Procure Software a) OS ( Windows 2000 server or Windows 2003 server ) b) OS Service Pack 4 or higher (Only for Windows 2000 server) c) 4.7 Software DVDs d) Java JRE e) Database (Oracle 8i or 9i) f) Database Patch 3.Verify media 4.Documentation 5.Internet Connection 6.Java runtime environment Installation Install OS and Its Service Packs Install all Drivers (Display, LAN) IP Address Configuration Give the IP Address to NIC (Network Interface Card) My Network Places -> Properties -> Select the local area connection -> Properties -> Select TCP/IP -> Use the following IP address -> Give the IP address and click in Subnet mask it will be automatically generate Note: - If NIC is not available then we have to add the Loop Back Adapter Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add Hardware -> Next -> Yes -> Add New Hardware -> Manually Select from list -> Network Adapters -> Microsoft (Loop Back adapter) -> Next

Virtual Memory
The formula is 3 X RAM + 500

My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Settings -> Advanced -> Changed -> Select the Drive Give Virtual memory and click on Set

Java Installation
Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement & click on the next button

Java Environment Variables settings My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variables -> New -> Variable Name as JAVA_HOME and Variable Value is Path of the Java

SAPinst Installation Select the path From Kernel CD Kernel -> SAPinst -> NT -> I386 -> Setup.cmd

After that select Standard option and agree license after that select reboot option then automatically system reboot
Central Instance After Rebooted the system automatically ask for Central Instance or Database Instance or Dialogue instance Installation Otherwise Start -> SAPinst ORACLE KERNAL -> SAPinst Server with GUI Select the SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.70 for Oracle option

Agree the license then

Specify system ID (It should be 3 characters) and choose the Instance i.e. [central instance]

Specify the Instance No (It should be 2 digits)

Specify the Data Base SID & Host Name

Specify the Type of Installation

Specify Drive in which you want to save the sap system Directory & specify system name in which u want to save Transport Directory

Enter password for system administrator

Give password for system service administrator

All are by default

No need to do anything until problem arises, if there is any error click view log or retry

Click ok

Database Instance Before that Prepare new installation Start -> SAPinst ORACLE KERNAL -> Prepare New Installation

After that Start -> SAPinst ORACLE KERNAL -> SAPinst Server with GUI

Choose install server components

To install database instance

When there is no other component in the database choose install sapsystem into a new database

Give database system id similar to sapsystem name ,{if it is new}

Give instance no {two digits}, and hostname {as given during os installation}

Choose only local instance remaining all are default.

Enter hostname

Choose directories {check for enough space} click next

enter same password as given before .

Enter

same pass word as given before.

By default

Choose different directories for origlog & mirrorlog

Give path of first export cd .

Give path for remaining (for Data files) it shows the Required Size memory

Just click on Next

Give the remaining Export CDs Paths

It will give the all default pass wards, if want we can change

Select the No MNL ( Multi National Language )

Then started the process

GUI Installation

Click on GUI setup file them click on Next

Automatically it take path or we can also change the path

Select all components

Click on Install

After completing installation it shows two Icons on the Desktop 1 SAP Logon Pad 2 SAP Logon
