Nanganganib mga tuna sa Pacific dahil sa overfishing

NAGBABALA ang mga eksperto sa pangingisda sa Asya-Pasipiko kahapon na nauubos na a n g m g a t u n a , s inabing kailangang bawasan nang 30 porsyento ang panghuhuli sa rehiyon. Ayon sa mga dumalo sa kumperensya sa Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC), dapat kumilos upang mapangalagaan ang tuna at ibang lamangdagat na hindi sinasadyang nahuhuli kasama ng mga tuna tulad ng mga pating, pagi, pawikan at ibang isda, na kumokonti na rin ang bilang. Sinabi ni WCPFC executive director Glenn Hurry na nakahuhuli ng may 151,000 tonelada ng big-eye tuna tauntaon. We need to reduce that catch by 30 percent, aniya. Sinabi rin niyang hindi na dapat taasan ang panghuhuli sa iba pang patok na lahi ng tuna tulad ng skipjack, yellowfin at Pacific albacore. AFP

MALAPIT nang matunghayan sa ilang panulukan sa Quezon City at Pasig City ang mga pedestrian lane na nagbibigay babala sa mga bulag at iba pang persons with disabilities (PWDs) na tumatawid.
Sinabi kahapon ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na maglalagay ang ahensya ng mga tawiran na pabor sa mga PWD. Ilalagay ito sa dalawang lungsod dahil dito pinakamarami ang PWD. Ayon kay MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino, ang proyekto ay kaugnay ng paggunita ngayon sa International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Aniya, ang kawalan ng mga tawiran para sa mga PWD ay nagpapahirap sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na paglalakbay. Idinagdag niya na may mga kaso kung saan nadadakip ang mga PWD na napipilitang mag-jaywalk dahil hindi magamit ang mga tulay-tawiran ng tao. Ani Tolentino, sa simula ay magbubukas ang MMDA ng tatlong PWDfriendly na pedestrian lanedalawa sa Quezon City at isa sa Pasig City. Ang isa ay sa kanto ng Aurora Boulevard at JP Rizal Street sa Project 4, at isa malapit sa Isetann, Cubao, parehong sa Quezon City; at isa pa sa Santolan Road kanto ng Marcos Highway sa Pasig City. Lahat ng ito ay may mga speaker na magsasabi kung ligtas nang tumawid. DEAR Joe, Ive been with my boyfriend for a year now. Our relationship was smooth during the early part until problems came along. It started a few months ago when I discovered that he was calling his ex-girlfriend abroad.
I ignored it the first two times Ive seen the dialed numbers on his cell. But the third time I saw it, I confronted him. He denied it and told me that somebody used his phone and might have accidentally dialed the numbers. His explanation was not convincing, but still, I accepted it hoping that it would be the last. But I was wrong. I saw the number again and this time, he admitted that he was looking for answers why she left. He promised that hed stop calling her and stop searching for answers to his questions. The succeeding months after that were fine, until I discovered something again. I actually saw him dropping by his exs house. What hurts me most was it didnt just happen once. That incident made me decide to break up with him. But being fair with him, I listened to his explanations. He said that he went there not because of the girl but because of her brother who happens to be his best friend. Joe, my boyfriends relationship with his ex-girlfriend lasted for seven years. Thats why I couldnt blame him if hes still close to her family. It hurts me when I imagine how happy he is with them. He asked for forgiveness and promised that he will never go there anymore. He even offered me marriage just to prove his sincerity and I am the one he wants to spend his life with. After several weeks, I decided

It is like a poison that kills a relationship in its roots. What most of us fail to realize is the fact that we can make something good out of what seems to be a threat to our relationships. Safeguard Your Heart in JW confab

WHAT is true love? How do you safeguard your figurative heart? These are among the topics that will be tackled at the Safeguard Your Heart annual convention of Jehovah's Witnesses on Dec. 7-9, 2012 at the Tanghalang Pasigueno in Pasig City. The series of Bible-based lectures will also be held in Filipino Sign Language where some 2,000 Deaf individuals from Metro Manila are expected to meet on Dec. 21-23, 2012 while a program in Korean will be on Nov. 30-Dec. 2, also in Tanghalang Pasigueno. As part of their worldwide campaign on Bible education, the Witnesses will hold the convention simultaneously in 49 cities in the country with a combined total of 115 conventions. The conventions will highlight references to the heart not in the romantic sense but in the Biblical sense. Through lively discourses, dramatic Bible readings, presentations and a live play, program parts will stress how protecting the figurative heart will enhance ones spiritual well-being, family life, and happiness. Jehovahs Witnesses said they are inviting everyone, including those of other faiths, to attend and learn more about your heart. There is no admission fee.
