Whatever you decide, we believe that your choice shouldnt feel like a compromise. Tinies and David Lloyd together offer a unique solution to the challenge of finding caring, safe and stimulating childcare for your little one. We combine the high standards of loving care and early years education that youd expect from Tinies together with the fantastic facilities and expertise of David Lloyd coaches in integrating active play and exercise into your childs day at Tinies. So if youre looking for daycare that will nurture and stimulate your child in a high quality setting with great facilities, then you really dont have to compromise!
Our philosophy
Children need to feel a sense of security and belonging when they are away from their parents. This idea is central to our philosophy and guides our approach to the setup of all our nurseries. We also believe that every child is a unique individual. To encourage their natural skills, abilities and personality to flourish, we work hard at providing a safe, caring, fun and stimulating environment. After all, children learn best from first-hand experience: they have an innate desire to explore and make sense of the world around them though play. We help them do just that, by placing an emphasis on what they can do rather than what they cant. Encouraging their desire for exploration cultivating their spirit of adventure nurturing their sense of curiosity all within the safety of our fully supervised nurseries. Everything has been designed with this in mind. Our activities are geared towards helping your child develop at their own pace physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially.
Our nursery managers are responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ably supported by their nursery staff as well as our vastly experienced operations and management team at head office.
We fully comply with OFSTED guidelines on staff-to-child ratios: One member of staff to three children under the age of two One member of staff to four children between the ages of two and three One member of staff to eight children between the ages of three and five. Nearly all our nursery staff are NVQ-qualified and first aid trained. All our nursery staff have completed a full Criminal Records Bureau check.
Settling in gently
The first time you and your child separate can be deeply upsetting for both of you. Our sympathetic, experienced staff are highly skilled at managing this difficult transition, making the whole process smoother and less traumatic. Your child will be assigned a keyworker who is personally responsible for ensuring that their introduction to nursery life is as natural and stress-free as possible. You will of course be able to stay with your child until they settle in after which well encourage you to leave for short periods of time until they become used to your absence. Our aim is to ensure your childs routines reflect what they are used to doing at home as closely as possible (especially if they are very young). So well ask for lots of information about their sleeping and feeding routines their food and activity preferences and other important things like your contact details, who will be collecting your child on a regular basis and so on.
Meal times
As you know, a balanced diet is crucial to your childs development. Our nursery team will provide a varied menu, designed to appeal to children taste buds while meeting their key nutritional needs. Where possible food is prepared on-site with ingredients sourced from carefully selected local suppliers. Vegetarians, children on special medical diets, children with religious requirements and those with food allergies are also catered for, with each days menu clearly displayed in the nursery.
A true partnership
You and your children are the reason were here. Its as simple as that, which is why we always encourage your input into the running of the nursery. Were driven by your comments and will always respond to your feedback as positively as we can. Your keyworker and nursery manager are always happy to meet you and discuss your childs progress and development, answering any questions or queries you may have. Youre always welcome to come and spend time with your little one in the nursery, sharing in the joys of their accomplishments and lending your support as they face the challenges of growing up.
As valued partners we need your help to ensure the smooth, safe running of the nursery.
Thats why we ask you to carefully follow our security guidelines when admitting unknown people into the nursery. We also ask that you keep us fully informed of any allergies or special dietary requirements for your child. Finally, we appreciate your assistance in adhering to our protocols for infectious illnesses and quarantine periods, as specified by your nursery manager. By working together we can protect the health and safety of all the children in our care.

PAYMENT
Our fees are based on a weekly fee which shall be notified to you in advance of your child starting at the nursery (Weekly Fee). We may review these fees at any time but shall inform you of the revised amount at least 1 month before it takes effect. If you do not wish to pay the revised fee, you may end this Agreement by giving us one months notice, by completing our notification of leave date form, which can be obtained from the nursery manager. Fees must be paid on a monthly basis, in advance. We calculate the amount payable by you each month by multiplying the Weekly Fee by the weeks charged for in each year (depending on the nursery at which your child has a place) and dividing the total by 12. This will give 12 equal monthly payments. All payments made under this Agreement must be by Direct Debit. Under exceptional circumstances we may agree to payment by cash or cheque, but it is your responsibility to obtain a receipt from the nursery manager as proof of payment. If you have requested additional sessions or have been unable to collect your child by the official collection time and we have as a result provided you with additional childcare facilities, we will charge you for additional childcare monthly in arrears. We will amend the amount of your direct debit accordingly. If you fail to make a payment in full by the due date we will enforce an interest charge of 2% above the base rate of our bank on the fee outstanding for every day the invoice remains unpaid, along with an administration fee of 25.00. this will be enforced without exception. No refund will be given for period where your childs nursery place is unfilled due to illness or holidays. Where nurseries are closed on bank or public holidays; no refund will be given for this closure. Where your nursery offers a reduced fee rate after a childs birthday that reduction will take effect from the first day of the following billing period.
