Lesson Objectives

1. Students will be able to recognize and understand the meanings of words that
are used in the story Collecting Dreams.
2. Students will be able to sit quietly while reading and comprehending the story.

3. Students will be able to write their responses and answers to questions based on
the story to enhance their learning and comprehension.

Acceptable
Evidence

1. Students will be able to place vocabulary words with its meanings by using
paper dominos.
2. Students will be able to provide answers to the questions I ask while reading the
story and be able to express their thoughts and opinions throughout.

3. Students will be able to complete a handout using the vocabulary words and the
main ideas of the story.

Procedure
1. The students will match vocabulary words with their meanings by using paper
dominos.
2. I will introduce the story, Collecting Dreams and will have the whole group
read on their own and I will also ask questions to check for understanding.
3. We will discuss about the story after and I will give out a Reader Response
worksheet for the students to complete.

Assessment/
Evaluation

The Reader Response worksheet will provide us as teachers with the information we
need to see which students comprehended and understood the parts of the story
corresponding with the main ideas of the story.
