REFUND =)

The best things in life are Libre

These orders are immediately executory upon receipt, but the telcos (telecommunications companies) have the right to appeal, sabi kahapon ni Dennis Babaran, legal director ng NTC.

Based on the sworn statements of the victims, in one

mall outlet alone, she victimized 300 employees and some of them even hold managerial and supervisory positions, ani Ruiz.

I cant say Im at my 100 percent now. As you may have noticed, my voice is scratchy and I have a cold ... But otherwise I think I manage, aniya. My visit there was during spring and it was colder compared to the Philippines, aniya. DJ Yap

Although they (four election commissioners) are saying that these groups have a track record, unlike Ako Bicol which was new in 2010... these are old political parties existing way back in 1998, wika niya. Ibang klaseng kinse anyos
KFMangunay

Big deals
By Pocholo Concepcion

OREIGN celebrities have endorsed local consumer products for the past 10 years, even earlier. But its become more noticeable lately, with clothing brands Bench and Penshoppe tapping popular international musicians, TV and film actors one after the other in high-profile media campaigns.
Laxa, Candy Pangilinan, Donita Rose, Quest, Paolo, Gab and Kiana Valenciano, Juan Miguel Salvador, Princess Punzalan, Hilda Koronel, Elma Muros, among others) We can either be upset that our local brands are not using local celebrities, or we can think positive and look at it as progress for the Philippines. I dont believe there is anything wrong because it only elevates our country to world-class status. If the casting agencies can create equity for local talents through legislation, that would be awe-

some. But its a thrill to see foreign artists endorsing local product brands.

its another to constantly improve homegrown talents and market them effectively. Our advantage is that we speak good English, which makes us globally competitive.

Stages Talents Group (Talents: Christian Bautista, Karylle, Sam Concepcion, JayR, Zia Quizon, Nanette Inventor, Miguel Faustmann, among others) Its an open market. Entrepreneurs have the right to hire anyone, whether local or international talents, to endorse their products. Bench, for instance, has hired our talents like Christian Bautista, Karylle and Sam Concepcion. But I also believe that managers should turn their sights overseas to market Filipino talents [for brand endorsement opportunities]. We have a great wealth of artists deserving international recognition. With regards to equity, its one thing to protect our own and

24/7 in Love
Directed by Dado Lomibao, Frasco Santos Mortiz, John-D J. Lazatin, Mae Czarina Cruz; stars Angelica Panganiban, Piolo Pascual, Bea Alonzo, Xyriel Manabat, Zaijian Jaranilla, John Lloyd Cruz, Zanjoe Marudo This multistory romantic-comedy is the 20th-anniversary presentation of Star Cinema. It presents various stories of love, recounts Pascual who plays a mentally challenged man caught in an unlikely triangle with child stars Manabat and Jaranilla. Alonzo and Marudo portray another odd couple: Shes in love with her best buddy who happens to be gay. I play someone whos obsessed, Alonzo relates. It was weird acting with (real-life boyfriend) Zanjoe.

The frontman of an American rock band which performed in Manila recently was said to have been paid $400,000 (about P17 million) for his image wearing one of the clothing brands splashed across giant billboards on Edsa. INQUIRER asked local talent managers what they thought of these deals, and whether foreign endorsers should be made to pay equity dues, similar to levies on visiting performers.

Marie Digby, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, Rachel Alejandro) I cant really object to the hiring of foreign celebrities because I have represented some of them to endorse Penshoppe and Bench. I believe in free enterprise and I promote a noboundaries world. If local brands believe that a foreign endorser can promote their products effectively, then I believe it is their right to hire them.

PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ UNDERCARD

Gesta, Fareas lalaban

We got what we deserved, sabi ni Marc Gasol ng Grizzlies. The last game we didnt play that well, but the other team wasnt as talented as (Denver). When you play with fire, sometimes you get burned. This is the first game on the road where I think we executed at a high level, wika ni Denver coach George Karl. Weve got to get better at making shots and I think we will once we win games, and I think confidence comes by winning. Reuters
