The beginning of Walt Disney Productions. In 1927. On July 13, 1925 Walt married one of his employees, Lillian Bounds. Later they were blessed with two daughters, Diane and Sharon.

Sehrish slides:Why was Disney a leader? Walt Disney understood and embraced the process of change. He knew that in order to continue to progress and find success, he needed to be one step ahead of change. This was evident through his willingness to take chances on innovative technologies as they developed in his field. When others expressed concern over perceived risks, Walt was always optimistic and had faith in his convictions. So he believed and radical change which he did bring like developing of colored TV etc. As a leader, Disneys personality traits:1- Openness to experience:-

Never stop dreaming Walt Disney was a dreamer. He never stopped trying out new things, creating new cartoons no matter how successful he was. As a leader, you must also never stop innovating and dreaming about new possibilities. Truly the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. If you want to build something worthwhile, constantly think about more creative ways you can achieve it. Never underestimate the power of your imagination to do something different from the rest of the crowd.

Walt worked hard to build relationships, especially with his employees. He wanted his employees to be happy and he worked closely with everyone in his company. One of the best examples of his willingness to develop relationships is evidenced by his eagerness to help his employees learn more about animation. He believed that the company would work best in an environment where a company worked together in all aspects of the business. Coherence making is possibly the strongest leadership capacity that Disney possessed

Keep on keeping on Disney suffered many setbacks in his career. Most of us would like to believe that Walt Disney just thought of creating Mickey Mouse one day and became an overnight success, but a quick read of his biography will make you realize that Disney went through many discouraging moments before his success with Mickey Mouse, about 10 years after his first attempt at a business.As a leader, you need to have a tenacity to keep on going. Every person will go through tough times, especially when he/shes chasing after a huge dream or goal. 4- Adjustment:As a leader, you need to have a tenacity to keep on going. When he set a goal he focused all his attention on getting it achieved through persistence. Sajad slides:_ Was walt Disney an effective leader:1- High energy:-(conscientiousness) He is very serious about attaining his goals and feels that keeping his nose to the grindstone is the only way to do it. It is by working hard, keeping up his efforts and focusing on a single objective that Walt Disney achieves his aims in life. 2- Self confidence :-(// // // // // //) He is self-confident and has a strong will to succeed, to see how much he can do and how far he can go. No matter what Disney accomplishes, he does not rest on his laurels.

3- Locus of control:-(openness to experience) Walt has a strong internal locus of control.Walt Disney has a positive, "can-do" attitude and he tackles life's challenges with relish. 4- Stability:-(adjustment) Walt Disney also strives to be in a position of authority and social influence; he enjoys being in command. But at the same time he never misuses his positional powers. 5- Emotional intelligence:-(Adjustment)
Walt had a strong ability to work with people. He was constantly able to bring things

together to stimulate conversation. Walt knew how to prioritize and focus his work as a result of his moral purpose. He exemplified all of the capacities needed to be considered a true leader. Perhaps the best example of Walts leadership is the fact that over forty years after his death, his company has continued to be a pioneer in the field of animation.

6- Integrity:-(conscientiousness) Was always hounest in his workings and followed ethics deeply. All this made him trustworthy increasing his integrity.

ZIA SLIDES:Achievement Motivation theory:1- Need for Achievement:Walt Disney has strong need for achievement because he has very high energy to achieve goals, has big self confidence and strong internal locus of control. 2- Need for Affiliation:Walt also had a strong commitment to his employees. He knew each person by name and insisted that everyone call him Walt. Throughout his life, and since his

death, Walt Disney did more to touch the hearts and minds of millions of Americans than any other person in the past century.

3- Need for power:Because he strived to be in a position of authority and social influence; he enjoys being in command.

Leader Motive Profile theory:POWER:he always used his power in a way that helped him as well as his employees. So yea we will say that he had social power with him

Achievement:He had high achievement need because he made it his motive to keep moving on and never stop dreaming so he always focused on achieving his goals and objectives. Affiliation:Walt also had a need for affiliation, although lower then the other two but still it ws there.Walt also had a strong commitment to his employees. Tauqeer slides:Disneys Charisma:Walter Disney had every thing that a charismatic leader should possess. He had clear aim in his life. He had strong ambition to achieve his goals. These characteristics clearly make him charismatic because it makes him different from others. He also had a charming personality which attracted peoples attention towards him. Disneys personal meaning:-

It means meaning fullness and purpose in life. The Things that make ones life most meaningful and worthwhile. 1- Self- lessness:Disney truly was a selfless person. He always thought about his employees wellbeing. He even offered the chance for his employees to attend art school, at his expense. Many of his animators took advantage of Walts offer, and as a result, their work improved greatly. They were enthusiastic about this opportunity and were grateful to Walt for taking an interest in their futures. Walt always shared his ideas and concerns with his employees. Yea he realy was selfless 2- Legacy:The entire Disney setup is a legacy left behind by the great leader Walter Elias Disney. 3- Activist Mindset:He had a activist mind set because he always sought creative ways to entertain children as well as their parents with them. One such example is Disney them parks around the world. They were his idea too.
