam since after Yahoo's Blog 360 is suspended on June 7-2009. Many members Blog 360 degrees, especially students, young workers and employees ... searching for a new community space on the network and after wandering through many web, gradually they have gotten used to Facebook, or at least have registered an account on Facebook. Many young Vietnamese begin

'addiction' Facebook like Blog 360 before. They use this social network to make friends, exchange, messaging, share different points, mood, emotion, information, images, music, clips, participate in recreational games such as 'Barn Buddy' , 'Mafia Wars', 'Happy Farm' and enlist business advertise products, from selling clothes to the introduction of other services. Facebook allows you trace the movements of your best friends on the net "- the young writer Trang Ha wrote on the Facebook page. ADVANTAGES of using Facebook:

A lot of people are going crazy about this new fad called Facebook. Individuals from all over the world create their Facebook accounts and use it to socialize with other people to beat time and distance constraints.Vietnam is a developing countries with the world's hottest Internet with 28 million Internet users per month. Recent statistics show that even at that time in Vietnam website traffic is reduced there is still a developing network page on all two aspects: the number

of users, traffic: Facebook! However, more than just a form of socializing, Facebook proves to be more than just that. _ Legal Concerns: Facebook as a social networking site became helpful in problems concerning legal matters. Even if it seems that Facebook is a bit of informal in the nonprofessionals eyes, it can aid in searching legal disputes. _ Social Interaction: Online communities like Facebook always tend to be effective instruments for communication. It can allow you to search long lost friends, relatives or acquaintances you havent been in touch for a long while. Also, users are given the capacity to meet new groups and friends which they can interact with and actually know what their likes and dislikes is. It also enables the users to access each others profiles to find out interesting facts that they can use when they interact with each other. Commenting easy and due to its systematized profile organization, love can bloom easily molding a great passage for love to grow especially in a dating process. _ Student Relationships: Facebook seems to be appealing more to the younger generation than the older ones primarily due to similarity in interests and hobbies. This makes a perfect gateway to connecting students and engaging them to form interest-based organizations. They can then clash with ideas with their Facebook Pages or Facebook Groups which they might find helpful when they need to set meetings. _ Business environment for the Vietnamese young people dynamic. _ Leisure, entertainment with a lot of games and applications

DISADVANTAGES of using Facebook:

Facebook user group is mainly young people. Most users are on Facebook every time you access the computer. Facebook is changing quite Vietnamese young people. This is important in life and wasting time on Facebook do not help for life. Anyone addicted to Facebook. An person average spends 55 minutes per day for Facebook. The figures are not too big but there are many people spend up to 3-5 hours. Technology may have control of human life. _ When using computer, you will open a new tab in the web browser up and type "f ..." prelude to facebook.com. Indeed, the familiar question in facebook as "A comment is in a state of B" or "A recently highlighted in a photo with your face" ... will make you sick to facebook and want to jump straight into the living familiar space. It will make you spent a lot of time.

_ Effects on health: the young people indulged in by the internet often too thin or too fat because they do not care itself by always sitting or lying in bed. When there is more time by not using social networking, you may be hard to take care of your body, exercise. Too addicted to social networking makes people's life rhythm changed. Many people online till late asleep and only woke up when the 11, 12 oclock in noon the next day. This is not only healthy but also makes our lives in disarray. _ It is undeniable that the phone and the internet has helped us continuously updated news about friends and help us make friends, more confidence in virtual communication. However, life is not real, it makes life meet many harm. _ Children at young age should never be allowed to use these sites because at such young age they would be exposed as at their age they are not in a position to decide whether it is right or wrong to be friends with strangers and also exposing them to Facebook will erode their innocence. All things should be done at right time and Facebook is not a right thing for very young kids. Nowadays, most young people just talk to your friends on Facebook, the chat comments from friends on the wall and do not have time for research, study and work. Facebook users often do serious impact on young people and they do not have a meaningful life.

Chapter 3: Methodology

The research used primary data from a small survey which was carries out though the Internet. The questionnaire had ten questions in order to learn peoples knowledge about the influence of Facebook among Vietnamese young people and give recommendation about it. The research also used some interviews on newspapers and magazines to collect reliable data to make the research more persuasive. The questionnaire was sent to 100 Vietnamese students in both female and male between 15 to 25 years old. Students are representations for a new generation that have knowledge and contact widely with the mass media. They were useful sources to support necessary information for the research which studied on Vietnamese young people There were 26 people that returned their feedbacks. The other might not care about the research or had not used the Internet through the time the servey was being carried out. The feedback were collected by Google Documents, then summarized and changed to percentage for easier to discuss

B. The reasons for why Facebook is affecting to many Vietnamese young people
Helping connect together easily, Facebook is extremely "hot" in the selection of "virtual house". When I was on Facebook, users will take time for the bunch of games, updates, transfer, chat, visit friends, blogging, instant messaging ... And so many people (mainly young people) fell into neglect eating, education neglect, neglect of work. In Vietnam, Facebook appear, but only after a short time Facebook and has become a strong social networking attraction for young people. Remember early last July, when Yahoo 360 bloggers split of Vietnam, many young people so sad. Next time. They found the Facebook. And surprisingly, after only a short time, the social network has attracted a large young Vietnam participated. Those who have used this network immediately inviting friends over, and soon, people flocked to jam jam with Facebook. Not only has features such as blogging on Yahoo 360, Facebook also offers hundreds of applications for users to type freely swinging delight. One of the characteristics of social networks that attracted people like to spend time with friends, Facebook, this will be the fullest. Facebook provide utility connections unlimited friends, chat, comment, online, gaming, ... C. Attitudes of Vietnamese young people about Facebook

Talking about Facebook, now the Vietnamese young people really care to Facebook. The most question on servey about how many time spent for Facebook and the percentage people is interested in Facebook on per group age. There are surprising number. From them, we can see that many people is interested in Facebook so Facebook have a lot of effect to Vietnamese young people.

The chart shows time that Vietnamese young people spent for Facebook. It can be seen that almost the Vietnamese young people spent about one or two hour for Facebook. The percentages that Vietnamse young peole spent 4 hour or 6 hour is not biggest but spenting many time for Facebook will effect bad things for them. From the chart, Vietnamese young people very like Facebook.

The pie shows the percentage Vietnamse young people use Facebook on other age. The age group from 18 to 22 years onl make up the biggest percentage (50%). The age group less than 14 years old have the smallest percentage (15%). The group from 14 to 18 years old have quite big percentage (35 %). From the pie, It can be seen that nowadays the Vietnamse young people is interested in Facebook specially from 18 to 22 years old.

Chapter 5: Conclusion
Facebook has come as 'great revolution' in our social lives. Once, people who were afraid or shy of sharing their thoughts or making friendship are now interacting and socializing through these sites. From things like 'sleeping, drinking tea' to things like 'mass gathering for a cause' all are shared on these networks. Sustaining relationship by constant interaction, knowledge updation, making new relations and many other benefits lure us towards social networking sites. But, like everything it also have a dark side which comes into picture when we forget that our privacy is in our hands and it has to be used carefully. Restrict what we share to only known ones would help the cause. And lastly, too much of anything is bad. So, make use of it in spare time only. Facebok is no doubt a burning issue these days which is attracting the all generation people with a similar interest earlier which was said to be the youth stuff is followed by all age groups now. So it has many influences specially Vietnamese young people. This study is hoped to bring enough information to the reader about Facebook, the influence of Facebook among Vietnamese young people and give recommendation. From this people can choose right way use Facebook.
