NONI This paper is going to discuss about Noni. This paper will talk about Noni that can decrease in Blood Pressure. A. INTRODUCTION Noni or commonly known as the pace is not new among lovers of herbal medicines and natural food supplements . There have been many studies on the benefits of this fruit of the womb. Prof Sumali Wiryowidagdo, professor of pharmacy, University of Indonesia, the content contained in the fruit is quite varied Noni. Through clinical trials with UI Department of Pharmacy, Prof. Sumali noni has proved that the people of Hawaii known as noni is safe to lower high blood pressure. Another one of the most important plants do not know the side effects. Treatment of hypertension requires no small cost. This can be a huge burden for families, communities, or nations. In addition to chemical drugs, the use of traditional medicine also includes non-pharmacological management of hypertension in the tackle. Treatment traditional growing slowly though. This development caused by chemical drugs have some drawbacks, for example, often cause negative side effects either directly or accumulated. Instead medicinal plants / herbs has certain advantages not shared by chemical drugs. Among the side effects of medicinal plants does not exist, if the use is in accordance with the instructions. The high cost of treatment chemical drugs also encourage people to look for alternatives to traditional medicine. One is treatment with medicinal plants. One of the medicinal plants that are widely used for the treatment of hypertension is the Noni plant. B. DISCUSSION Noni plant family includes coffee-copy (Rubiaceae), Noni in Acehnese: keumeudee, Java: pace, kemudu, kudu); cangkudu (Sunda), kodhuk (Madura), tibah (Bali) from the Southeast Asian region, belonging to the family Rubiaceae . Another name for this plant is Noni (Hawaiian), Nono (Tahiti language), Nonu (Tonga language), ungcoikan (Myanmar language) and Aceh (Hindi) 3

The plant is grown in the lowlands to the height of 1500 m. Noni tree height reaches 3-8 m, has a white flower head. The fruit is a fruit compound, which is still young and has shiny green spotted, and when the old white with black spots. The content of noni has benefits for a variety of different diseases. The noni fruit has a foul odor and is not known to have a delicious taste. Indigenous people are also known to use the entire tree for health benefits including the stems, bark, leaves flowers and roots. The noni fruit is replete with phytochemicals such as terpenoids, octoanoic acid, rutin, ursolic acid, damnacanthal and caproic acid. These plant-based phytochemicals are known to have a large range of benefits to health.

1. The content of noni a. Scopoletin: function widens blood vessels narrowed and blood circulation. Additionally scopoletin has also been shown to kill certain types of bacteria, are fungicides (mold killers) against Pythium sp and also antiinflammatory and anti-allergic. b. Nutrients: whole noni fruit is nutritionally complete diet. Nutrients the body needs, like proteins, viamin, and essential minerals, are available in sufficient quantities in fruit and noni leaf. Selenium, a mineral found in noni is a powerful antioxidant. Various types of compounds contained in noni: xeronine, plant sterois, alizarin, lycine, sosium, caprylic acid, arginine, proxeronine, quinines well as between, trace elemens, phenylalanine, magnesium, etc.. c. Terpenoi: It helps in the process of organic synthesis and recovery of body cells. d. Anti-bacterial: Active substances contained in fruit juice can be deadly bacteria that cause infections, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Protens morganii, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Anti-bacterial agent that also can control pathogenic bacteria (lethal) such as Salmonella montivideo, S. scotmuelleri, S. typhi and Shigella dusenteriae, S. flexnerii, S. pradysenteriae, and Staphylococcus aureus. e. Scolopetin: Compounds scolopetin As with elements of highly effective anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic. f. Anticancer agent: anti-cancer substances found in noni most effective against abnormal cells. Some recent research on Noni conducted to determine the content of anticancer substances (damnacanthal). g. Xeronine and Proxeronine: One of the important alkaloid contained in the noni fruit is xeronine. Noni fruit contains very little xeronine, but many contain precursor (precursor) xeronine alias proxeronine in large numbers. Proxeronine colloid is a type of acid that does not contain sugars, amino acids or nucleic acids such as colloid-colloid others with relatively large molecular weight of more than 16,000. If we consume proxeronine the levels xeronine in the body will increase. In the human body (gut) 4

