Public Discourse Statement: California - Border Nazis

People kill people; go back as far as you want in history this is the case One way to judge the society in which the killing is done Are the killers brought to justice? or is a blind-eye turned, killers allowed to escape The Nazis are often used to epitomize evil; Hitler, SS, the Gestapo - devils in power Murderers in uniform & on the government paycheck; take a left to a work camp, take a right for your final shower That type of power always scares me: free rein, no fear of consequence - worst case, governments got their back Hands tied, ribs smashed, blood flowing - an innocent man helpless on the ground U.S. Border Patrol agents get away with another unjustifiable, murderous attack When I first heard the story of Anastasio Hernndez-Rojas it made me angry - a terrible way to die, his killers walk free A 30-minute beating on the U.S./Mexican border - cell phone video and several eyewitnesses there to see Handcuffed face down on the ground, on the video you see he offers no resistance, the soundtrack is him crying for his life Ayudame por favor is help me please in Spanish; final words before leaving behind his 5 U.S. citizen kids and his wife Typically a case like this is blamed on a few bad apples, someone goes to jail, apology made, politicians cover their ass Two years after the killing of Hernandez-Rojas, border agents yet to be charged killers still in uniform & on the government paycheck, killers still wearing the badge One officer recorded with a knee on his neck, another has a knee on his lower back They tasered him five times even though he was handcuffed As many as twenty officers standing around - in case Anastasio somehow managed a counter-attack Im sure theres another side of the story, a reason why the Department of Justice has yet to interview a witness The border agents likely reported they felt threatened, and that Hernandez-Rojas died from causes related to his general fitness Maybe this killing is part of a new U.S. immigration strategy, Hernandez-Rojas the 8th migrant killed in the past two years Some shot in the back, some in the head, some while standing on Mexican soil Mexican kids growing up with Americans epitomizing evil U.S. border agents who they learn to fear This killing has been headline news in Mexico; people in disbelief that none of the videotaped killers yet in jail Its been compared to the Rodney King beating in Los Angeles cops free despite the beating caught on video An example of a legal system thats failed I imagine the terror of being beaten while handcuffed, never knowing if or when the beating will stop I imagine feeling incredibly scared and alone - surrounded by twenty human hearts wearing the uniform of cops Nobody was worse than the Nazis, for Hernandez-Rojas this is an argument open for debate U.S. border patrol agents killing with impunity - take a left to be beaten to death, take a right through the detention center gate Deciding who lives or dies without consequence - this isnt about the border agents, its about the rule of law Its one thing to kill someone while nobodys looking, but this is a murder several eyewitnesses saw The Occupy Movement represents everyday people seeking justice If the Department of Justice fails to investigate a documented killing on the border, how are the people supposed to react? Nazi soldiers and U.S. Border Patrol agents both wielding the power to kill without justification In both cases the government has got the killers backs C PDS-MCM 2012
