Understandings
Teachers will understand that: Technology is important for our students. Incorporating technology is more than just using a smartboard and a computer program. Teachers have a set of technology standards they are responsible for covering. Prezi is an easy way to incorporate technology into reading/language arts classrooms. Related Misconceptions:

there isn't enough time to incorporate technology into the classroom. It's too hard to have students do projects on the computer.

Overarching Questions: What does it mean to incorporate technology into the classroom? How can we incorporate technology into the classroom? Topical Questions: How can I make easy presentations for my classes? How can I have students make easy presentations for my class? How do I use Prezi?

Knowledge and Skills Knowledge


Teachers will know: teachers have a set of technology standards they are required to meet. Prezi is an easy web 2.0 tool teachers and students can use to create presentations.

Teachers will be able to: Produce a prezi presentation.

Stage 2 - Evidence Performance Task(s)

Goal: To produce a prezi presentation Role: You are a teacher creating a presentation for class Audience: your students Situation: You need a creative way to present information to your reading/ela class. Product Performance and Purpose: You need to produce a prezi presentation to present information to your class. Standards and Criteria for Success: You must make an interesting presentation that can be used in your class.

Student Self-Assessment and Reflection Teachers will look at their prezi presentation and reflect whether or not it is something they can actually use in class. They will also fill out a questionnaire about the ease of Prezi and if it's something they think they can use with their classes. Stage 3: Plan Learning Experiences

1. Ask the question: What does incorporating technology mean to you? And take answers from volunteers. Explain that incorporating technology is a lot more than projecting a presentation from a projector but it is also a lot more than just using your smartboard every day too. Prezi is an easy way to incorporate more technology. 2. Show the Prezi presentation that explains what a prezi is and the pros and cons to it. Show the example prezi presentations (teacher made and student made). 3. Have teachers go step by step through how to create an account to creating their own prezi presentation.
