A design charette was recently organized by the East 10th Street Civic Association in partnership with National Bank of Indianapolis, Ball State University CAP:IC and Kent State University, in which participants reimagined an industrial building on the Near Eastside. Design students studied and collaborated with Near Eastside stakeholders on re-development efforts for the Circle City Industrial Complex, located on East 10th Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Brookside Parkway. Their visions will be presented to the community on Friday, Dec. 7th from 6-8pm at Clifford Corners, 3125 E. 10th Street. Tours of the Clifford Corners, a new mixed-use development on East 10th Street will be also conducted. East 10th Street Civic Association www.civicassoc.org

New works by Gallery artists: Shannon Godby, David Morico, Jeremiah Shine, Cathy Kravitz (ceramics) and Petra Azar, fine silver jewelry will be featured in the main gallery. Gallery owner Don Elliott invites clients new and old to enjoy refreshments, caroling by the Indianapolis Mens Chorus, and Holiday music by David Graff on the baby grand. Anachromnism, the iPhonography of Catherine Howie, will be the featured exhibit during October. Many of the artists will be on-site 6-10pm for First Friday to visit with patrons. See Art Bank Gallery on facebook for more info. The Art Bank is home to over 30 artists. Artists are located in several mini-galleries and studios. Indy Indie Artist Colony presents the END OF THE WORLD show. Opening reception IDADA First Friday December 7, 6-9pm. Found-photo and Ephemera Portraits - Dewclaw presents selections from the Utrillos collection of thrift store art. This December show highlights found photos of people, from a charming tiara-crowned little girl to a disturbing montage of backwoods kin. Utrillos was a thrift art and framing shop founded by Greg Brown. This is the first of several shows highlighting work from Gregs collection estate. Opening reception: Dec 7, 6-9 pm. Gallery 924 presents TINY, a huge group show featuring well over 200 pieces of TINY artwork. Central Indiana artists were challenged to create artwork no greater than 6 x 6 x 6 for this one-of-a-kind celebration of Indy Artists. The show also celebrates the relaunch of the Be Indypendent: Buy Indy Art movement which encourages folks to support local artists and everything that is unique to Indy. TINY will not only serve as an excellent place to find a spectacular variety of holiday gifts, but will also serve as a sort of retrospective and celebration of the first two years of shows at Gallery 924. Many of the artists who have had solo shows in the space are participating in this big show. He is the author of Teaching Genius: Redefining Education with Lessons from Science and Philosophy (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012). INSPIRED BY CENTURIES PAST - an exhibit of fine craft and fine art by Camille Richard and Martha Nahrwold. Richard is a jeweler who combines her lampwork beads with gemstones, minerals,silver, copper, and bronze. Funkyard in Fountain Square presents Abstract Artist, Amy Ward, Friday, December 7th with a greet & meet from 7-10pm. Ward produces innovative & spiritual paintings that demonstrate an unrivaled sense of color & form. Her abstract paintings illustrate how engaging simple symbiotic patterns can be every bit as gripping as traditional portraits or landscapes. Her work is controlled chaos. She is mostly self taught other than some time spent learning from her mentor, Gary Bowling, from Lamar, Missouri. As an Indianapolis Native, Ward is committed to the arts in Indianapolis & is heavily involved with RAW: natural born artists, here in Indy which is an independent arts organization, for artists, by artists.
