A Disciple Worshipper (Word of God)

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. A worshipping disciple needs the Word of God as the foundation of his faith. 1. The Word of God gives us new birth James 1:18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created. 1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 2. The Word of God gives us transparency Transparency is important so that every action of someone will be known In government, transparency is needed to fight graft and corruption In spiritual life, God's word can bring transparency. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Sometimes, it hurts when the Bible tells us that we are wrong. But it helps us to do what is right. 3. The Word of God gives us power against Satan's schemes Matthew 4:1-11 (read) Satan use the word of God to tempt and deceive But the word of God is the powerful tool to use against Satan

4. The Word of God gives us the right and true direction in life 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