proxeronase enzymes and other substances will turn into xeronine proxeronine. Xeronine main function is to regulate the shape and rigidity (hardness) specific proteins present in the cell. It is important to remember when these proteins function abnormally, then our body will experience health problems. h. Substance Dyes: Skin Noni plant roots contain dyes (red), which is named morindon and Morindin. i. Acid: Ascorbic acid is in the Noni fruit is a good source of vitamin C were outstanding. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. Beneficial antioxidants to neutralize free radicals (harmful particles that are formed as a byproduct of metabolism that can damage genetic material and damage the immune system). Caproic acid, caprylic acid and capric acid fatty acids belong to this class. Caproic acid and capric acid that causes the sharp stench noni fruit. j. Vitamin : The noni fruit is also a rich source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, several B complex vitamins, calcium, sulphur, potassium, phosphorous and certain essential amino acids like phenylalanine and tyrosine. Hypertension is a disease of abnormal increase in blood pressure in the arteries continuously over a period. Persistent hypertension is blood pressure where the systolic pressure above 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg (Smeltzer and Bare, 2001, pp. 896). According to Neil Solomon, MD.PhD, health problems of American researchers reported that the Noni fruit contains a type of phytonutrients, namely scopoletin which serves to widen the channel of the blood vessel constriction. Blood vessel wall width can accelerate the process of blood flow to the heart, and accelerate the flow of blood throughout the body. Prevent the constriction of blood vessels so that blood pressure be normal. Other scopoletin, there is also a function in the synthesis of arginine nitric oxide (NO) a vasodilator. Where is a vasodilator relaxes smooth muscles of blood vessels, especially the arteries, causing vasodilatation, with vasodilatation of blood going down. This is cause heart does not have to work too hard to pump blood, so the blood pressure became normal. The results of testing on animals shows that scopoletin lowering pressure scopoletin contained in Noni fruit can interact synergistically with nutraceuticals (foods that serve to treatment) another to regulate high blood pressure to be normal, but it did not lower blood pressure to normal. Never found cases in which the blood pressure down to normal lead to low blood pressure (hypertension). 2. How to Use Noni for Overcoming hypertension. Noni is traditionally treated as eaten straight, made juice, made of herbs, made capsule is not fully trusted by the public will be able to cure some diseases, it is not once or twice we consume noni traditional way so quickly cure diseases, but it takes time to prove the result. a. Noni fruit can also be eaten directly, if the consuming bear the bitter taste of the Noni fruit that. b. Noni fruit that has been washed, squeezed noni extract will be made drinks / juice mixed with honey or other flavorings to remove the piercing smell. For the general ingredients of each boiled in water about 3 cups of water to boil and the amount was reduced to 1 cup, then drink the water. Make sure to consume noni juice was in a state of fresh and processed through the appropriate processing technology and hygienic. In addition, of course, the regularity of the noni juice as recommended. c. For consumers who could not stand the bitter taste of the noni fruit can depergunakan another innovation in a way that is not yet mature noni really thinly sliced about a quarter inches thick in diameter. Once sliced and then dried for about 2-3 days in the sun. At the time of drying, the noni black cloth 5

covered by a black cloth absorbs the sun's heat, but it prevents the absorption of ultra-violet rays that the active substance does not enter into the ultraviolet noni. After noni dried until the water level is only 10%, then put in plastic and stored in a dry place if it has yet to be processed. If you do not need to be stored will be processed into plastic. After that a crude noni and noni processed by perkulasi or maceration. Perkulasi is to filter vegetable material by passing the solvent is slow with alcohol solvent. Maceration is the immersion of solids in a liquid suspension to occur. Suspension is a liquid or gas that has very fine particles that can not be dissolved. If by maceration or immersion only takes five days. After soaked with alcohol kemudan stirred with automatic stirrer powered by electricity. The next process alcohol is evaporated at a temperature below 490 degrees Celsius so nutritious substances in noni intact. Alcohol will still be removed so as not to poison. Noni is dry then soaked with alcohol after it had evaporated because alcohol works as a substance that makes it in the process pengekstrakun noni. If the extract of Morinda citrifolia has been drawn, the alcohol must be removed. Disappearance is kind of alcohol it is called evaporation with a tool called the evaporator. Once the process is complete evaporation noni extract was condensed form, and simply add drying agents called fatselulose or too biased starch. Or the same with the oven. Then inserted into the capsule shell. The filled capsules 500mg.

3. Noni juice dosage for patients with high blood. Noni fruit cooked take water, mixed with honey, then drink every morning before breakfast. When the desired ideal blood pressure has been reached, the extract of noni fruit can be reduced, just once a day with ideal blood dose while maintaining the ideal blood pressure should eat food habits increase the risk of blood pressure is also reduced or stopped altogether. C. CONCLUSION As the times are so fast, now people often use chemicals to cope with or treat some diseases. These include high blood pressure (hypertension) is an increase in blood pressure. Chronic illness can strike anyone. Far as all these diseases can only be overcome by taking drugs made from chemicals that often is not known how dangerous the chemical content is on the drug. But now researchers are now able to prove that 'the Beast' of noni fruit can be used as a traditional medicine to treat hypertension in a way made dishes eaten directly, if the consuming bear the bitter taste of the noni fruit, nor created beverages / juice mixed with honey or other flavorings to remove the piercing smell those that are in the form of a syrup or capsule.
