COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course is designed to provide the students the learning theories, concepts, principles and management of patients with alterations of human functioning in case of emergency. It provides the student with activities to develop knowledge, skills, and attitude in Emergency Nursing. GENERAL OBJECTIVES: COGNITIVE: 1. Require knowledge and concepts in the provision of care for clients in emergency situation. 2. Demonstrate Critical and creative thinking. AFFECTIVE: 1. Possess a caring behavior (committed and compassionate) in rendering emergency 2. Conforms to ethico-legal and moral standards of health care. PSYCHOMOTOR: 1. Demonstrate skills in utilizing the nursing process for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and restoration of health.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course is designed to provide the students the learning theories, concepts, principles and management of patients with Neurologic Disorders. It provides the student with activities to develop knowledge, skills and attitude in Neurologic Nursing. GENERAL OBJECTIVES: COGNITIVE: 1. Develop a plan of care for adult client with common neurologic problems and. Discuss the psychological and physical problems of the client with neurologic problems. 2. Apply the nursing process to formulate nursing diagnosis for existing and potential neurologic problems. AFFECTIVE: 1. Explain common disorders of the nervous system which cause interference in the transmission of impulses. 2. Identify risk factors related to dysfunction of the nervous system. 3. Describe clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatments of patients with neurologic dysfunctions. PSYCHOMOTOR: Given a client with simple to complex health problem/work related problems and life threatening conditions in any health care situation, the students will be able to utilize the nursing process. 1. Use critical thinking skills in applying the nursing process to formulate a nursing care plan for patient with neurologic problems. 2. Compare various types of neurologic disorder, their causes, clinical manifestations, nursing management and health teaching needs. Course Outline PRELIM Objectives: 1.
