I am pleased to report to you that David Greene has agreed to serve as Chairman of our Soviet Jewry..Mobilization Task Force. David has recently returned from visiting the refuseniks. That rst-hand exposure to the plight of Soviet Jewry, together with his long record of leadership in our community, will surely combine to create a most energetic campaign. I a m a l s o p l e a s e d to s h a r e w i th y o u a v a r i e ty o f n e w Soviet Jewry materials which have been developed by the Jewish Community Council, and which have been distributed to a broad range of community leadership. The next metting of our full Mobilization Task force will take place at 12:50 p-M., Friday, September 26, in the Gewirz Auditorium of Adas Israel Congreation (Connecticut A v e n u e a n d P o r t e r S t r e e t s , N . W. ) . Yo u a r e i n v i t e d t o bring your own pareve or dairy "brown bag" lunch. It is most important that every cluster of community organization and endeavor be represented, so that our fullest, most energetic and most creative efforts can be mobilized in a coordinated campaign. Although David does not anticipate many meetings of the full Task Force, this rst session is an imperative. I urge you to attend and to confirm your attendance to the Council office 347-4628.
