HANDS-ON LABS
MANAGING WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 SP1 Delegates will practically manage servers remotely & learn what tools to use; what tasks & administrator rights are required to administer a server. CHECK SERVER ACTIVITY Delegates will learn how to establish a Performance Baseline; how to collect performance data by monitoring primary server subsystems. This lab also covers how to identify system bottlenecks by using the Performance Console & Task Manager. APPLYING DEVICE DRIVERS Delegates will learn the procedures that will help them maintain device drivers. They will configure device driver Signing as well as restore the previous version of a Device Driver. ADMINISTERING SERVER HARD-DISK Delegates will set-up hard-disk on a server running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 & learn how to Partition a disk. Delegates will also learn Encrypting File System (EFS) which stores data securely & protects the network. MANAGING IT DISASTERS Delegates will learn a real-life Disaster Recovery Plan: how to Back Up & Restore Data & System State data files, schedule backup jobs & use the new Shadow Copy feature. Delegates will learn how to use the Data Recovery Tools to recover from a server failure. TCP/IP TOOLS Delegates will learn in depth the TCP/IP suite of protocols to enable them to troubleshoot when a Windows Server 2008 R2 Sp1 cannot communicate with a client on the network. MULTIPLE SUB-NET NETWORKS & TCP/IP Delegates will learn the IP routing procedures which will help to construct & assign an appropriate Internet Protocol (IP) address for hosts on the network; construct & assign IP Addresses, Create a Subnet, Calculate a subnet Mask, Use an IP routing Table, Reduce the number of unused IP addresses & Implement Super-Netting. CLIENT INTERNET PROTOCOL ADDRESSING Delegates will learn to configure a client to use a static IP address automatically by using Dynamic Host Configuration protocol (DHCP) or by using Alternate Configuration. PREPARING A WORKSTATION FOR NAME CHECKING Delegates will discover how to use NetBIOS names on a TCP/IP network, name resolution mechanisms & use Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) to identify client media access control (MAC) addresses. TROUBLESHOOTING NETWORK CONNECTIVITY Delegates will be taught how to systematically isolate & troubleshoot connectivity issues & how they use network utilities & tools to rapidly get your organizations network back to normal.

Delegates attending the training will receive a comprehensive training materials covering the theory and labs sessions. Delegates will use the materials during the the training program and be used as reference in the future. Each delegate will be given CDs software (Evaluation, Shareware & Freeware) to be used during the lab sessions and can be used at their organization.

COURSE TIMING
Registration starts from 8.25am onwards. The training will start at 9.00am and ends at 5.00pm for all three days. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

THE TRAINING PROGRAM The fee includes course materials, use of workstation during the workshop session,hardware & software, lunch and coffee breaks for the whole training program. RESERVATIONS Reservations can be made by telephone of fax. Registration is confirmed on receipt of registration form and payment must be cleared three working days before the program date. If unable to do so, please advise late payment in writing. CANCELLATIONS & TRANSFERS If the registered delegate is unable to attend, a substitute is welcome at no additional charges. Cancellation and full refund will only be accepted up to 15 working days before the training program.
