Relevance of chemistry to ourselves

I have learned many things about chemicals- the different kinds of chemical bonds, the sharing of electrons between two elements and the combination of elements. Reniel

As I learn about chemical bonding, I can now even think that it has a relevance to myself for it only describe our relationship with my family. A family will never be complete or simply a family if one and only one of the member is not there. And so, all the things I have now is under chemical bonding. Others will never be able to produce such a thing without the bonding of chemical such as in making my daily soaps and shampoos. -Arlyn

I will be focusing on the biological importance of chemical bonding in my life and to everyone. Water as the most abundant compound on Earths surface cant exist without chemical bonding- it keeps the Hydrogen bond with the Oxygen. And most importantly, water makes up my body for 55% to 78% that keeps me alive and ready everyday. -Keith
To our future profession

Chemical bonding can somehow be applied in some cases like when you combine two elements; they will produce a product that can be useful in our daily lives. -Reniel The relevance of chemical bonding in my medical course is- it may help improve treatments to cure sickness by

researching more chemicals that may be useful as medicines. They only do it by experimenting or researching a chemical through a chemical bonding that can make us more comfortable and for the fast recovery of patients through the newly discovered medicines. -Arlyn

In a medical course like nursing, students like me must know chemical equations and how bonds hold molecules together. For example, in anatomy and physiology, nurses must know how bones are formed to form visible matter and a concrete one since calcium and phosphorous are the two main elements present. Second, many of the major components of life include proteins, sugars, fats and enzymes. These complex molecules feature chemical bonds and reactions in the body. -Keith
To our community

Some chemical elements can be used in creating military weapons just like the element chlorine, a greenishcolored gas that is so poisonous and the element sodium, a silver-colored metal that reacts so violently with water producing flames when sodium gets wet. Combining these two elements will make a great military weapon that protects our country. -Reniel It may help researchers to create new things, especially in the fields of medicine. Researchers may create a better medicine through effective chemical bonding. They can now produce more useful things, foods and more industrial needs. -Arlyn It would be MONEY! Money and all economic necessities wont exist without chemical bonds that keep the atoms

in a molecule -- no compound would exist but thanks to the way atoms are held together those necessities exist! -Keith
To our environment

Carbon dioxide maybe the lead cause of global warming, but other gases are more potent contributor. Some researchers and scientists analyzed the physical and chemical properties of a powerful greenhouse gas called fluorocarbons. They discovered that molecule as particularly effective in trapping heat, especially when many fluorine atoms are bonded to a single carbon atom. -Reniel

The very big improvements of technology we can see are because of chemical bonding. -Arlyn

Ozone is an important molecule in maintaining the homeostasis or the balance in the environment. Ozone, the molecule O3, makes a layer in the stratosphere. The dioxide molecule, O2 and oxygen atom O, collide or bond with each other resulting in the formation of Ozone O3. In

this reaction, the molecule ozone contains an excess of energy. Once the molecule is formed, it is not stable to last long. The energy-rich ozone molecules discard the excess energy by colliding with another atom or molecule and transferring the energy in the form of heat. In the results of decomposition of ozone into O2 and O in the ozone layer, solar radiation is absorbed. The cyclic process formation and decomposition of ozone provides a shield against ultraviolet radiation that enters the earths atmosphere- without these processes therefore, the earth as well us will suffer. Our experiences during the discussion of our assigned module

My experiences were: when we had our draw lots on how to present our output in a creative way. I feel a bit nervous because I will present my output in poster and I am not so good in arts but I will try my best to do it. -Reniel We all experienced happiness and excitement because we all talked and shared our own learning and at the same time we learned from each other. Our relationship as classmates as well is strengthened through this great project. -Arlyn

Researching must be the most important part for me. Ive done my own researches to come up with all the ideas from making my answers up to conceptualizing my painting. It is very sinuous to search and find for the best ideas to share. So in any way, Ive learned again how to work as a group since and ever since, I do not like working in-groups! :D -Keith

Changes within ourselves

I have observed in myself that I have become more participative with my group mates and become a responsible member. -Reniel

As I have said in my previous answer (which is as heretic as I am!), I do not like working in groups, that would be the least thing at all times Id choose but since I have enjoyed arguing with them; I think somehow that I have appreciated it. :D -Keith
Relevance of chemistry in our life after Chem101

This is the only time that I have taught of even majoring in chem! Hahaha. Well, maybe because I have learned how to study chemistry in my own way. It made me realize how important high school is- the most important realization I had. -Keith
