The Republicans will need a candidate. Bruce Castor has, publically, indicated his interest. Can he win a primary and how viable is he as a general election candidate? In my view, the Republican candidate has to be present a clear choice to continued Pennsylvanias continued economic decline. The election will be, I hope, The Taxpayer Party v the Union Party with a focus not on cutting taxes but cutting unsustainable spending. The candidate will advocate economic growth as the only way to solve our states fundamental fiscal problems other than either huge tax hikes or crippling austerity. Raising the standard of living for all has to be the goal. Otherwise, winning an election, as we have learned, is not worth the prize.

I have to think they are right and Pennsylvania will have a Democratic Governor in 2012 leading to even more economic decline for the residents and voters of Pennsylvania.
