November 12 Session report The main theme from the meeting last Monday night seems to have been Communion. Rev. Gedcke led a discussion about how we remember friends and relatives who have died. There is still a relationship as we remember things about them and often the memories are connected to special celebrations and meals. Participating in Communion is very much about remembering Jesus. Elders also discussed the upcoming communion on December 2 and plans were made for the service. The Leading with Care initiative is being reviewed and will be updated in the New Year. The Worship Team reported on changes taking place in our order of service and is asking for comments from the congregation. We are especially grateful to the Choir and Praise Explosion (and their very capable leader, Suzanne) for the significant contributions they make in our services. The report from the Board of Managers included plans for a special fundraiser in 2013. Suggestions for such an event would be very welcome. We are also wondering about the producing of a Pictorial Directory next spring. With so many visitors at our services plans were made for recognizing and welcoming them. Members of the congregation can play a huge part in this and we are counting on your assistance. For the December meeting we are planning a shared social time between the two meetings starting at about 6:30. Session members are asked to bring a favourite finger food.

INNERchamber a concert series in Stratford with Andrew Chung as its artistic director is having its second concert of the season titled, Baroque Insults, on Sunday, 2 December 2012 from 6 8:30 pm at Factory163. Actor Rod Beattie will deliver some of the remarkable insults that baroque music rivals Italy and France hurled at each others style. We will perform works by Corelli, Vivaldi, Lully, and Rameau, and, finally, by Franois Couperin, who wrote a set of pieces that he called Les gots runis (Styles Reunited). Visit www.innerchamber.ca for details. A light dinner is included for advance bookings before midnight Friday, 30 November. Tickets are $39/adult, $10/student available online, or in person at Fanfare Books.

PWS&D - Proving Relief in the Sahel We did it! Presbyterians in Canada have responded yet again with overwhelming generosity, raising $115,000 for emergency relief in the Sahel. Through the Government of Canadas Sahel Crisis Matching Fund, these efforts are being multiplied. With your support, PWS&D and Canadian Foodgrains Bank are getting urgently needed relief to those hit hardest by hunger. Food assistance is meeting immediate food needs, while livelihood interventions, such as seed distributions and nutrition training, are helping to improve the capacity of communities to cope with future droughts and food shortages. This would not be possible without your ongoing supportthank you.

Presbyterian Sharing ROMANIA: Making a lasting impression Brian Johnston serves in Romania at the Theological Seminary of the Hungarian Reformed Church. He teaches English and leads two choirs of seminary students. Brians ministry multiplies as his students graduate and become ministers, sharing the good news throughout Romania. When the choir travels to perform in villages in Transylvania, they are often hosted by former choir members who provide wonderful hospitality as well as inspiration to the current members. As we give to Presbyterians Sharing, let us pray for Brian and his current and former students as they work to share the good news in Romania through music and ministry.
