Introduction to the age The age of Renaissance or rebirth is referred to as one of the most fascinating periods of European History that began in the 14th century and lasted for more than 300 years resulting in the complete transformation of the economic, religious and social visage of the entire continent on the permanent basis. It was this age when the entire continent began to show signs of rejuvenating from the adverse repercussions and the disastrous effects that the Crusade had left upon them. It was primarily the Western European region of the continent that was overwhelmingly influenced by this pre-dominantly cultural movement that facilitated and paved way for a civilizing and eco-political revolution in all these countries. (Parammon, 1998) One of the most key developments that took place during the age of Renaissance was the gradual proliferation and dissemination of educational reforms in the entire continent which manifested its effectiveness in subsequently preceding years upon the arrival of the age of Enlightenment. Painting description, visuals, content and style The Boar Hunt painting was prepared by the famous and highly reputable Flemish painter Frans Snyders. Snyders belongs to the very same era of historical timeline which is commonly known as the age of reformation and rebirth or the age of Renaissance across the European continent. It was during this time when the European continent was undergoing massive transformation on cultural, religious and artistic platforms and these changes were being fostered and supervised by an elite group of painters that included people and maestros like Da Vinci and Titian in Italy, Durer in Germany and then it was Snyders in Belgium. It was among such art gurus and pundits among which Snyders was able to reinforce and manifest his unique existence by presenting art and its illustrating its effects in a completely distinctive manner and procedural techniques. By having a first look at the painting of Snyders which has been entitled as Boar Hunting the immediate impression that develops in the mind of the viewer is the affiliation of the artist with violence, blood and even anarchy. The painting shows a pack of dogs hunting a boar that is trying to ensure its survival by escaping them but seems more or less destitute and its seems that it is about to capitulate in front of the way the pack of dogs has encircled and gripped him from all sides. During the course of the boar struggle it seems that it might have resisted with some of the dogs but because of the unity that they have exhibited while launching and executing their attack the boar seems more or helpless in front of them.

Since the painting has been prepared with oil paints which were a prominent painting tool of almost all reputable painters during this age therefore the visuals and the different artistic technicalities of the painting are simply flawless and clearly project that the message being send by the painter is being clearly portrayed. The entire environment shows a jungle and a wild environment in which it is only the fittest that survives, but apart from that at the same time the painting also projects another message regarding the significance and importance of teamwork and unity which may allow even animals like dogs to hunt boars which are not only enormous in size but also in terms of strength. In addition to this the colors that have been used in the painting also provide an impression that the painting has been made by a complete professional. The fusion of different colors and their ingenious application in the painting of dogs provide an extremely realistic and natural look to the appearance of the animals that are present in the painting. Along with this the painter also provides us with a variety of stylistic qualities which can easily be observed upon a closer analysis of the painting itself. By carefully looking at the painting it can easily be understood that the composition of the painting is quite rich and diversifying at the same time, the entire content of the painting portrays an aggressive and vigorous feeling to the viewer and all of this is accompanied with a highly expressive sort of texture and painting technique which is applied in the painting of furs and skins of the different animals shown in the painting.
